  1. LOL Ad. Of course this isn't ever going to happen so the statement is merely wishful thinking. Your drawing down on it... Pointless.

    It occurs to me that all this chatter about why not to or why to consolidate servers is done in a vacuum sans data. I, anecdotally, sense a change in activity level on my server: Prices of IOs and salvage surge to levels higher than I have seen before (at one point 10 million for some rares, a one time 250 million sale of an lvl 50 Obliteration rare) while the number of toons on at the same time as I am drops (as determined by looking at friends online and online populations of global chat channels), and because of these sensed changes I conclude the server population (and general population in the case of the market changes) is down. W/o having the actual server population and traffic numbers I don't really know the population is down.

    So, yes I am guessing that server population is down to levels lower than any I have been a part of in my 4+ years playing the game and it has gotten to the point where I would like to move to a more populated server.

    Is it hard to conceive that I would also like to bring all my hard work with me and resurrect a long standing SG?
  2. I sense I have stepped into a previously trod pile of poo. That being said it is a new pile of poo for me as I have, over time, reached a point of being fed up with lack of activity.

  4. Yes well more a complaint. A complaint as it has become apparent that Inifinity has dwindled in activity quite a bit. Complaint because the volume of traffic on said server makes it hard to have a thriving SG compared to the past.

    All current-active members would be given the option of staying or moving with the SG.

    This of course would be easier if a couple/few lower performing servers were merged. Call it Pheonix?
  5. I am the commander (supreme) of The Legionnaires on Infinity. I have spent my entire CoH "career" on Infinity including all of my 10+ 50s. The SG is a top 35ish SG (not sure if that is just on Infinity of overall) and has taken quite a lot of effort (not just mine) to build up.

    Currently Infinity feels, well, dead. Not just slow but dead. I ventured over to another server and created a hero to tour another base and, POW, there were lots of people running all over. I have had to repeatedly rescue this SG and its is time to either do it again, knowing in certainty that a lot of effort won't lead to a sustained SG, or move to another server to find some life!

    I want to take my SG with me! I am guessing not possible but it really should be.

    To be honest I would gladly shed my current roster of heroes to have a chance to start over in a more lively environment.

    Tell me I am cracked but shouldn't we be able to jump off a sinking ship and bring our luggage with us?
  6. I saw a recent thread where an erstwhile marketeer states he can be in the ebil club "nao". So sorry but you got to the party a bit late.

    Think about it for a moment. Back when the ebil club started a billion really meant a lot. How many toons could you have fully outfitted with IO Sets including purples back in the day when ebils were rare?

    Now fast forward to today... I am an ebil but it really doesn't matter when I would need to spend probably over 50 percent of my cash on hand for just ONE 2 Billion PvP IO. And what about our new ebil member? Yeah he can't buy one...

    So, time for a new club? 10 ebil anyone? 20? 100?
  7. That was a good conversation going about the procs - are there any updates there?
  8. New to Bots/Traps so this is an exploratory build and probably can use improvements. I am guessing way over the soft cap when in game and the Protector bot bubbles me but I was thinking if the bots get wiped I will still be near the soft cap and have some time to get my bots back up? Used some procs but probably could make better use of them. Go easy - its my first Bots/Traps and this is a complicated build with tons of options! OH! I want it to be an AV/GM soloer...

  9. Here is another build - one thing I would like to point out is, in contrast to a poster above, I love Physical Perfection. The build I will post below went from barely being able to solo AVs with insp to soloing many w/o a single insp. She is a pretty capable farmer as well. She might not have the most optimized attack chain but she clearly is getting the job done. Also clear is that is a level 50 respec. You would never take so few attacks while leveling up. Also the attacks she does have are PLENTY with her recharge being high enough to keep you normally supplied with options.

  10. I have been playing a Master Mind for the first time and it has been fun and annoying.

    So, I have these bots, you know the ones, my protectors and allies who do most of the damage? Yeah those. Well they behave strange sometimes. Doors and elevators seem to confuse them more than anything else in the game. The first time I ran into battle and had no back up, yeah that was because my bots entered and then LEFT.

    "Um, guys where did you go? Can I get a hand here?"

    Then there was the Great Elevator Chase... I enter the elevator telling my bots "Hey don't be afraid just follow me!" Some great master mind I am because as I reach the next floor I see my bots running into the elevator headed back down... Um... really? Getting over the momentary time warp effect I look for my bots and, yep, you guessed it, I am missing two of my erstwhile associates. So I head back down just in time to seem them headed up... Sigh. I rush over and head back up the same elevator just in time to, uh huh, see them headed back down but I see both of them... Great I am gaining! Repeat, lather, rinse and bang I finally catch up and we are all on the same floor and ready to go. Run to the next battle..

    "Uhg. Guys?"

    Then there was the Amazing Cross City Race which resulted in my bots just disappearing from the team... Just gone, no skull, nada...

    "Who is shooting?"

    Just then I start seeing robot rounds picking off grey villains nearby. ???? I see three bots, all in blue now since they are not in my team, merrily shooting away at anything that moves.

    "Hello? Could we get on with this guys?" Then one by one they, poof, magically become teammates again... Of course don't ask what happened when I get through that next door...

While Silverado might not be completely correct, I can think of some cases now where purple sets in a build improve the build and lead to flexibility in the build, for the most part he is correct. Because purple sets don't have def bonuses in them, except for one I can think of, they can actually serve to weaken toons who have well thought out and very tight builds.

  14. Update: The Sonic/Rad Def is pretty much a success and solos GMs and AVs pretty well. She would be better with some changes and the flexibility added by using the PvP +3% Global Def proc and switching from Combat Jump/Super Jump to Hover Fly. Maybe a respec is in order at some point.

    My next project (Fire/Rad) will follow below. I have been working on her build for awhile and she is currently a Fire/Rad/Ice but as such seems gimped with only having soloed a few AVs. As such its time for a full on rebuild for her and again I can see she would benefit from the 2 Billion PvP +3% Def proc which would allow me to move a slot from Tough to Lingering Radiation and add an Acc there as well as slotting a purp damage proc into Ring of Fire and still stay at or above the Ranged Def Soft Cap.

    Thanks for the suggestion, however, as I have not taken the leadership pool and have used all my pools I won't be able to take the suggestion. I did take Smoke instead of Rise of the Phoenix and slotted it with the chance for -recharge proc.
  17. I don't think either of those builds will get it done. Here is a build I am currently working on that is close to the soft cap on ranged def that might be close.

    Lingering Radiation is a must, IMO, when it comes to soloing GMs as the have high regen you need to overcome or mitigate. Being close to the soft cap on a positional def is required to survive the fight and high damage output is a must.

    I am thinking I will 6 slot Tempered Readiness in LR to get +.9% end, +3.75% recharge and +1.88% more ranged def which almost caps me, puts AM over the top by 2 seconds and helps my end situation.

    I have been tweaking my Fire/Rad/Fire for Single Target (ST) damage and high Ranged Def. I am pretty sure there is a way to get over the soft cap on Ranged with out killing the build's recovery, recharge and important powers. The goal of this toon is NOT to plow through mobs, it is to solo AVs and if possible GMs. With Rad powers LR, RI, EF I think I can overcome a GMs resists and regen and when you take into account fire's good damage output I think it is doable. My current Rad/Sonic Def has solo'ed some GMs and I think a Fire/Rad could do it too.

    So I am perplexed as to what additional changes need to be made in this regard. Is Lingering Radiation over slotted? Should I put Armageddons into Consume to get the additional recharge into the build? (Which makes AM perma btw.) But does that gimp Consume too much?

    I think this build is CLOSE but feels just a bit off. Anyone?

    That vet reward is pretty cool. Can't wait to get that. Adds some flexibility to building toons.

    You are a touchy one aren't you?

    Adding hasten and the LotGs I added would not pose a problem with your build where end is concerned. With the changes your toon would be just that much better and very able to handle the increased end demands because I upped your recovery to ~2.5 above your base rate of consumption - add to that you have Conserve Power and you have an end abundance.

    As you will note in my following post I checked and realized that the Performance Shifter Proc wasn't unique but thanks for clearing that up, again.

    So since you don't need Hover and won't be taking it you could drop Grant Cover and take Hasten and have it three slotted. Now that would make this toon something to face. Yikes! Or you could skip it, ha! Overkill? Odd thought that considering that is what we do, er, arrest I mean. As a vet of considerable time don't you have respecs coming out of your ears? Not to mention they are so easy to come by so not really a consideration.

  22. Made some more changes you should really take a look at:

    There was no Hover in that last build so I moved some stuff around to include Hover. (Also there were two Performance Shifter Procs in the build and I thought they were uniques? Unsure about that.) Changes give you the following:
    +30% More regen
    +91 HP
    +40% More recovery
    +22.5% Recharge
    +6% Accuracy
    -6% ToHit (sorry)
    Max Defense Debuff Resistance (DDR) 95%

    You will see I dropped Grant Cover. I did this because you needed to take hover and Grant Cover is not needed because you have stacking Active Defense now which caps your DDR at 95% hence Grant Cover is not needed. Additional changes I would make are Drop OwtS and take Hasten (makes for a lot more Shield Charge and Foot Stomp goodness) and move a slot from Conserve Power to Hasten. If you drop OwtS (really you won't miss it) move the Steadfast to the Tough Pool and replace the Psi resist IO. I would also think hard about switching Hover/Fly for Combat Jumping and Super Jump. Perhaps try that combo out on the test server first if you are not familiar with it. As a tank you want to be on the ground using that Footstomp With Combat Jumping your positional defenses would be in the low 50s while fighting giving you even more cushion from debuffing than the 95% DDR.

  23. Oh! I forgot to mention one thing about the above comment on Energy Transfer and the damage it does to you when you use it... NOT an issue at all with my previous build and will be even less so with the new builds increased regen. I have tanked multiple AVs at once in the STF and others and never come close to being one shotted. The damage from Energy Transfer is minimal and barely even noticeable. So for anyone considering taking it - DO! It hits like a Mac truck.
