ATI Catalyst 11.6

Since upgrading to ATI Catalyst 11.6 I've been getting pretty regular crashes upon loading a map (usually Peregrine Island) that don't generate a crash dialogue. The map gets to about two fifths loaded on the loading bar and then just freezes, requiring that the COH.exe be terminated from task manager.

Is anyone else getting this too?

System:

XFI audio
Intel q6600
4gigs 800MHZ RAM
ATI XFX 6870 HD
Windows 7 64-bit

Yep. Roll back to an earlier driver.

Put in 11.6 on a clean install, crashed constantly.
Clean remove, went back to .5 for me (others have had to go back earlier) - works fine.

Look at the main stickied thread in this forum bro. A number of users, myself included, are having issues with this game and ATI cards, although it seems to really hammer you if you have a 64bit Windows 7 combined with current ATI Catalyst installed. It's some real B.S. and it currently makes the game essentially unplayable for me, with regular crash intervals of 30 minutes or less.

Thank you for the advice guys, I'll go and read up on rollbacks since I've never needed to perform one.

Exactly this. When it isn't crashing, it freezes every couple of seconds.

I'm still on 10.9. I tried upgrading to 11.3ish a few days ago but it ruined my ability to alt-tab while zoning (which is critical as I don't have the attention span to sit there and look at purdy pictars). It seems 10.9 is the latest that works right for me.
