Can somebody confirm Dimenson Shift
Confirmed.
Saw it last night when our grav used DS. Not only were the mobs hard to distinguish regarding affected or not, but yes, they were still attacking. And to make it worse because our team had a lot of -DEF, his DS actually hit the target cap even though not slotted for ACC.
Move the power to slot 8. Move wormhole in its place. Take it if you want it. Leave it if you don't. Grav now has solid early AoE control. Problems solved for everyone.
Please buff Ice Control.
I saw it used last night.
To me, the only clue I had was "Unaffected" popping up above the enemies heads. They seemed to be able to move and attack and had no visible signs of their special status.
THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED!
For one thing this can be abused and used for griefing purposes.
Another poblem is players in first person view don't see the damage numbers and messages above enemies heads when they are up close and personal.
SOLUTION:
REMOVE the enemies from view and / or selection. Perhaps appear as though they are stealthed or with a glowing aura. They shouldn't be selected via target next enemy/target closest enemy/etc...

I wasn't sure about the Phased Shift targets moving but I guess you guys confirmed for me. I remember freakshows were chasing me but they didn't do damage (and I wasted like 2 holds on them...)
I remember it was HIGHLY confusing as we tried to figure out which targets need to be taken out first. I mean the power itself already has its limited use but the new change makes this power even less desirable as it confuses the hell of everyone.
People were like
"why are they still attacking"??
"Oh wait, they are not doing damage!"
"Oh shoot, we just spent 3-5s figuring out who is actually doing damage!"
"Oh crap, PLEASE DON'T USE THIS POWER AGAIN!"
So, do you think this is a bug?
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
I also actually found it dangerous.
One second I was fighting in a heated battle (2 spawns at once), we were taking damage, and it looked a little risky. The grav dom hits their 'oh shoot' button. Next thing, I can't tell who's held, who's not. Meanwhile I'm taking damage over and over and everyone I'm targeting and hitting is 'unaffected'.
The DS effect looks the same as the Crushing Field/Gravity Distortion effects. The shifted foes are still targetable. The shifted foes are still launching attacks. How are you supposed to sort out who needs to be held/killed in the middle of all that?

I don't care if it breaks the 'Theme' of Gravity... give those affected by this power an OBVIOUS visual effect. Render them Greyscale, paint them a uniform color, or just make them invisible!
I personally think about 75% of the complaints about this power would vanish if it was easy to tell who was under its effect. If that were true, DS would become a very viable panic button type of power.

I can confirm this, that was my Grav Dom "Lady Cromwell". DS really loses its utility as an "Oh $%$$%" power if there's isn't an easy way to tell who's shifted and who's not. Solo I noticed mobs can still attack me. I don't take damage, but it can be very, very confusing. I would think even more so for the inexperienced player. I'll "/bug" this in game as well, maybe someone will take a look and fix.

100% agree. I have DS in my current Grav/Energy Build (don't worry, I only solo with it lol) and it is hard to tell who has been affected and who hasn't.
Swap DS and WH and 90% of Grav's current problems (namely weak early game) are fixed.

For the record, I disagree 100%. Wormhole is a late game power, Grav needs something better for the early game.
Hmmmmm... I had noticed an inability to phase and attack a ds'ed target. I thought it was perhaps something they changed and neglected to mention in patch notes. Maybe not though.
Yeah, they need to:
1. Make the DSed targets much more OBVIOUS so people can waste less attacks/time on a target that is phase shifted.
2. Make DSed targets STAND THERE and DO NOTHING. Please stop them from attacking/running around. The power is already confusing as it is.

With so many people still complaining about the loss of exp from Confused foes, I am not sure how people would take this. It's a neat idea though. It's like those drones killing things in one hit but giving no exp.
I mean I am all for changing Dimension Shift all together to something more practical, something that can be used in every mob instead of just a "panic button". It's not even a very good panic button right now.
How about just a simple Group Lift with 30s recharge?

Move GDF to tier 6, and Wormhole to tier 7. Also add a Disorient to Propel.

What about something that gives the practical effect of phased, but isn't actually phased? All I can think of is super high acc debuff combined with super high def buff, but maybe too exploitable..

For the record: Lilli doesn't play grav// because in his opinion it is subpar((sucks)). I don't really see how a player that can't play the set should be labeled an Arcanalike guru of grav//. Sorry.
Point is that something is definitely wonky with the way dimshift is behaving in game at the moment. Please stick with that.
I think Castle is looking into it now. We'll see if this is a bug or not.
I hope they can just completely change Dimension Shift. Change to something that is more practical.. something with 60-90s recharge range that can be used more frequently.
You know what.. I think I'll actually use Dimension Shift more if it only affects one target.

If DS worked more like Sonic Cage...hmm not a bad idea. But that's a huge change.
I'll just be happy if its fixed to work like it used to. And maybe please if the graphics for it can made a bit more obvious..thought that may be moot with power customization on the horizon.

I believe the power is working like the other phase powers in the game. Phase shift is no longer an "Unaffectable" "Only affecting self" state. It is now it's own new "Phase" state.
In phase you can phase and attack phased critters. So what yall might want is to change the "Phase" portion of it, to something else that works like the old phase used to, where they were just unaffecting.
If you don't believe me, phase yourself then go put Offensive toggles on somebody and start attacking, you can do all of it, but it'll just say unaffected.
that's exactly what teh NPC's are doing. they are being phased but still attacking...they do no dmg or anything at all but I agree it's a pretty nightmarish scenario to think that you've caged your targets when in reality you probably missed most of them.
They could color the NPC's affected or add some kind of particle effect. That's the easiest fix...who knows what they'll do though if anything.
I agree that's probably what happening. The problem is on a large team, if this power is used it makes it dificult to know who to attack and who not to. With the Old DS they just stood there immobilized, the graphics were still hard to see..but a smart person could deduce who was phased and who wasn't.
Now they attack and the attack animation plays as if you're being hit (but not taking damage). This is very confusing and has turned DS into a not very team-friendly power. Grav is a tough set as is it doesn't need any more of a bad-rep than it already has.
Solo it works well enough. But I know how the power works, I don't think a new player is going to have a clue..and will probably be confused as heck.

Would it make sense as a change that, in addition to graphical changes, it eliminated the threat rating and had a blind component so that shifted enemies didn't attack the player? If this affect lasted slightly longer than the actual shift, it would give players enough time to react without enemies immediately coming at them in full force.
All they have to do is recode it to work the way hiber works on people. An unaffecting target, that is not in a phase state.
It's interesting idea to think that you could phase them then some teammates could phase after them to kill the few that you phased out. But it's just a novelty really with no actual practical application.
I wonder if DS could be given an AoE placate effect - all mobs in the targeted AoE will lose aggro on every ally near the caster.
I posted a thread about how annoying DS has become but it seems like not many people have actually used it or seen it in action recently so I've decided to post it in Dominator forum instead.
If my memory serves me correctly, I remember when the targets get Phase Shifted, they just STAND THERE and do nothing but this is like a year ago.
My bro made a Gravity/Thorn and he used DS three times so far and we noticed that the targets that get DSed would STILL ATTACK but we were not taking any damage. We used it on Family group, Freakshow and Council. This is HIGHLY annoying because we had to spend time to figure out which target is actually doing damage that needs to be taken out first.
