I thought that was what I did to sum things up. I mean you guys have got to know it is not personal but it was clear she was making some seriously incorrect statements/false assumptions and basing changes on those incorrect statements/false assumptions.

Quote:I don't think you realize how some of the statements you have made taint this current iteration of your position. The differences are fairly stark in my eyes because the powers given to PB's to allow their versatility are pretty awful and don't stack together well enough. I am not trying to change what a PB does, just suggest how to make it do what it does better.
At least that is the intention, and the reason I am adding not removing, while also obeying the cottage rule.
Quote:PB's on the other hand have reactive heals instead of upfront resistance so they have to stop doing damage when they get hurt.It means they cannot leverage Nova form half as well as a Warshade, and Nova form is the only form that does enough AoE damage to really count.
Quote:I saw the other day that Light Form can now become perma, but i think that still means you get a crash, can't use Nova form at the same time and have to work around the KB mechanics in the human attack powers which again makes it very hard to leverage that extra survivability.
I was responding to your stated desire to change the PB from a scranker type to a defender type.
In the end I don't want you or anyone else to take my opposition to your ideas personally, I just think as presented they lack merit. Rest assured if something is presented here that does have merit the devs will see it and if good enough will implement it where they feel it is needed. -
Z already confirmed the scheduling deal. Sucks but that's their method.

The way these are coded it is clear they did not have any foresight about how this would function in the game ie. 6 very rare drops. This was made worse by them IGNORING us when we told them about it during BETA. It did not have a damm thing to do with resources.

Quote:For once I am glad they have a technical limitation which goes against everything I stand for normally. It is almost like everything is up for money in the eyes of many here and there is nothing good about that IMHO.Right, it was planned as just an extra feature, not a purchase. I think it was supposed to be that you'd get 3 slots instead of 2 at 25/27/29, for a total of 3 extra slots? I can't find the post now; maybe it was purged along with one of the previous beta forums.
Anyway, proposing that they sell it for points doesn't make the technical issues go away. At best, it gives them a stronger incentive to work on it, but they'll have to overcome the same problems to do so, which means that, at best, other features would be shuffled around on the schedule.
I am also glad that Z shared their scheduling methodology with us dispelling the rumor that just throwing more of our money at them will solve all the desires even my personal ones(staff fighting). -
Quote:I missed that. At "that" time I must then assume it was something that was going to be a part of an issue and since freedom was not here there was never any discussion from them about us having to pay for the slots then right? Help me get up to speed. You know it was the devs who put this idea forward in the first place, right? It was in the process of being implemented when they hit a severe technical snag (the aforementioned delete-all-purples bug) and had to abandon the project until a later date. We are well past the "convince the devs this should happen" stage.
Edit: By "this" I mean "more slots". How to obtain those slots is possibly up for discussion. -
I don't see any "need" for "any" more slots. Just because some people want them does not mean that is a valid reason to magically make more slots.
I truly think bringing in the inherent argument weakens the position for more slots as the comparison misses on several levels, not to mention the sheer pay to win elements.
I don't see this kind of overreach as something "any" of the devs are getting behind or receiving warmly in any stretch of the imagination. -
Quote:I thought my sig explained that to some degree. It is what each person makes of it depending on build and playstyle, which means it's versatile. What 'is' it though? It doesn't seem to be anything in particular at the moment.
I don't want to give the wrong impression, but I remember in I9 they said they were not going to make the Solar Flare change from KB but would look into it working while hovering since many PB's hover fight and they did that. I at that time was for KD, but after playing it for years I know how to work it and the recent change in casting works well for my style.
Pulsar's change worked well for me as well and while nice there is no pressing need to up the mag on the stun, but I would not fight it.
Photon Seekers recent change was very very good to me and my style of play. Increased damage or rain of arrow type casting changes would be welcomed but are not critical.
I just don't see anything calling out at me like before the recent changes, but ALWAYS look forward to the "devs" perspective concerning these things. For every Lord Xenite with a really really good suggestion there are ten other horrifically bad suggestions that essentially change the Kheldian to this or that person's favorite AT. Bugger on that ish. -
I am against Purchaseable Enhancement Slots. I think we have just the right amount of slots and certainly do not want any additional slots that may come to have ANYTHING to do with that GD Paragon market. Things would truly be out of hand at that point...as if they weren't already... 800 PP for a GD Leprechaun.
-
I am against changing the PB from what it is into something else individually preferred by this or that Kheldian driver.

This kind of thing happens ALL the time and I HATE it with a PASSION.

Quote:From today's Facebook Freedom Fridays, in response to someone referencing this exact thread:
I am not usually a blunt person, but: until this is done, along with the regular pool powers, "power customization" is an unfinished job. It should be in the schedule. Maybe you want to release two more Incarnate powers before you tackle this. Maybe your powers/animations teams are busy refining Beast Mastery and Staff Fighting, and working on a couple more power sets for the next few months. That's all good, and I get that. But this should, at least, be in the schedule. "Finding time" should not be an issue. Please, I implore you: make time.
Obviously, that is my opinion and should be treated as such.
Yeah, but its a darn good opinion.
More bluntly put I don't want to hear anymore of this for Paragon Points crappola when this is a scheduling priority issue and NOT as Z said about the releasing of powers like staff a resource issue. Enough with trying to give other people's money away for stuff that should be completed to make a feature full ie. powers customization. -
I generally HATE PvP in most games. From I9 to I13 I played PvP in this game and liked it.
I refuse to play PvP in this game in its present state, so I have to say no to a new PvP zone and yes to repairing PvP. -

Quote:Those are catalysts.Just so I'm clear, since I haven't seen all of the posts on this particular issue, the Enhancement Converters which have been dropping for the past week (got at least 3 on one toon so far) shouldn't/can't be applied to ATIOs until that patch? I've been waiting until I had enough to convert an entire set, so this isn't a big deal for me (although I can see it being a problem for other people).
-
Make it free or don't even bother wasting time and do something else that improves the game instead. The backlash is not worth it trust me.
-
Since I do this a lot with AE, I wholeheartedly support this idea.
-
Quote:This.Nope. Don't want to encourage the "nickle-n-dime" mentality it anymore than has already been done. customization has been free so far, no need to start charging for it in the future.
Warning devs if you ever do this don't even think about charging for it because I would make sure you would never hear the end of it and no it's not a threat just a forewarning. -
It's changing that is done so I am past that.
Having said that this team waiting for buffs to go off in 3..2..1 and then everyone goes in deal does not happen much at all anymore on freedom where I play. I mean sure occasionally you might see an old school emp give that call but mostly people just buff on the roll so to speak.
So many teams steam roll missions/tf's these days any buffs given are under a time constraint just based on the speed of the roll and I do not see this as any kind of real special issue in practice. -
Quote:The attuned and can't be sold part is supposed to make up for that difference. Not saying it does but that was the explained logic and most were ok with that. I have issues with the procs within the sets doing different things that is a more pressing issue IMHO.The store-bought enhancements are already better than their in-game counterparts.
Being attuned, they keep their set bonuses when you exemp down to 3 levels below the minimum level. So if you bought a set of Thunderstrike you keep the set bonuses all the way down to level 27, while someone who slotted a set of level 50 Thunderstrikes loses the bonuses below 47.
I'm not a complete dev fanboy, despite my frequent defense of their decisions. There ARE things they've done that irritated me, I just don't generally spend time complaining about things that are already done and can't be undone.
The store-bought enhancements being better than the in-game versions is one of those things. Another is the fact that the vet rewards I waited 5+ years to acquire can now be gotten by a new player on their first day if they want to drop $400 on the game all at once.
Both of those things annoyed me, but other than mentioning them here I'm not going to sit around whining about it. It's already done, so there's no point.
In terms of vet rewards I can understand some feeling that way. The way I view that is Paragon just want the money equivalent for the time unlocks and with the hybrid model it makes perfect business sense to do it since. -
Quote:Well IDK mate we have the option to go -1/x1 no bosses no AV's, but you are right it does not work for a story arc as you will still get the EB at -1 but an EB none the less.Sorry, I'm too jaded to buy that just on someone's say-so. There's nothing "optional" about putting a PC-crushing EB at the end of a low-level solo story arc (I'm looking at you, Frostfire). If you can start a mission chain solo, you should be able to finish it solo, regardless of AT or character level. You're lying through your teeth if you suggest that's what we have now.
If you are asking for those guys to be bosses that is an entirely different subject than what is being discussed in the thread.
My point is there needs to be the flexibility of the radio/paper mission settings for any additional content Dr. Aeon is talking about adding. -
Quote:but the fake Star Wars setting works against that - it's a hook that doesn't deliver a real Star Wars experience.
This has got to be the most ignorant statement I have seen you make in a sea of ignorant comments you have made about this in this thread. You really are not doing yourself any good with this when the creator has given his approval in cannon so stop it please. -
I really love creative people. What a wonderful idea and the devs need to do this asap.
