I don't watch Castle, but maybe he has a cousin Frank, sort of the black sheep of the family.

The one with the long wait between ambushes isn't the malta defector mission, it's the one with Black Panther xxx. Malta defector is great, free him, Commander Pike will ambush you, mission over.
I guess Malta read Marvel comics and watched old Star Trek episodes, based on the names of these bosses. -
Lol, no insult intended, if you felt one was given that's all on you. If you're unfamiliar with "Wagon Train", "Manimal" or "Star Wars" well, I can't begin to be responsible for your depth of knowledge (or lack thereof) of the tv/movie media.
-
Quote:I usually leave opinions alone, they are what they are and how silly I personally find them isn't going to change anything. But I do have to question this, you really believe BSG was ruined? Some cheeseball ripoff of Wagon Train meshed with Star Wars was ruined?
Like what they did to ruin Battlestar Galactica.
I won't even get into my own view of the new take on the show, I'm certainly fine that someone doesn't like a show I'm quite fond of, but it's really perplexing that someone could think of the old show as even possible to ruin. For your sake I hope they don't reenvision Manimal, lest they "ruin" that too for you. -
I have no qualms giving an unequivocal answer for "the best" team pve troller - Earth/Cold. At least based on my own inventory of trollers, which include fire/kin, ill/rad, mind/therm, blah blah, all primaries and secondaries represented at 50. With this toon, I have never ever thought, "Here's a scenario I'm not making a substantial contribution to". At the end of the day, /Cold has Benumb, a very special power indeed, unique among the buff/debuff sets.

You don't need to be a Stalker to be pve invis and that's been the case for a while.
My primary tip farmer is a DM/SD with a stealth IO and SS.
I had used a level locked Stalker for mid30s tips, but as mentioned above, getting the initial tip, via tip farming, was too laborious, so I'll need to find another. The Scrapper is so much better at this with Fireball for lowbie npc hunting. Another thing that makes the Stalker not as effective as my Scrapper is the number of escorts that exist and ambushes keyed on you regardless of hidden status. At that point, running around without hide, you're just a gimped Scrapper, not a real Stalker.
Personally I don't like doing -1, just because lvl 49 drops are sort of a bummer. Just turn bosses off and the danger between 0 and -1 is negligible.
Note - I'm not saying Scrapper is "best" but an investment in a stealth IO is key. One neat thing about Night Widows - in addition to all the basic tools to be a good A merit farmer (stealthy, soft-capped def, kills objectives quickly and has enough aoe for tip farming), using smoke grenade you can click glowies without getting anyone's attention, unless they're right beside you and I mean right. Yeah people say soft-capping is good enough, but that means there's a 5% chance you get interupted, I prefer a 0% chance. So now that I think about it, I would say NW is the best A-merit farmer. -
I was curious what the Torchwood fans on board were thinking about Miracle Day. It seems telling that it hasn't generated any discussion in over 2 weeks. After last night's episode, I'm coming to a previously unfathomable realization - I don't care for this series.
It's just sooooooo ssssslllllllllloooooooooooooowwww, at least with plot progression. To make matters worse, the new US replacements seem so bland compared to the old Torchwood regulars, despite being significantly bigger names (Bill Pullman, Mekhi Phifer and Lauren Ambrose) than those UK actors (Gareth David-Lloyd, Burn Gorman and Naoko Mori) probably ever will be.
I'm getting impatient that, before the season started, we knew that people stopped dying. Now, 5-6 weeks (or however many it is) into the season, we know that people stopped dying and *spoiler, sorta* some pharmaceutical company seems suspiciously prepared for this event.
I'll keep watching it, since I'm already invested in it. This series has put a stain on the Torchwood name though. -
If the only green-lit movies were "original ideas" then I'm guessing there would be next to 0 movies ever made in a year, not to mention 0 books, 0 records, 0 plays.
-
I dug it.
Just as importantly - Freida Pinto... easy on the eyes, to say the least. Movies need more Freida. -
Quote:Oh come on, people that spend their time playing a video game RPing a super hero/villain have every right to say "get a life" to an educator trying to make a fun example of the subject. After all who knows more about needing to "get a life"?
I feel insulted. This was done by a teacher for his students. I use to do things like this for my students when I used to teach algebra as it made it so the equations were more interesting to solve for them, so that remark hits kinda personal.
BTW, Kudos to the teach. Nice work. -
Few other points:
* for a defender duo, the +Dmg buff for 1 teammate is 20%, for each of you
* if you go Ice Blast then Ice Storm and Blizzard will get the same damage as a Corr, outside scourge
* /sonic for a defender debuffs resistance significantly more than Sonic/ on a Corr
* Acid Mortar has the same degree of advantage for defender debuff
I crunched the numbers real quick and, excepting for Scourge, the numbers are almost identical (no I'm not going to show my work), with the Defender pulling ahead with each Sonic attack stacking -res. On the other hand, twin corr trappers with 2 Maneuvers and 2 FFGs would be at 38% defense vs the Defenders comfortably over the soft-cap. Yes you can build up def bonuses but the Defenders will be soft-capped the second they slot SOs.
I didn't even get into the higher -dmg debuffs from seekers for the Defs as well. -
2x Traps is absolutely not overkill. The 2 of you would each be soft-capped to all by lvl 22 if you took Maneuvers by then. Actually only one of you needs to take Maneuvers for soft-cap. You'd be able to take on anything, with only endurance management a real concern.

Quote:So you haven't seen the show, but are questioning why people watch the show? I, for one, find it to be a very good representation of the Avengers. I base that on having watched the show myself and forming my own opinion.So.. what is this, like Justice League Unlimited for Marvel?
I haven't seen the show... I'm going to assume it's in the same category of quality. Just judging from that video, however.... it makes me wonder why anyone even watches the show. Seriously, some of those drawings are atrocious. Especially that disfigured Captain America. I was drawing better proportioned characters in my junior high days. -
Since we're nit-picking numbers, 2/3 * 33 * 30 assumes Stamina is already ED capped, which we do not know to be the case for the OP. I know it would not be the case for me and I'd get the full benefit for all of my Trappers, across the ATs, resulting in ~10% additional recovery, not 6.6.
-
Ha, the 6 wasn't intended to be "precise" but rather directional based on (45-33)/2. 6 vs 8 doesn't change whichever t4 you'd chose.
-
I wasn't posting it as if someone had solved Fermat's Last Theorem (yes I know that's been done), just thought it was cool someone took the time to do it.

I know there are a handful of math geeks out there, I squeeled like a little girl when I saw this:

Emp/Psi is fine. You sound like me when I was at a similar point where I had all Defender primaries except for Emp and I also had never used Psi, so I paired them.
Yes, certain mobs are to be avoided solo. That's easy enough and a fair tradeoff to be able to do full damage to Statesman, Maurader many more through their T9s. -
Quote:Que?
The +recovery isn't giving you more recovery, it's just going to tack a little bit onto Stamina.
By adding end mod to Stamina, that does give the player more recovery. I may be mis-understanding the above though.
I tend to go for the Alpha T4 that offers the greater number of usable enhancement effects. Radial will give you increased Stamina, increase the -ToHit of seekers and make you run a bit faster, I'd say that's worth the tradeoff of an increase of about 6% of base damage. -
Voltaic Sentinal will not be buffed. Perhaps it will inherit your buffs when summoned, that I'm not sure of but FSing an existing VS will not increase its damage.
I'm going to avoid answering "what's better?" They're both on the light side for damage, both have a pbaoe for post-FS and an AOE to follow-up.
It sounds like your leaning to electric and that's reason enough to go for it. I would say there's no compelling enough reason to counter with "No to elec, rad is far superior!" -
Thank gawd it's about time. I did this for a week and just thought "why bother?" Any "fixes" can't come soon enough, this pvp farming may be the worst example of game exploitation I've seen, counting the AE stuff.
-
Quote:That's great if you go to AE to have a SS/Fire brute PL you. However, I intend to play mine to 50 and I'm sure others will as well. FYI - endurance for Traps doesn't even begin to compare to Sonic's. Even pre-inherent Stamina I omitted Stamina for my Trappers. A Sonic couldn't even consider going Stamina-less.end is not much of an issue when you start taking into account incarnate stuff
t4 cardiac + ageless with end recov means you shouldnt have hardly any end issues
my demon/trap runs like 7 toggles and with just a cardiac t4 was not doing very bad for end even with using traps a lot plus some attacks. i recently got a tier 2 ageless with end recov and he rarely goes under half of his end bar anymore
I always go to Cardiac with my Sonics, it's ideal with both endurance and resists enhancements. -
Word of warning - an actively attacking MM with Demon's Whips + Sonic's toggles is going to be challenged by endurance management. Have your merit farmer earn a lvl 20 Miracle unique for immediate usage at lvl 17, is my advice. Thinking of Disruption Field's end cost increasing (as per usual for MMs) makes my spine shiver.

Quote:I'm fine with the effects only working at lvl 50.Before you completely redo your build, try changing your Alpha Incarnate slot to Cardiac Radial Paragon.
That won't help you when you exemp, but it might help you enough to keep you going at lvl 50.
Would the Ageless Destiny power be sufficient perhaps? I haven't started working on post alpha for this guy yet.
Cardiac certainly is an "I win" choice for endurance problems, I went that way for VEATs that also sucked wind and now they can fight indefinitely. I do like the variety of enhancements I get from Spiritual Radial Paragon though and would like to keep them.
