As a solo player? Practically nothing. Shards drop off all mobs, which you can use to craft other components that normally drop as rewards from TFs, but the drop rate on solo missions won't be enough for you to make progress very quickly.

If you want to get super-technical that last sentence is not always true depending on which interpretation of the origins of the Marvel Universe you subscribe to. There's a line of continuity which has declared that the supers of the Marvel Universe were seeded by Celestials when humanity was first evolving and that those people were destined to gain powers under their respective origin scenarios. So if anyone else but Peter Parker had been bitten, they would have either reacted negatively to the venom or simply experienced no effect at all.

Pretty much everyone is saying the same thing at this point.

I'm still on 10.9. I tried upgrading to 11.3ish a few days ago but it ruined my ability to alt-tab while zoning (which is critical as I don't have the attention span to sit there and look at purdy pictars). It seems 10.9 is the latest that works right for me.

Quote:I think, if nothing else, there needs to be a special Free Members Only chat channel (maybe server-specific?) for them to communicate. Yeah, it might fill up with spammers, but other than that you're right, free players will be completely screwed. I was telling a friend who was interested in CoH: Freedom that he would be restricted to Local and Team, and that completely demolished his interest. And I didn't even tell him that he can't start his own teams with other Free members because I wasn't even aware of that myself -- that's pretty bad. Now, I'm not advocating that we open the flood gates and just throw the whole game at everyone for free, obviously. But I want to see Free players have the ability to at least communicate and team with each other. This has to happen if we want them to stick together. The ability to form teams is not a good thing to sell for real money.

I thought MM-style Dual Pistols were the same as the set Dual Pistols? The attacks are the same.

Quote:Thanks Lemur, a topic search for Ustream turned up nothing, will keep an eye out for "Dev Chat" as well from now on.It does get posted.
Von Krieger does a pretty good job of posting highlights of the UStream after each one. -

Diseased Abominations have a Vahzilok Wasting Disease aura.
Syndicate Adepts do have Dual Pistols, yes, but then Malta Gunslingers have had Dual Pistols for ages (same with Lady Jane). -
Well duh.
Gonna go sit in my corner for a bit. No, I'll grab my own dunce cap, thanks. -
Chance for Placate only works on the initial cast of Static Field, so no, it's not particularly good for Electric Controllers/Dominators either.

There's also an actual Atlas Park sewer Trial now, so that mnight invovle Dr. V's goons - like maybe we have to stop them from trying to escape from Galaxy City to Atlas Park to continue their crimes? The retaking of the fort from Longbow could be a similar starter zone event for red side.
Anyway, hopefully a (second??) Sewer Trial won't involve Dr. V, he's already got two TFs and a story arc. That's enough exposure for him, I think. -
Are you exemplared down 4 or more levels below the level of the IO?
EDIT: Wait, I thought you meant IOs like Numina's: +Regen/+Recovery. Let me be more specific: Are you exemplared down 4 or more levels below the highest level IO you have slotted in that power? In the case of Mako's Bite, if you have (for example) 3 pieces slotted at level 40, and you exemp down to 36 or below, you lose that set bonus.
I find this really difficult to explain, this page on the wiki explains it more thoroughly. -
This is the first I'm hearing about it, to be honest.

No, those bosses have been around for ages. You just don't see most of them very often because the Tsoo have a ridiculous amount of boss variety compared to other factions.

Quote:I found nothing confusing about choosing between Atlas and Galaxy when I created my first character (CoV was a few months away from release at this point). "Oh, I can choose one of these two cities as my starting place. Cool." Not really a big mental hurdle. It's an epically brilliant idea
- streamlining the starting low-level area to one zone ala Rogue Isles/Praetoria. Makes a lot more sense than giving new players (and when I say new I don't mean a new toon a veteran player is rolling) a confusing choice of where to start.

it just occurred to me, it sure would be nice if Mercy could get a bit of a revamp along with Atlas. Admittedly, it doesn't need it quite as much as Atlas does, but it would be nice.

Quote:The Other Game has lots more things wrong with it than its stories (I assume, I couldn't never play it long enough to get into any of the stories). It actually kinda makes more sense to only have one tutorial and you actually get more Freedom in that you can start any AT on either side now.
The only problem I have with it is that the "other superhero game" tutorial keeps poping into my head everytime they talk about destroying Galaxy during the tutorial. Aliens, lots of rubble,.....
If I wanted to play that other game I would. Hopefully they have original enough storelines in the new Galaxy arcs that I won't think about that other stomach turning abomination of a game. -

Quote:Wait, I knew that this would be the new tutorial, but I hadn't heard that they would be outright removing Outbreak and Breakout. In i21 Galaxy City will be hit by meteorites and will be come the new combined training zone. Heroes and Villains ATs will no longer go through Outbreak/Breakout zones. At the end of the tutorial you will be able to decide if you want your toon to go blue or red side.
Here's the link to an official announcement: Galaxy's last Stand
No, I don't like that at all. Let me choose.
