  1. I also actually found it dangerous.

    One second I was fighting in a heated battle (2 spawns at once), we were taking damage, and it looked a little risky. The grav dom hits their 'oh shoot' button. Next thing, I can't tell who's held, who's not. Meanwhile I'm taking damage over and over and everyone I'm targeting and hitting is 'unaffected'.

    The DS effect looks the same as the Crushing Field/Gravity Distortion effects. The shifted foes are still targetable. The shifted foes are still launching attacks. How are you supposed to sort out who needs to be held/killed in the middle of all that?
  2. To be honest, PToD aren't that bad. All it takes is 3-4 players with holds (any AT) to stack enough mag to permahold an AV through PToD. And as many on this forum like to point out when dismissing doms, corruptors and MMs have access to a lot of holds, so you don't even need that many doms on your team.

    At any rate, your suggestion is a good one, but you're a day late and a dollar short.

    The devs spent all the time allotted to 'fixing' dominators by moving their dmg from domination to all the time, then hammering recharge and endurance costs to 'balance' the boost.

    A bigger shame though is that does little to address the real challenges faced by doms:

    1) downgraded EBs with PToD (you lower your difficulty to make it easier to solo, not harder)
    2) PToD up/down ratio (is PToD up too long? can dominated holds lower that time or AV abilityt [as you're suggesting])
    3) lack of new powersets with anti-AV effects like -to hit, -regen, -resistance (slows, -end don't really have much effect... -rch and -DEF are decent)

    Oh, well. Maybe the newbs and drive-by experts will come around someday and focus their complaints in the right direction.
  3. Confirmed.

    Saw it last night when our grav used DS. Not only were the mobs hard to distinguish regarding affected or not, but yes, they were still attacking. And to make it worse because our team had a lot of -DEF, his DS actually hit the target cap even though not slotted for ACC.

    Move the power to slot 8. Move wormhole in its place. Take it if you want it. Leave it if you don't. Grav now has solid early AoE control. Problems solved for everyone.

    We played this last night, and man that was some brutal fighting. The mobs had pretty much every power under the sun from mez to debuff to stealth. It was like battling a pack of MMs and Dominators in a PvP zone.

    It's definitely not for an average PuG. You might want to put a disclaimer up for that. I can see a lot of people whining about the heavy use of confuse and invis.

    I actually enjoyed getting confused because then I could throw thorns at Dr. Wormwood!

    IDK, but I know the Countess kept targeting me. I'm pretty sure those were her creepers that pwnd me on that lab map.

    That means veterans will finally be able to overcome all the accuracy nerfs that come out each new issue.

  7. For those upset by the PvP recipe drop change:

    Blame the farmers who flaunted their activity by openly, repeatedly and shamelessly rez-killing alts on the platform of the villain base in BB.

    This is yet another example of how farming hurts the game. Not too many people care if someone farms, but when it becomes so obvious that the devs nerf it, it hurts EVERYONE who was playing as intended.

    I made a new Brimstone Club MArc called 'The Banishing' for lvl 25-30 characters.

    It uses in-game characters for inspiration and is really seated in our group's growing storyline.

    It's only 3 missions long, but the last mission has an AV (someone you might recognize).

    If we get a chance after the badge missions, I'd like to test run it with a large team.

    Yeah, I'd like to run it again and be smarter about stealthing certain parts.

    I have the Viscountess at 22 and von Ruwen at 25. Either one is ready to go. I'll be online today a bit (Sat). If we can drum up a team, I'd be willing to go for it.

    More Bosses now?

    Similar experience noted by myself a couple days ago. I was duoing with another dom in HTTT who was +1 lvl to me. So I bumped my diff up to setting 3 to get +1 mobs to match his level, but keep the number of mobs low as we were both just into our 20s.

    Anyway, we definitely noticed that there sure were a ton of bosses on that map. Rather than your standard 5 mins or 2 mins + 1 lieu, we were also getting a lot of 1 min + 1 boss spawns. It wasn't a huge problem, but was unexpected and the fights were a bit more challenging.

    IDK. As an aside, I've always felt setting 3 was the most difficult for some reason. Seems to produce tougher spawns than setting 5 although I've never actually counted.

    Team 2 had every primary but ice. von Hirsh was our fire. We picked up a grav when Scarlet Infusion logged onto HTTT2 and was nice enough to mal down to join us. That brought us to 6.

    We finished our SF in about 2.5 hrs. The Freakshow mission was probably the worst from a death standpoint. Those ambushes came out of nowhere, kept coming, were huge, and seemed to chase you around the map.

    How long did it take Team 1? And whatever happened to Lady Hellfrost? That's Jayboh's dom isn't it? Did you guys run yours with just 5 doms?

    Anyway, I like that SF. It's got a good range of foes and different obstacles to overcome. It also helps it pays like 35 merits. We should run it again. I think we can speed it along with some more stealthing. I'd also like to try attacking that raider base from the top instead of hiking all the way up from the bottom. Anyone ever tried that?

    Last thing: I did finally manage to get the Strike Breaker mission today. I had to get Wormy out first before Lorenz would give it to me, but he finally did. That badge is needed for Megalomaniac Accolade. So if you want it, I'll have it for Sunday. Problem is only 8 people max, so we'll need someone else to get the mission for team 2.

    We seem to be just shy of 2 full teams each outing with some folks coming later and some folks leaving earlier, but maybe the new blood we got yesterday will even things out and make it easier for everyone to get a team as soon as they log.

    See you this weekend. I'll be around with Viscountess de Lune to see if she can get Strike Breaker, too.

    I'm working on getting Strike Breaker as we speak although it's with the Viscountess de Lune. I'd it on both my Brimstone Clubbers as it's needed for Megalomaniac Accolade.

    I can play either the Viscountess (lvl 22) or the Baron von Ruwen (lvl 23) for the SF. I'll most likely go with Baron as his DEF debuffs will make short work of Sky Raider FF.

    I recommend everyone planning to do the SF(s) grab either or both temp stealth/invis powers from Bloody Bay and Sirens Call patrol missions.

    See there's a difference between what you just did (inflammatory remarks with the express purpose of inciting the poster to respond with equally inflammatory remarks) and what the missing threads were doing (heated discussion between posters over controversial topics).

    Your post is against forum rules whereas the deleted ones were not.
  15. Thanks for the insight, River. I'm not going to blow my stack yet, but I am concerned. The missing threads were certainly spirited, but no one went over the top that I read. I just want to know what's happening. Rules violations? Which ones? Why no warning or message? If the thread was so hot, why not just lock it? Or if someone was being so offensive, why not just sanction that person?

    I'd also like to see if we could run my MA arc before we do Silver Mantis. I rant it a few times solo to get a feel for the powers I chose for my baddies, but I've yet to run it on larger teams to see how it goes.

  21. Just wondering why posts keep getting deleted on this forum. I just had another stricken from the Thanks for the Buffs thread. And all I said was I didn't notice a huge difference and I'm waiting to see what will happen in another couple weeks?

    It wasn't flaming, it was on topic, it didn't use curse words, it didn't call out the devs.

    I guess the 5th Column really is back and they're censoring this forum.

    It's good for anytime you would get pwnd standing in plain sight of the group you want to mass mezz.

    Let's say they have mezzing capability and you know they're going to get a shot off on you before your mezz takes them out.

    Or it's a boss or mezz resistant foe that's going to need a stacked hold. If you worm them first, then queue your hold, you'll get one on the boss before he even starts to get up. You can then hit him a second time with your hold or quickly stack with you AoE hold, or Singy's hold.

    It's also good for herding a 2nd group into your 1st. This is most beneficial if you have enough AoE dmg to take them all out, or your team does. It speeds things up as you don't have to travel across the room.

    It's also good in those multi-level rooms where your target is above you and in order to target with a normal AoE control, you'll have to be in LOS, which will probably expose you to the other groups' LOS as well.

    It's also good if you have a teammate with some sort of placeable debuff or trap. You wormhole mobs onto the mines, or oil slick, or caltrops, or quicksand, or whatever.

    It's also a good pulling tool. You WH a mob that's out of LOS, knowing you won't get all his buddies, but they'll aggro. By the time they close the distance to you, you've dispatched/incapacitated the mobs you wormed and have a trap ready for their friends.

    I could go on, but you really have to see it used to understand what it's capable of. I recommend you team with a high level grav and get some experience by observation.

    Glad you're having fun. It's a good time for sure. Reminds me of the original all dom teams we used to field a couple years back. The mesh of powersets brings a tool for every job and everybody is skilled with their toons.

    I don't know if anyone is noticing, but we're getting very powerful. 'd say we're about 2 levels from being unstoppable once all our major powers are on board and slotted up.

    What say you to running the Silver Mantis SF on Thu? Lvl 20-25 vs. lots of sky raiders.
  24. Okay, plant is going to rely heavily on seeds of confusion. So you want an assault set that has a lot of AoE damage fairly early to kill the foes so you don't lose much to the confuse penalty.

    I'd go with:
    Fire has fire breath and combustion.
    Thorns has fling and burst.
    Ice has frost breath and ISC.

    I'd avoid:
    Nrg has.... um... oh, yeah whirling hands.
    Elec has static discharge (no it's not an STD)

    I'd consider:
    Psi has scream and PSW, but both are rather late to the party.
