So this topic came up on a Really Hard Way run last night (which is an entirely
different
story
). The key, we believe (and I have not seen confirmation of this first-hand, I'm just trusting my sources), is that Tyrant has minimal if any resistance to psionic damage. But if that's the case, wouldn't Mother Mayhem have controlled him long ago? I mean sure, she's nutty enough to just go along with what he was doing, but it's hard to believe she'd be satisfied with playing second banana if she could actually be running the whole show herself. (How do we know she didn't? Presumably Tyrant would have snapped out of it after we defeated Mother in Minds of Mayhem.)

Jack Emmert didn't create Darrin Wade.
More seriously, even if the devs do plan to eventually have him disappear from the game world, it's likely that they decided to save that work until a later Issue so that they wouldn't be changing too much at once (less margin for error that way).
As far as him continuing to hand out missions after killing Statesman, that still takes place before WWD chronologically. If you create a brand new villain right now, and by level 30 play up through WWD and Darrin Wade's arc, the timeline is consistent since you don't even know what he's up to until later in WWD (which won't open up to your villain until after you've passed Wade's level range as a contact).
Not true, this is another example of how level ranges enforce continuity. Young Penny's level range is 15-19, but adult Penny won't allow anyone below level 20 to run her task force. Yes, it's a pretty big time jump, but it's roughly consistent. -
Floating energy disc, yes? Sounds science/techy to me. Would work great for a Vanguard-themed character (I guess they're techno-mages but still).

Well maybe if you were more than a halfthief you would have more money. Maybe it's time to step up to fullthievery.
P.S. If you can afford a sub, you can afford (assuming infinite inf since this is a real money conversation) all the nice stuff. If you can't afford a sub, well, before F2P you wouldn't have been able to play. At all. No, not even with SOs. No, not even with a generic white costume. The best you could do is load up the game and gaze longingly at the login screen, and maybe if you were feeling really crazy you would type in your login and password and click Login, just to get a message telling you that you're too poor to play the game at all. With the rush of excitement gone from that brief hope that your account had re-enabled itself by mistake, you close the game screen and go outside to enjoy a warm beautiful day, or maybe cuddle up with a loved one underneath the covers on a frigid winter evening. Or maybe you would finally start that novel you always wanted to write. The point was, you had options. But now, you have no options. Now you are forced to play a game for free (I don't wish to be crude but I nearly threw up just typing that) because you can't afford to pay for it. There is no summer, there is no winter, there are no loved ones and no Great American Novels. There is only you with your free costume pieces and Single Origin enhancements and lack of Incarnate powers.
Can I have your stuff? -
DarkGob is feeling:
@Neuronia: Attempts are Tuesday/Thursday nights at 8 PM EST/5 PM PST (or I guess it's EDT now? I can never keep that crap straight). -
The picture they used for the article is my biggest gripe about comic book movies. Let them wear their damn masks. All of Raimi's Spider-Man movies pulled that garbage, and even Iron Man does it (although at least the way they did it for him makes sense and isn't just convenient battle damage). Also, killing off every. Single. Villain. The biggest way The Dark Knight would have been ruined for me is if it had echoed the 1989 movie and Joker had fallen to his death (but not before Batman's cowl conveniently fell off revealing his identity to the Joker, who clearly cannot be allowed to survive with this knowledge).
I read this article earlier today and thought most of it was meandering criticism applied to stories that don't really need that degree of analysis (I'm sorry Avengers wasn't deep enough for you, buddy boy, maybe an in-depth documentary about gender relations in Afghanistan would be more to your liking). Although I do agree with point 2 that the movies have become WAY too commercialized with corporate tie-ins, but that's how you get money to make things these days I guess. Welcome to American culture, ain't it grand? -

My Linux is rusty, but one place to start would be running
Code:which should tell you where you have it installed. If it's not in any of the directories listed in your compiler error (and evidently it's not), that might give you a clue of what went wrong.dpkg-query -L [package name of XML::Simple] (no square brackets) if you don't know the package name, try dpkg-query -L *XML*Simple*

Quote:is a character named Tyrant
* which those who do not know history think means bad ruler whereas it really just means one came to power not in the usual way and was the term for many great leaders in history
Really just trying very hard not to Godwin this thread from the get-go. -
+1 on Bots/Dark, I soloed Adamastor, Kraken, Babbage, Paladin and a Rikti Pylon on him -- all before Incarnates. Jurassik I got down to 50% HP but couldn't get much beyond that, he ran/jumped around too much to keep DPS on him. And like I said before, Ghost of Scrapyard is tough for several reasons (I think I tried once, gave up pretty quickly).

Twinshot has 3 arcs in different level ranges, you just completed the first one. After you complete the second one at level 10, you'll have to wait until level 15 for her third arc.

Ran 3 Magesterium trials tonight, on the third one Tyrant didn't shrink, he just remained tall but conned at 54-8 and we were able to defeat him. Still, it reminded me of this thread so I thought I'd mention it.

Considering you're the only one reporting it (and I'm not even really clear on what specifically the bug is since you're being incredibly unclear in your descriptions), at worst it's a very elusive bug that the devs can hardly be blamed for not fixing.
Also, insert Standard Code Rant here. -
Quote:Don't forget, the Assault Bot blasts have -Regen.Time Manipulation can probably do it with a lot of recharge in order to keep Time Crawl and Time Stop stacked.
Power Boost or Power Build Up would be nice as well.
Maybe on a Mastermind, but a Defender would get the most benefit of the Time Manipulation powers (plus they can get Power Build Up) -
Might Cognitive Interface also be of value?

Does the fact that Freedom Freebies is for a limited time mean that this program is now in "gamma" (following beta) and will later return in a similar form permanently?

Quote:Scrapyard is one of the more difficult GMs to solo because 1) he likes to run, 2) he spawns near drones and 3) he can desummon automatically. You know, I keep seeing people saying how MM are great for hunting GMs, but frankly my thugs/time can't ever get them to stand still. I think I have the 'umph' to take one down, but I keep trying for scrapyard whenever I see the message about him, but all he does is just run away. I can't seem to make him stand still long enough to lay down some dps on him.

I had thought the dev stance was that the VEATs didn't get weapon customization because they're story-based ATs, but checking the wiki I see that they've gotten some of the newer stuff (Steampunk/Celestial/Mecha rifles, Ice/Fire maces). That being the case, Widows should definitely also get customization.
