  1. My understanding was that the various Doctors lose their memories of the events they've just partaken in, since otherwise (they|he)'d be crossing (their|his) own timeline and have direct knowledge of (their|his) own future.

    Or just wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey.
  2. "Stormageddon" reserved on Pinnacle.
  3. Multiple Doctor stories aren't canon anyway, are they?
  4. He did. His complaint is that there's no pre-made costume set in the costume creator, as there is with other costume sets.

I don't really get this complaint. What did you "risk"? What have you lost that you expected to get? You still have access to every single piece you purchased. They're all there, and they're all called "Barbarian X" (where X is the name of the piece in question), so you shouldn't need to guess which ones they are. It would definitely be nice if they updated the set list as they haven't done so in a while, but it's hardly a gamebreaker.

Relax for a bit and enjoy the game.
  5. I'm really hoping Christopher Eccleston doesn't keep being stubborn and refuse to do the 50th anniversary, because I feel like him not being there would just ruin it.
  6. You can't get everything for free. You may have been paying for it, but if you stop paying you lose access to some things (although with sufficient Reward Tokens you can keep access to them, bar Incarnate stuff which does require an active sub).
  7. While I'm at it I'll make a point of also checking the "wrong" checkbox on my account.

What's the measure for preventing instant T1->T9 then?
  8. It has nothing to do with that, it's to prevent you from being able to go from Tier 1 to Tier 9 instantly by purchasing enough Paragon Points to get the required amount of Tokens.

This wouldn't be an entirely inaccurate description of Batman and Robin, actually.

Sorry I just re-read this and really??? I don't think you understood the meaning behind the image I posted, I was most definitely demeaning, if not his opinion, then certainly his argument.
  11. I don't think you can change it. That's the point.
  12. You may find this shocking but you don't actually need to be on a full team at all times in order to play this game.
  13. How about all those game arcs that keep insisting that my purely robotic characters have things like DNA and blood?

My Elec^3 Blaster should also have power over magnetism as a consequence of his mastery of electricity, but the closest you can get to this in-game currently is MAYBE FF and/or Grav, but he's a Blaster so both of those are out anyway.

Sighhhhh I'm used to it, believe me. I used to get "DarkGlob" all the time on AOL in the late 90s.

Would love this to happen as soon as possible, really don't want to take my mermaid scrapper redside just to get leviathan powers. maybe also make things fair by letting heroes fight recluse solo, rather than forcing us to do the stf or rv to get a poke at him(or a very lucky safeguard mission)
This is the best option. Just making them globally available without requiring any unlock defeats the whole purpose of having them themed. You don't have to defeat Statesman for any Hero APP because 1) Heroes don't generally fight each other without some sort of mind control, mysticism, misunderstanding, or other jiggery-pokery going on, and 2) None of the APPs are themed. The PPPs are meant to represent you either being granted or stealing the power of the given Patron (the latter is not official but it's how many players choose to interpret it).

Maybe the arc could even run in parallel with the redside arc, having you first fight an aspiring patronee (???), then the Patron themselves.
  17. I'm sorry but I cannot get over the hilarious irony of you playing a mute character.

I really do mean that in the nicest possible way.

Sorry if you don't see it this way.

I am perfectly happy with a couple free days. WoW did it, and other MMOs did it (Rift I believe did, or maybe another MMO I'm getting confused for RIft) so there is perfectly no good reason for them not to do so. It's a good PR move. Maybe they should make it optional though so you guys who really like the downtime can opt out and enjoy it more.

Nobody is saying "YESSSS I LOVE DOWNTIME AND I DON'T THINK THE DEVS SHOULD GIVE US ANYTHING FOR IT EVER".

What we are saying is that they are not obligated to do so and they owe nothing to us. You're right that there's not really a good reason not to, but there also aren't any spectacular reasons to do it. (Although I think if they were going to do it, Paragon Points would be the better choice than free game time. It's a lot more tangible, at least as tangible as you can get in a video game.)

By the way, what was the downtime on those other MMOs? Comparable to what we're experiencing? How about their populations? And a follow-up question on something that I don't believe anyone has addressed, what has happened with other NCSoft games having downtime?

Thanks for answering the question I wasn't sure I wanted answered. I am now sure that I did not want it answered.

It does, which is reason enough not to keep it since the "lame-*** hero skin" is the default.

This. You get 400 points (550 if you're Tier 9) FREE every month. No, as a VIP you cannot get everything instantly unlocked for free. But if you wait a bit, you can get the stuff you want most, delay the stuff you don't want as much.

Also, Stephen Hawking is not the only one who doesn't believe you can break the lightspeed barrier.
  24. Barf. I was happy to see that ugly color go away, I'm disappointed that I'm still going to have to see it, but at least I don't have to have it.

Yes, what you were copying was not the direct link but rather a link to Imageshack's image viewer page for that particular image. So basically the forum was trying to use a web page as your avatar, which didn't work because that would just be silly.
