  1. What server are you on and what other missions are in your list when the Ouroboros mission aren't up. Also, you should test to see if this happens if you use the a base Pillar of Ice and flame and use the Teleport to Contact.

I have tried this numerous times and it hasn't brought me anywhere except the intended destination.
  2. Commander

    I DID IT!

Did you have to train in Italy, like the commercials state?
  3. Let's see:

Old pieces have a nasty habit of looking horrible with newer costume pieces. What is the sence of going backwards in graphic design just to cater to a few people who want to hold onto the "purity" of their character.

I wish they would redesign every old costume piece and replace them with a new one, just so the "costume purists" can cry nerf and "leave" in the same way the others cry nerf and pretend to leave.

I mean... you're complaining over IMPROVEMENTS!

Look at the old gladiator shoulder and the new one! The old one looked horrible with the new Roman pieces. The old one looked horrible with the OLD costume pieces.

But, I digress, this is the internet... someone has to complain about something, right?
  4. You have to realize, each herocon "no comment" was met with a chuckle and the comment. Even the Going Rogue comment was met with Positron turning to look at the rest of the dev team, leaning into his mic and saying, "no comment."

It's not a maliscious "no comment." It's more of a humorous one because they don't want to spoil the surprise.

And you think people are unjustified in getting paranoid about CO? Well, considering that the company that originally created CoH is now in the process of creating a competing game, promised everything that CoH players wanted in this game, then had their own Dev. team try to recruit players away from CoH by coming to these forums and PM'ing people here and in game... you think that everything is hunky dorey in gamesville?

Products that have competition are more beneficial for... dun dun dun.. the PLAYERS!

So, if you think that it's a stupid reason to say no comment... well, you create a product, I'll make the same thing and I'll offer the consumers the stuff that you say can't be done to your product. Even if I can't offer what I promise, it still makes news because I can claim that I can out-do your product.
  5. For all the complainers about the "lack of information" in the interview:

Every question posed to Positron at herocon '08 that he responded "no comment" to has become (or is in the process of becoming) reality.

CoH for Mac, Going Rogue, Color Customization, etc.

Chances are that the "no comments" are a way of not giving the competition the heads up on what's planned. It's now a competitive market. No sense in giving away all your secrets just to have someone else rush it into a competing game.

Also, City of Villains was announced in 2004... a year before it became a reality. Going Rogue should be no different. It's their way of saying, "We're finally able to do what you wanted... just stick around a bit longer."
  6. Know what I absolutely despise?

Stupid threads that create "controversy" during the weekends... the days that the mods are rarely on. Then, come Monday, the Modsmack comes, the thread gets locked, and it's just 4 more days till someone makes another thread about the same subject.

I'm placing this thread under citizens arrest.

Move along, nothing useful to see here.
  7. Hmm... Just one name?

    *thinks*

Oh yeah... Arachnos Commander! But I love all of my character names on both accounts! :P
  8. The game is owned by NCsoft. No matter what the vision is, or who has it, if the plug has to be pulled or kept plugged in, it's all decided by the NCsoft board of directors.

    Plain and simple.

Even if we had 10,000,000 subscribers, the game is still owned by NCsoft. They could pull the plug on it even if it were making money.

The vision you want to compare, be it Posi's, Emmert's, or even your own are never perfect. There is NOTHING that's perfect. What's enjoyable to some might be hated by the majority. Know what? Deal with it or get out.

Games change, stories evolve... visions are seen in more ways that just the person that makes them a reality.

I've said it before and I'll keep saying it till I'm blue in the face:

If you can not adapt to the changes then you deserve to fail. Evolution happens, whether you like it or not. You either adapt or become a nameless, forgotten soul.

I wont be purchasing any more MA slots, Respecs, Renames and despite how much I want the SUPERSCIENCE booster pack, I'm now not going to be buying that either.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And THIS is the type of thinking that hurts companies that are trying to SURVIVE in an EXTREMELY WEAK economy!

Tell you what, for every booster pack, MA slot, respec or rename you would have purchased, I will purchase for myself and not use. Why? Because this game, this company, this community gives YOU so much more than you have in real life, because you choose to spend time in it, rather than go for a walk or read a book.

    That okay with you, champ?

This thing that gets me is how many people in this world don't look at how the world works, rather they would complain why things don't work the way they feel it should.

Ok, say that NCsoft took EVERY cent they made from CoH and spent it only on CoH. All of their other games and products that don't do as well will feel it, will have staff lose jobs since they don't make as much, and have to close down divisions. Then what does that mean? It means that as a whole company, NCsoft will be conidered a failure and will not get people to invest in future products which will then cause NCsoft to close down... which also means CoH will close down.

Everything in this world survives because of a food chain. Nothing survives in a completely cyclical world since then only thing left on the food chain is yourself.

  10. The thing that gets me... 50% of the OP's posts are double or triple posts of the same topic, just with different subjects. Me thinks a Mod smack is in order.
  11. There's another thing that Galaxy has that Atlas doesn't...

    TGI Fridays.

    >.>
  12. Then, with the influx of players to Galaxy City, the masses will arrive in droves and then call for AE in broadcast and quite possibly request.

This will then throw the balance off in Atlas Park and cause total anarchy. All the while, Miss Liberty will stand there and do nothing, like usual >
  13. Careful guys... he's a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney. From the looks of this thread, he's building his case.

It's amazing though, that someone in such an esteemed position within the legal system, that he would blatantly misrepresent his case by trying to make others think that his message was one made by the development team.

It's no wonder why lawyers are so revered.

  14. I'm actually able to play faster, by clicking powers in the tray. I use a Logitech Tracball which only requires the movement of my thumb. Since I turn the speed settings all the way up on my mouse, I can move from one side of the screen to the other with the slightest movement.

So, while I focus on moving and jumping with the keyboard, I can have a whole set of powers queued with the slightest movement.

The only characters I have that use more than 3 power trays are my Masterminds and Kheldians. Those usually have 6 -7 trays open at any given time. My monitor settings are 1680 x 1050, widescreen.
  15. I'll be there with bells on!

    Seriously... bells!

*Puts the jester costume on his tanker*
  16. Excellent job! Where can I get myself a tshirt?
  17. Easiest solution:

Use Wretch's bodytype for Banes/Crabs since he's Crab Spider (wearing Crab Spider armor.)

Actually, he's wearing both crab and wolf spider armor.. O.o

Can you explain this strategy? Do the nukes weaken hami that much?

    [/ QUOTE ]

When you have THAT many nukes, yes! :P

I'd defer to Sandolphan for the exact strategy, but it was requested that everyone have all 3 Warburg Nukes. Not everyone did, but there was at least 25 people that did have all 3 (if I remember correctly.)

We dropped nukes in stages, mainly to keep from hitting the respawn level of the Mitos.

But, once the first bloom was down, we just barreled through. We waited for each step to drop remaining nukes. Once the call came out for all pets (Shivans, Vanguard Heavies, and anything else anyone had) Hami was down in no time.

One of the coolest raids I've been a part of. I'd like to see another one, but it took a lot of planning, thanks to Sandolphan and EVERYONE that stepped up to lead the teams.
  19. Happy Birthday to an amazing, fun and all around wonderful lil lady!

It's been an honor knowing you and I feel blessed each day you send me a smile.

So, cheers to you on the day of your birth!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KEGAN!!!

  20. To everyone that's in support of the player over the GM/Staff:

As what was previously stated, you are getting the story from a disgrunteled player and his friends. You didn't get any comment, nor will you, from a GM on this matter because it's not THEIR form to air grievances in public.

A GM will not ask you to delete your character. They can only suggest that you do not remake the previously genericed costume or else it can lead to an "escalation" in the matter with Customer Services in which constant infractions can lead to a suspension for defying a GM's ruling. That is if CS sees in the favor of the GM.

As to what the Developers/GM's/CS/NCsoft as a whole should do and shouldn't do: it doesn't matter to us. Why? Because we don't make the rules. We "rent" space within THEIR virtual world that THEY provide to those that agree to follow THEIR rules.

If they want to generic an alt for having a green clover because it reminds them that Lucky Charms cereal also has green clovers, they can and the only thing that you can do about it is:

    a. Escalate the case with customer services
    b. leave the game if they don't see it your way and if you have no other choice than to worry about a costume
    c. complain on the forums and wait for the thread to be deleted and yourself get reprimanded by a Moderator, which serves no purpose other than to draw attention to your ignorance that the game doesn't revolve around you or what you "feel" should be done if things don't go your way.

    Did I leave anything out?
  21. If you want people to think that your character is similar to, even if it looks nothing like, another known character, even ONE trait could lead to genericing.

Like someone mentioned: NCsoft isn't begging you to play the game. If they lose a $15 subscription to keep themselves from being sued for copyright/trademark infringement which can lead to hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees and restitution, they would rather go with you taking your $15 elsewhere.

The EULA is set up to protect THEM, not you. You agree to playing by their rules. If you don't want to, then the door is that a way. ---------->
  22. For the past 30 minutes, each time I exit a mission, the game crashes. I don't know what's up, but I've had to verify about 7 times on two different computers.

Now 3 computers. Been doing nothing but standard Newspaper missions.

All on the Virtue server, btw
  23. Just thought I'd throw a quick question out..

Anyone know how to get ahold of NCsoft EU support/billing without having to get tied up in messages through the online system?

I just purchased CoH mac edition (EU) and trying to reactivate an old account to play with a few friends over there, and it will not allow me to reactivate my account without a gamecard or credit card... and when i enter my credit card info, I'm denied on "Fraud Suspicion" since it's an international purchase.

I can't get in touch with my bank since their "operating hours" are Monday through Friday, so no luck on that end.

    Any help would be appreciated.
  24. It's not a hoax. They did this with a few other issues; accidentally sending out the info a day or two ahead of time.

NewzYouWant is the mass email comapny that NCsoft has been using for almost a year now.
  25. How about changing the current requirements for Dev's Choice? But in the process, they'd have to change their Hall of Fame system.

    My thought:

Dev's Choice should be awarded to Hall of Fame arcs that the Dev's play. Meaning, fix the HoF system so that arcs can not be griefed. Once it gets Hall of Fame, it means that the players, overall, enjoy it.

From there, the Dev's can play through Hall of Fame arcs and choose from those a "Dev's Choice" arc. It be less work for the Dev's to do; meaning they don't have to sift through the hundreds of thousands of arcs.

Do I think Dev's Choice should be removed. Not in the slightest. Yes, mainly because I have it and I spent over 2 weeks making sure my arc was perfect before publishing it. But I don't think that the chosing process shouldn't be improved upon.

More people deserve the badge/title. In the past 2 weeks, I've played some arcs that definately deserve to be classified as Dev's Choice.
