  1. Word of warning regarding Beam/Energy Blaster - you will burn a LOT of endurance with your click self buffs (Boost Range, Build Up, Aim all cost around 10 end a piece, and Disintegrate is also expensive). Also, the Boost Range > Disintegrate > Snipe for guaranteed spread will NOT work if you are too far away (it won't register). My BR/NRG is 50 and I've been pushing off his Incarnating for PVP purposes since he's incredibly unfun to play.

This, but in reverse - if I have an SG with people interested in PvPing (@Heavenly Perverse is away from game right now, so I'm prepping a new toon in the meantime), I'll be FAR more willing to have a go at it. It's not any fun solo - it's why I was so disappointed that Base Raids fell by the wayside.

Spring attack summons a different Pseudo-pet based on AT - it's adding the damage from all possible Pseudo-pets.

In fact, it was deliberately broken because players couldn't be bothered to move their mouse up a bit to talk to Fathiim in the last SSA.

    .
To be fair, there are two other effects in game that behave this way as well - Achilles Heel and Fury of the Gladiator (not sure if the new Brute ATO proc works this way as well).

Stalker: Meh. You'll need 13 attacks to get buildup to recharge with any regularity, and it seems a lot easier just to maximize buildup's recharge rate anyway if you take the power. This is also obsolete with Kin Melee, which with the other proc you can recharge buildup every time Concentrated Strike is recharged.

SoA: Seems cool. Global damage proc and all.
Blaster: It gives mag 1 status protection for 15 seconds, and caps at mag 3. It needs a higher proc rate to work in a Defiance compatible power.

Controller: It is a pet, and AoEs are treated as a single target attack, right down to a limit of one summon (Distortion Field summoned one every time, once it was catalyzed).

Stalker: My Stalker will probably throw this into Concentrated Strike and start using BU more often (and move guassian's to BU).

SoA: My Crab can't wait for this, but my Widow will probably skip the set entirely - She'd have to give up ranged defense for melee and I'm not ready to do that.

This is why Vigor didn't work with Regen and +MaxHP powers initially - they forgot to adjust them.

Basically the only REAL benefit is for a Pain Domination/Empathy character. (The only ones with enough powers to slot it to it's maximum benefit stack-wise.)
  10. Magic.

    A couple Naturals (StJ/WP Brute),
    A handful of Tech (Beam/NRG Blaster, Bats/Tarps)

    Uh... one Science (Warshade)

Both my dom and my Controller have both procs from their ATO sets slotted on the beta server.

    In the SAME POWER.
  12. In case anyone was wondering, Spider's Bite's bonuses are:

    2) Increases Damage by 2.5%
    3) Increases Maximum Health by 2.25%
    4) Increases Melee Defense by 3.13% and Smashing/Lethal Defense by 1.565%
    5) Increases Regeneration by 14%
    6) Increases Maximum Endurance by 3.15%

The icon is of Super Reflexes > Quickness, and it DOES scale with AT (My Defender gets +64% Damage, my Widow 80%, and my Blaster 100%)

I believe I mentioned this, but that same power means that Scrappers can cap their DDR using nothing more than 3 SOs in all pertinent powers while Stalkers can't go above 87% even with a T4 Nerve/Agility Alpha.

    But yes, it's silly.

This is actually part of the problem - not enough time TO test properly.

For those who lack beta access (for some reason) this post has a time stamp of 03-02-2012, 05:53 PM.

Later in that same thread it was mentioned that they were going live 12:01 AM Pacific on 3/6/2012.

So we had a total of 3.5 days to test it, when quite frankly most of us (myself, at least) were burnt out from beta testing everything else. And it was on the weekend.

I only tested it a few days after it went live because I was on the beta server checking the enhanced values of ATOs to gauge how I'm going to split up the Brute set on my TW/Elec - I figured I'd try it out to see how it compared... and promptly told the forums/Synapse via the main thread.

Also checked out Trap of the Hunter/ Posi's blast for proc rates as well.

Emphasis mine. Also good to see the Performance shifter being reduced by the amount I thought would be balanced (giving 125% the performance of the in-game version).

To be fair, some of the testers felt that they were made WORSE, not better (the first sound effects were too quiet, while the second versions had a metallic reverb which only worked if A) you picked a metallic staff or B) You fought robotic/armored enemies exclusively.), and there was that issue of the bladed staff being brought down with the blade facing sideways.

But compared to breaking MMs in general and being a complete joke, performance wise, some minor issues graphically with a handful of staffs (and I could always turn off sound outside of glowie hunts) presents a no-brainer of which set to release - unless you work for paragon.

If they really wanted us to buy all the pets pokemon style, they would have let us have MORE THAN ONE OUT AT THE SAME TIME.

And they said they were going to look into the Vanity Buffing Pets at freedom launch, and they still haven't gotten back to us.
  21. TBH, I'm looking forward more to Retro Sci-Fi than Staff. Still have a BS/SD Scrapper to level along with my Street Justice toon.

It happens when you enter Mot and begin the ''Survive by any means necessary!" segment (where you fail if all 16 players fall).
