  1. Just tested this and I can confirm that it's a repeatable bug. Dark Armor/Battle Axe Tanker on Defiant.

Name displays as Ubiquitous for: player name above my head (for myself and other players), ID and player info, team window on my end, in chat.

Name displays as Very Common for: character list, team window for teammates.

This is the weirdest damn bug I've ever seen.

City of Heroes: I don't believe we've announced what will become of Adamaster, but we will definitely let players know where to find him post-revamp.
Wasn't it said at the Player Summit that Adamastor will be relocated to Talos?

I should point out that in real life we shouldn't be able to hear the explosions from that spaceship, either, since there's no air in space for sound to travel through.

In short, just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show, I should really just relax."
Explosions making noise in space is extremely common in science fiction, to the point where they may be ignored despite the physical impossibility.

Hanging out in a vacuum without any additional explanation is an entirely different story.

  7. I still don't think anything could make any of those TFs fun at any time ever.

Four or five Telepathists in I hit Ion instead of Power Push. Yes, it was an accident. I announced it in league immediately. And apologized. Profusely.
I've never dealt with Telepathists in any run I've done, but for the first stage with the cameras, I've made a point of making a version of my main power tray that has all the non-ST powers removed, just so I don't accidentally hit the wrong power and destroy a camera (I did it once, and it wasn't a big deal and didn't really hurt us much at all, but that was enough for me).

You don't even get Incarnate powers on two of the Shard TFs, since they cap at level 44.

Either the red star should have been set longer, or it should have been passed to someone "more capable" first so that this wouldn't happen.

    Sorry.

I don't think you're remembering the episode correctly, I'm pretty sure this never happened. He and Martha opened the windows to the hospital, but they only survived because the hospital was surrounded by a pocket of atmosphere. Also, he needed a suit just to walk on Mars (Waters of Mars).

Couldn't you all have just voted to kick the person who kept doing that?

I agree with you as I'd prefer to have my villains doing actual villainous content, BUT. Part of the problem is that blueside is much more popular than redside. Has been since Issue 8 (after the brief period during Issues 6 and 7 when people said "devs hate heroes" and seriously meant it). This means that any content developed exclusively for redside won't be played nearly as much and may even fall to the wayside entirely. From a developer's point of view, there's not a lot of motivation to develop content under those circumstances. And I agree, it sucks, but co-op really does bypass that in a convenient way, and to a certain degree it does make sense that heroes and villains would work together against a greater foe that seeks to destroy them all (think about Galactus, Onslaught, the Infinity Gauntlet).

I'm not sure why you're bringing up Notices (I assume? there are no Notes of the Well), but I've already stated that the solo path probably won't be superior or even equal to trials, so I'm not sure where you got this particular strawman from.

It will, however, be a solo path, and given that we already have a handful of solo options for acquiring threads 'n such, it's reasonable to assume that the solo path will be at least somewhat viable (otherwise there's no point). And as much as I should not say "they're making a solo path so shut up" before seeing what it's like, you shouldn't say "it's gonna suuuuuuuuck".

If you haven't read Silverlock, do so and perhaps you would have a different reply.
Your idea of fun is not an objective definition, quit treating it like one.

You're getting your solo path, you can stop complaining.

Really? You get a free Notice that you can use towards crafting a Rare Alpha which will give you a much better bonus than the Flames.

Do you not count fighting an invading army from another universe as saving the world???

Yes, you need to drop your ridiculously high expectations, as well as your needlessly grandiose and obtuse analogies and bizarre sense of entitlement in a video game about superheroes.

Also, unless you eschew team content entirely (which is a different and valid argument), you've probably run more than 12 TFs, almost all of which are long than Incarnate trials.

Look, I'm not saying there's no room for a solo path, but you have ALWAYS gotten better rewards from team-only content. Don't expect that to change.

In my opinion the devs have made an incredibly stupid mistake. This game is about alts, fun and progression. They added a huge time sink right at the end. Instead of Valhalla where hero can fight and be drunk on battle and mead - we have an anchor slowing us down.

You want to be a super hero above all other heroes? Great just do 120 trials. ON EACH CHARACTER. The most incredible silliness that I can think of is that someone approved of it. Do it once and then each character has to do each trial ONCE to unlock it - now that makes good sense.

I will suspend judgement for myself on the solo/small team content and see if it makes sense. The Alpha slot was very well done, i do the arc get the slot and then play as I always did and progress. This is PUNISHMENT to progress and it reminds me of the Pit in the book Silverlocke - where in this case those who seek to better themselves take on a task where the goalposts are moved just as they reach it.

Faustopheles himself could not have devised a better punishment.

I will instead take the Delian way and head to Hippocrene to drink and enjoy the fun the game has and leave the Pit to those who need to wallow in it.
You realize most of the trials can be run as quickly as (or quicker than) most TFs in the game, right? The only one that's really lengthy is The Underground trial. Minds of Mayhem, TPN and Keyes will all take less time than your typical ITF, and BAF and Lambda are even faster. (And the longer trials offer greater rewards.)

Smaller trials won't be faster, if anything they might be slower because you have fewer people working together. The solo path will definitely be at least a little slower, because otherwise the trials will die and the devs don't want that to happen (even if you do).

P.S. I'm an altaholic too and have quite a bit of interest in all Incarnate stuff, be they large trials, Incarnate TFs, and solo content (well, okay, I have to wait and see on this one, but I'm interested in theory).

P.P.S. It doesn't take 30 trials to create an ability, not sure where you got this whackadoodle idea. Maybe that many to get all the way up to a Very Rare, but really a Rare ability will suffice for pretty much all of the slots unless you're a huge min-maxer (which, if you are, is a choice). I mean, hell, you don't even need to finish TPN in order to get 60 threads (not counting whatever drops off enemies, nor any Astrals you've gotten up to that point) which can be turned into 3 Common components that can be used to create a Common ability. Complete the trial and you get 2 Empyreans which can be turned into another two Commons, plus whatever you get off the reward roll, plus probably another Common off the Astrals you've gotten. See, right there you've crafted up to an Uncommon ability, with a single half-hour trial. SUCH A GRIND.

    BOOOOOOOOOOO

Y'know, I get that non-VIPs aren't necessarily paying customers, but they're potential paying customers, even if they don't sub. VIPs should definitely get a higher level of support, but I would think a GM could take 5 damn seconds to clear out a bugged mission or unstick a player from a wall or something.

I read it the same as the OP, it came off as being a somehow more rude of saying "lrn2play n00b".

Anyway: Do you remember if you had been working on Ramiel's arc the last time you played, before Freedom? (When WAS the last time you played, specifically?) Also, just so we're clear, is this the mission where you fight Trapdoor in the Council base with the lava room at the end, and his bifurcations appear?

If the answer is yes, then I would surmise that breaking VIP status in the middle of this VIP-only arc has somehow broken it. You could try speaking to Ramiel in person in Ouroboros so see if that at least clears it, but otherwise you may just be stuck with it.

Also, this whole thing about the response you got for the support ticket. Did you file this through the NCSoft support website, or via an in-game petition? Because I have to say, it's kind of crummy if non-VIPs can't at least get support from GMs when they encounter game-breaking bugs. Who wants to pay for a game with impassable bugs?
  21. Ohhh, so you are doing Mender Ramiel's arc? Incarnate stuff is VIP only, if you're not VIP any more that might account for why it won't let you progress.
  22. What does Operative Grillo have to say? (I'm assuming you're doing his mission since as a non-VIP I don't think Mender Ramiel should talk to you at all.)
