Quote:Then maybe you should have said that because that is not even remotely close to what you actually said and it changes the meaning substantially.LOL. I was obviously referring to things that are locked, I'm pretty sure that most of the people got that!
The point is, pretty much no matter how you slice it, you get more now than you did before. And what else could the devs do, exactly? There's really no way to temporarily "unlock" a powerset to try it out in any meaningful way. Let you level it up to 10? You're not going to learn anything about how it plays in 10 levels. Level 15 maybe? Level 20? Where do you draw the line? Eventually it gets to the point where the devs are giving that away for free too. And access to the Beta/Test servers? If they let just anyone on the servers will be flooded with people who have no intention of actually testing anything, most will just want a sneak peek at what's coming up (which is what already happens). Or simply play stuff for free on Test that they would otherwise have to pay for on Live, which defeats the purpose of having to pay for it.
The reason we're getting all this cool stuff (and at a much faster pace than before, I'll remind you) is because of the new business model.
Things costs money.

Quote:You're assuming the fight will last more than the half-second it takes Statesman to punch the ACU's head off its shoulders. I always viewed it as a close-up of him about to attack one particular ACU in a group of many. One thing that's always bugged me about the States vs. ACU image, in all its variations - why are we showing the Superman of the setting going up against a lieutenant-level robot on anything like equal terms? Put him against his opposite number, or one of the other Praetors, but he should be able to knock down IDF 'bots like bowling pins.

According to the devs and community reps, incredibly successful.

Fixed to match my first experience with TFs back in late 2005. If the game had stayed like this I can't imagine I'd still be playing (never mind it even continuing to exist).

Weird...could have sworn there was a Malta something that did that, but looking at the Gunslinger on PW it doesn't even have holsters to draw from.

ToB's costume was great, houtex.

They actually added a MuchHarder flag to the Reichsman encounter in the last patch.

Maybe, I wasn't even watching the head because I had seen reports that it couldn't be defeated anyway. I guess if it was that low on HP you might be right.

Ugly. Let me know when I25 goes to beta, maybe that one'll be better.

It's not your computer and it has nothing to do with the graphics. Tyrant's powers do so much damage that the game's servers can't handle that much information going back and forth, hence the lag. Your safest bet is to pull the enemies with your laser beam attack and stick to mostly single-target attacks (although I do find that some of the AoEs can be safe to use once you've pulled some away, but this may depend on your connection).

Quote:See but that's the thing, you're going with this assumption that there is only one correct Batman. The Batman character is 70 years old and has seen lots of different versions and styles. Nolan's take on the mythos is just as valid as the deliberately campy 60's show.See, I might have agreed before. But after the success of Spiderman, Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America; I don't think I buy that anymore.
If you can make a serious Capt. America movie and STILL have the big 'A' on his forehead and the little wings on his mask, then I say the other folks just ain't trying hard enough.
Loki had those honkin' huge horns!! Nothing's more ridiculous than those frickin' things, and they totally worked. I think Nolan made great movies starring Batman. I'm just not sure he made great Batman movies.
Nolan set out to create the most plausible world where Batman could exist and he succeeded. You could still have Poison Ivy and the Penguin in this world and they would work just fine (ecoterrorist, gangster with a nickname), they just didn't fit into the themes that Nolan wanted to explore. But then you start getting into Batman's more super-science enemies, like Mr. Freeze and Clayface, and you have you start inventing pseudo-science handwavium explanations for their abilities. And there's nothing wrong with that, but you can't do that while your intention is to make the world as realistic as possible.
