SoAs without helmets?
There was a bug that briefly let you view Wolf Spiders sans helmet in the character editor, but that was about it.
It was never confirmed as a feature, but it's been implied that the developers are aware of the interest in them.
Though Crabs/Banes cannot be helmetless, IIRC, because they have a non-standard skeleton.

Banes are most certainly humanoid. There's nothing non-standard about them. As are crabs, just with an odd backpack. After all, that backpack comes across no matter what outfit you use.
Mulling over it, I think what BABs was probably getting at way back when was that Banes/Crabs are not modeled with a head under their helmet, whereas Wolf Spiders are.

Easiest solution:
Use Wretch's bodytype for Banes/Crabs since he's Crab Spider (wearing Crab Spider armor.)
Actually, he's wearing both crab and wolf spider armor.. O.o
pohsyb: so of all people you must be most excited about the veats
Arachnos Commander: actually, I am
pohsyb: I mean you kinda were one already anyways ^_^

Try this - look at /em crouch
On a regular character, the head visibly moves as the character looks left and right.
When you do it on a male Crab/Bane VEAT, the helmet doesn't move at all. I don't know what that indicates, but it must mean something.
They use standard animations, yes...but the female and huge player skeletons use the male animations for most things. Where things differ, they're overriding the male animations with unique ones.

Standard Skeleton, but the helmets odd attachment was cited as the reason they can't have the glowing eyes the NPC versions get.
Also for anyone interested here's a screen shot of the glitched interface.
I could swear I remember reading somewhere that Arachnos Soldiers (Crabs, Banes) were going to be able to make a helmetless costume. I can't remember if it was supposed to be in i14 or i15. I can't seem to find the post I read it in.
Does anyone else remember this?
Has this been added already but I'm just not making the right selections? I've checked on live and test and the only categories still appear to be Wolf with Helmet and Crab with Helmet.
Thanks in advance.
