Awwwwwww, it's a Turglet!
He's obviously running the Dr. Quaterfield at the moment, considering he's asleep.

Probably didn't want to release SSA6 on Valentine's Day. Guessing next week.
Weird thing is... where's the hype for this part?

Picked up a 24 pack, nabbed all 11 costume pieces within the first 10. Also got nearly a dozen of the ATIOs in the process, a bunch of reward merits, the catalysts, unslotters, etc. A quick bit of trading with hubby and roommate (who each bought packs of varying amount of their own, I forget what they had), and voila!
So, yeah, $18 to Paragon, and I'm cool. I wish I'd gotten the wolf, but oh, well.
Anyone who doesn't want their team/dual/dual-team inspirations, I will happily take them!

Quote:How about this? Make the entire wedding into an uber-huge story arc...Admittedly, I think it would be nice if there were a Fusionette/Faultline wedding event, similar to the Manticore/Psyche one from a few years back. What can I say? I'm a big softie sometimes
(This is a slight reworking of an idea I'd had like 4 years ago back when Manti and Psyche got married)
1) At least two missions sending you to all the different Tailors to find the right outfit (first in your size, and then in stock)
2) Stopping a jewelry store from being robbed (which just happens to be the one where the happy couple bought their rings, which are now stolen, oh no!)
3) Track down and beat the snot out of whoever stole the rings
4) The Carnival of Shadows has bought all the good shoes for women, so go stomp on 40 of them until you find a CoS chick with the right size feet and swipe her shoes
5) Someone's abducted the officiant... go save that poor sap
6) Go fight certain groups to collect certain types of salvage to invent 'the perfect wedding gift'
7) Oh crud, now the bride and groom have gone off to fight danger, go bail them out so they can get to the wedding
8) Timed mish to get to the wedding on time, with at least five groups out to stop you, and no travel powers work (because isn't that always the world works?)
The possibilities are endless...

Quote:YOU SCHNOOK! I was afraid you had died or something and no one had told us yet! *grabs a nerf bat and repeatedly beats Steelclaw about the head and shoulders*... batteries not included.
So, I've FINALLY spent some time with the incarnate content. In fact, since last I posted here in the forums (and I bet most of you didn't even realize I was gone) I've even managed to get a 2nd character to 50.
* On TPN Daily News: "Today in sports the Praetorian Professional Tennis Tournament was underway when suddenly super beings and a horde of killer robots decided to have their battle right at center court. Undeterred, last year's champion Kyle Breckinridge gamely held his position on the court but lost against the mayhem 60-luv."
* A friend of mine said he found the unedited raw footage of Anti-Matter's pre-Keyes speech. We formed a team and he hacked the system so we got the original, un-cut cutscene. Two hours later, during which he threatened to hold his breath until he got he wanted not once, not twice, but three separate times, Anti-Matter won the battle. Not because of any power on his part, but because all but two members of the League had quit... and one of the two had actually fallen asleep at their keyboard.
* To the tune of White Rabbit: One pod lends it healing... and one pod heal debuffs... and the one the Dev's were smoking... helped them think up this stuff...
* Avoid the green! Get out of the green! If you're fighting Anti-Matter jump out of the green zone! If you're running a MoM stay away from the GREEN!! No wonder some people take so long to work up the courage to click the green button to start the mission in the first place...
* "But... I can't build my next tier power... it... it requires Biomorphic Goo and well... he's too cute! I can't bring myself to use him in a recipe... I've named him Squishy..."
* DJ Zero: "And I thought the ROLEPLAYERS were annoying..."
* "Whatcha reading there? Forbidden Technique? Lemme see... whoa... I can see why they left THESE pages out of the Kama Sutra..."
* Siege: "Aw come on! (pant) Why do we have to... (gasp) fight all the way... (wheeze) over here?! Can't you (cough) ACU's slow the heck down so you don't make me... (gasp) look so bad?!"
* Okay, see... Mayhem or not... MY Mother doesn't dress that way.
* I want to start a petition for the Devs to add something to Ouroboros. Directly between the Empyrean and Astral vendors I want an opening in the fence and beyond it a suspended path that loops around and about before coming back to another opening directly beside the first. Nothing special about it, just a small winding walking path. Directly next to the opening I want a small sign with an arrow pointing that reads: "This way to Incarnate Trail."
Love the list, though...

To put my money where my mouth is, this is my Mind/Psi dom. Inspired partly by the Web of Arachnos novel, and partly by the in-game lore, I came up with...
Quote:MichelleOne of three genetically engineered beings known as the ERINYES Project, Tisiphone MistWalker is an Arachnos experiment with the potential for greatness... or disaster.
Along with her 'sisters' Alekto and Megaera, the MistWalkers are humans who have been virtually saturated with magic. Using Aracnhos' greatest mages, Lord Recluse had the powers of the ancient Furies bound within human form. As a safeguard, the humans were genetically engineered and given intelligence, but no 'soul.'
Theoretically, this was to keep them from being driven mad when the Furies were bound to their mortal forms. However, this had the unintentional effect of having no mortal restraint, comprehension, or even morality paired with the Furies' might.
Then the subjects broke free, and carved a swathe across the Isles before being 'recruited' by the Nova Dominion with the promise of vengeance against Arachnos.
Fury is loose in the Rogue Isles, and one way or another, Arachnos will pay...

Now I have to admit to being curious... for those folks who've made characters that are very heavily steeped in COH's lore, how about posting the character's bio here? (The short form, only 1023 character version that we're allowed in the game) You can post a screenshot of it if you want.

I think they missed a good idea in having NUMEROUS women sending Valentines to Sands and you can misdirect them to Hawk. Ranging from:
"Arbiter of my heart, how I long to know the cold strength of your embrace once more"
to
"You two-timing SKUNK, you told me you had Arbiter duty tonight and yet I SAW you in Pocket D chatting up that bint Trina!"

Quote:Which is ironic because one of my characters' names is all caps - the sentient computer program COUNTERMEASURES.Dechs, you're exactly the kind of player that makes this game's community so awesome.
I only have two rules that I follow, and only when making my own teams:
1) Nobody with bad use of caps. I find that players that name themselves using all caps or can't be bothered to use them at all also can't be bothered to be decent human beings in a text environment. There have been exceptions to this, sure, but few and far between.
2) Stalkers need not apply. (Stalkers are a filthy AT. I ain't teaming with no villain that doesn't have sense enough to disregard its own defense.)
Oh, and Samuraiko can always team wth me. She's dreamy.
My own rules:
1) If I'm not having fun, I stop playing. As a subset to this, if I'm on a team and the whole team's being a bunch of flaming tardbeasts, I politely excuse myself ("I'm sorry for the short notice, but I have to leave"). If it's just one person, I tell the leader ("I'm sorry, but I really can't deal with so-and-so, so I'm going to quit after this mission").
2) Pay it forward. God knows how many people were patient and helpful to me when I started, so the LEAST I can do is pass it along. Extra lvl 50+ SOs I don't need? Random donations around Ms Lib. Salvage I have plenty of that a PuG teammate mentioned needing? Here you go, have fun.
3) Agree to disagree, or at worst, ignore. As Hubert Humphrey famously said, "The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously." Where I can, I admit that you'll go your way and I'll go mine. You start attacking, turn racist, or sink to a level of flaming tardbeast that I find vomit-inducing, say hello to /ignore and /petition.
4) Never lose my sense of wonder. I will STILL drop what I'm doing 95% of the time to participate in a Rikti invasion. If someone says, "OMG, this looks so COOL", I wanna see what it is. And bugger what other people say, if I think it's film-worthy, I'm gonna film it.

I actually enjoy the challenge of creating a good bio in 1023 characters. It forces me to think and re-think my selection of words and the relevant information about the character that I'm trying to convey. Kind of like doing a drabble (100-word story) challenge.

Quote:One of them is on Justice - the Star Patrol (and its nemesis, the Nova Dominion) are RP-friendly where several of us have interweaving storylines. Some of the characters are related, some are 'involved', some were 'created' or 'came about' as the results of another's actions, etc. If another person's character is involved, we get the permission of the player first. Some storylines we RP as we run missions, others are more personal.Wasn't think of AE story arcs. I was thinking more of players written stories.
And really, you're right, the devs have no problem with you using their canon the way you have. So any player saying otherwise is lying.
I've known more than one person who's asked if they could make so and so's child as a character and been given the affirmative (and why wouldn't they, the devs want you to play).
What you don't seem to understand (or refuse to), is from a community RP standpoint, your idea fails. Which is what I've been trying to tell you.
You could of wrote the best storyline ever and left people in tears or livid with joy, but trying to make it part of everyone's canon in open RP community fails.
Now, while I'm not sure if they're still around, and I don't recall the SGs, I do believe there was a coalition of SGs on Blueside, that only RPed within their collective, very likely so they could do stories such as yours, and also keep out the stories they as a group didn't care for.
Quote:Good fan canon that makes sense and is well written.
Like DarkRespite's Nerd Romance story (Positron x her own character)
His (DV's) is bad fan canon.
Quote:DarkRespites's story still does what everyone was complaining about.
Whether it's good or not, is going to be a matter of opinion.
Quote:The thing is.
DR isn't forcing it on us or acting like DV is.
DV is acting like some pompous kid who thinks his fan canon is the best and thinks he has any right to manipulate lore/canon to HIS needs/desires.

and i like this lol.
and i saw this:
http://www.youtube.com/user/samuraiko#p/u/6/JDKt3iFOCX4
and LOVED it and feel it would have been a PERFECT ending to the arc, and a better cutscene than what we got. i almost forget it isnt canon.
 they should hire samuraiko.Quote:Also ... samuraiko > devs. Always. Thanks for sharing the link to that clip.
And I'm not trying to one-up the devs, honest.
Well, maybe just a little.

She should be in the Phalanx. At least, I think so.
I appreciate the thought. But Sorina Tavarisch and Andrea Blake (of THE COURSE OF SUPERHERO ROMANCE fame) still have too much story yet for me to tell for me to turn control of them over to the Powers That Be at Paragon.
But thank you!

Quote:Doesn't have almost any heroes like that? Statesman, Sister Psyche, the Woodsman, Hero 1, the Dark Watcher, Lady Grey, Tommy Arcanus, Numina, Katie Hannon, Shadowstar, Horus, Serafina, Foreshadow, the various Blue-side Menders...Quote:I may have misspoken, or I may simply not know the facts, but exactly HOW long have these people lived? I mean, the ones who aren't dead yet.
Sister Psyche - at least 80 years old as of 1986, IIRC
The Dark Watcher - a teenager as of 1932
Lady Grey - a hundred years plus
Numina - crime fighting back in the 1960s at least before her death
Foreshadow - several generations as he's flipflopped back and forth several times
********
As my own note to this discussion, when I ran it on Sorina Tavarisch (hero), all she could think was that if she'd just been faster or smarter, she might have been able to stop Wade before he got to Statesman. Right now, she is tearing herself apart over her self-perceived failure.
But when I ran it on Andrea Blake (also a hero), who is an Incarnate of the Netherworld, after chasing off Wade, she didn't even bother trying to resurrect him (despite being a dark/psi def, Howling Twilight, etc). All she did was sit beside him in the rain... waiting. Then she 'saw' Monica arrive for him, and Andrea just sat and watched as Monica and Marcus were reunited.
Then when they were gone, she left.

Quote:I was under the impression it was 'somewhere' in the same building as the FBSA in Galaxy City. (Just one of those 'oh it looks like an innocuous door to an office, then one secret elevator later and WHOOSH FP HQ!')Not sure if they have put a place in CoH where the Freedom Phalanx's headquarters is located or not? Or any new information on the subject?
It was pointed out to me that in the Top Cow comics, it was shown to be in a building that is the same design as Freedom Corps Plaza in Galaxy City Echo. Was it actually Freedom Corps as their HQ or just another building of the same design?
I do know the original HQ was in Baumtown before it went BOOM but what about now?
Now they're using Fort Trident permanently since Galaxy City is off limits.

It's amazing what Ms Lib finds in her pockets when she changes out of uniform, isn't it?
Here we have poor Positron, Scirocco, and Apex going bats*** trying to figure out how to restore their lady loves to the mortal realm, and she just whips out a ritual going, "Oh, yeah, well, Longbow says Uncle Stefan needs some friends, so here."
Oy...

*cheers for one of her favorite composers of all time*
If I could only pick ONE?
The "Force" theme from STAR WARS, in any of its iterations throughout the films.
*****
Little story here... I've loved his music nearly all my life (seriously - I began collecting film scores when I was seven years old). I was nine when RETURN OF THE JEDI was released, and the one piece of music I remembered and wanted more than ANYTHING was the duel where Luke loses it and beats the holy hell out of Vader. But that track was never released on any rendition of the score.
Then in college, my boyfriend at the time saw this 4-CD set of the original trilogy's scores, and knowing how much I loved the music (and wanted this track), asked the guys at Sam Goody (does that date me or what?!), "Is this one track on there?" Not really being score fans, they weren't sure, so they got a copy of the movie, fast forwarded to the duel, opened the box set, and checked both the RotJ CD and the Unreleased Music CD to find the track. As soon as he knew it was on there, he bought the set and sprinted to my apartment to be there when I got out of class.
To say I was thrilled (and appropriately grateful) would be an understatement.
*****
But he's done so many, many brilliant scores, so some of my personal favorites include:
HOOK
HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN
MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA
EMPIRE OF THE SUN
RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK/LAST CRUSADE
SCHINDLER'S LIST
Long may he wave.

If you've started doing the Valentine's Tips missions, you eventually get to deliver one from Numina to Positron. All well and good that she's woman (ghost) enough to declare her feelings. But she deserves a reply, don't you think?
And we've already seen that when it comes to romance, Posi isn't exactly the brightest crayon in the box (he gave Psyche and Manticore a transwarp blender, for crying out loud). So, this is your chance to ghost-write (haha stealth pun) a love letter from Positron to Numina!
(And I will give serious props to anyone who actually manages a really good love letter like the ones in the Valentine's tips.)
Comedic, serious, gushy, witty, or just plain hopeless - let's see it!

Roses are red

I love you intensely
