I managed to snag Dark Ring Mistress for a Dark/Psy Defender I made. I made the best Carnie costume I could manage with the costume pieces available (pretty much Jester Mask + witch leather), but managed to snag a Ring Mistress costume code in a contest, which completes the character.
I was also a little surprised when I got Qubit for my Bots/Dark MM that I made a couple weeks after CoV went live. I guess it's a relatively obscure computing concept, but I figured someone would have taken it. -
Rularuu is the Coming Storm:
Quote:hthStormwatcher
It was here that Earth's explorers first encountered the mysterious entities of the Shadow Shard. Their threat was implicit and the need to keep them contained became a driving force in the establishment of Tempest Sector. As a representative of Paragon City, you have joined the fight to prevent the denizens of the Shadow Shard from extending their range into your home dimension. Some see their discovery of Primal Earth's dimension as inevitable; a "coming storm" which could rival the Rikti Invasion in destructive potential. -
Clearly nobody else in this thread got it, but I just wanted to say that I appreciated your reference, at least.

Just did a test on a new Psychis Blast Blaster in Outbreak. No debuffs reported on combat attributes. I tend to agree with WoefulKnight, I think you're confusing the damage buffs from Defiance with debuffs.

I must be missing something -- all I get is "story not found".

After working on a costume design the other day, I realized one Booster Pack item that needs desperate fixing: Cyborg Boots.
Look at the hideous texture on these things. The shins are fine but the feet themselves are awful. It looks like an Issue 1 costume piece, and it even looks bad by those standards. -

Quote:I'm not talking about the Alpha Slot and the single level shift that comes with it, I'm talking further down the line, when we have multiple Incarnate powers and multiple level shifts. Remember how you curbstomped all those AVs in Ramiel's first mission? We probably won't ever be THAT powerful but it'll be close, I'm sure.Hogwash. Some fully purpled out toons are already doing things that an Incarnate can. Easily. Alpha isn't all that that it makes every toon suddenly impressive, and from what I've seen nor are the upcoming slots vs purpled out toons. If you are fully purpled it doesn't do all that.

Quote:keep in mind that if you load an old build into the current version, it won't convert to Inherent Fitness automatically. Instead, it will be treated as a LEGACY BUILD (you will see this displayed where inherent powers are listed). If you deselect your fitness powers, you should be granted inherent fitness automatically.Alright. I am unable to get online to see my build right now, but I will soon.
About the Mids' Designer, I had downloaded it just yesterday, but I didn't see and signs of Fitness being Inherit, because I was still able to get it in the Power Pools part of it. I'll check again. -
Quote:I think the issue is not that players will become bored, but rather that players will be doing things that the devs don't want them doing (an this is entirely speculation since they've made no comment about it yet).*shrug* If you find the TFs and other content too easy with your level shift and Alpha, just crank up the difficulty slider. That's what it's there for (and if you were already doing +4 before, well, you're stuck with either unslotting or with it being slightly easier and I have no sympathy for you :P).

I ran an LGTF last night where we took down the mitos first, then the pylons, then Hami. No issues there.

Quote:The wording has nothing to do with it. People have become so used to (and let's face it, spoiled by) set bonuses that they think the newest shiny should also work like them. Putting aside your needless pedantry, set bonuses are just powers that enhance your base attributes, they're not enhancements at all, nor do they function like them. It's wording like this that confuses people.
The Alpha Slot is NOT a global enhancement. Global enhancements are mostly from set bonuses.
The Alpha Slot is a Global PER-POWER RESTRICTIONS Enhancement. It buffs every power that can be buffed by its effects via normal slotting. People keep calling it a global enhancement when it does not actually function as such. -
Quote:I just don't see how it works otherwise, though. I mean, the LGTF and ITF are already completely trivialized with the Alpha Slot (even the major sticking point in the latter, Hamidon, can run pretty smoothly with just a few deaths), and the same is rapidly becoming true of the STF and LRSF. How much easier will these encounters become once we get the AoE powers from Judgement? The extra pet from Lore? How about you add on the team buffs from Destiny? Not to mention if we get more level shifts.I pray this doesn't happen. This would create a horrible dichotomy between Incarnate content and non-Incarnate content. Some characters are completely legitimised by their Incarnate global buffs and stealing those hard earned slots away whenever one strays into the vast majority of game content would be a gigantic kick in the 'nads.
If I'm playing a character who suffers large problems with blue outside of his Incarnate slotting then returning to content that gives me this headache again after having seen how awesome he can be without recovery issues would just make me cringe.

I do see one other option, and that is to provide a harder Incarnate version of those TFs, where if enabled it also enables your Incarnate slots (higher than Alpha, as it's safe to assume they probably won't take it away at this point), but if it's disabled, so are your non-Alpha slots. -
You don't have the most recent Mids' then, because it has been updated for both Inherent Fitness and the Alpha Slot.
It might be helpful to post your current build so we can see what you're working with. -
I'm reasonably sure the OP (of this month-old thread...) got frustrated with the game not catering to his exacting whims and ragequit.

Doy, I was doing the math wrong. Mids can take into account Hasten's effect on itself, but AFAIK the in-game real numbers never do, even when the power is active.
Anyway, the rest of what I said still stands. I don't really know what you expected, but the Common boost does give a noticeable difference, albeit small, but you will notice it more and more and you proceed up the tree. -
This would be great but I can't see them making a non-bugfix change to any of the Boosters.

Quote:You only have the Common boost. Uncommon, Rare and Very Rare boosts bypass more ED, up to 2/3 of the boost (so on your 3 recharge-slotted Hasten, approximately 22% with the VR). Also, a power's improvement by a given Alpha boost will not be as much as another power's if the first power is already ED-capped while the second power isn't slotted at all. You also get a level shift with the Rare and Very Rare boosts.Ok I re-read this. For the Dom, from the enhacenment screen, it's showing as 3 minutes 48 seconds without the Spiritual Boost and 3 minutes 38 seconds with the Spiritual Boost.
Clicking on the info button on the power shows 3 minutes 48 seconds in both cases.
The info from the official site and from the different displays is quite misleading. This isn't nearly as potent as it looks.
Actually I'm a little confused by your numbers though, your recharge time without the Spiritual is 3:48? I just pulled up Mids, unless you haven't slotted Hasten at all I don't see why its recharge time is anything more than 3 minutes. 3-slotted Hasten + Spiritual Common + 96.25% global recharge should be just about enough to make it perma (depending on whether you've slotted level 30 or level 50 recharge IOs). -
Domination isn't affected by the Alpha Slot because it can't be enhanced. Hasten should be though. Go onto your enhancement screen and look at the real numbers for Hasten before and after equipping your Alpha Slot. it may only be a difference of a couple seconds with the Common boost, but it should be different.

I got a prepaid MasterCard for Christmas and used it to buy...I think it was the Cyborg and Science Boosters. You should have no problems with it.
-
I figure if it's going to happen again, it won't be at least until the 7-year anniversary.

Quote:Which is exactly what they did last time.Actaully, I think this is still a semi-costume contest - if they're picking out 3 people per server, it's likely they'll pick people who have eye-catching avatars or have something about their outfit that they like - they're not asking everyone to line up to be juidge this time, but they might be just scanning the room for 3 costumes they like instead.
-
The Party Pack giveaway was a competition, and it didn't take "all night". Avatea went around looking at costumes and picked 3 she liked. Pretty simple.
EDIT: Was I mistaken about how the last one worked? Or did marketing have a fit and say no more costume contests? -
Really disappointed that this is random. I thought it was gonna be a costume contest like past giveaways.
