I enjoy watching people judge others on their own internal definitions of morals and fairness.
If you don't like people running AE to level, don't.
There is obviously a clear majority of folks who don't, so just team together and shut up already. "I think you make too much exp running missions, and would like the same exp for standing chatting with friends. Because someone passed me leveling while they were slaving away in missions, and frankly, that just has nothing to do with me, but thoroughly bothers me."
What a bunch of retards. -
What can you do about having Castle fired and PvP 1.0 reimplemented?
-
-
If any team your on sucks enough to not have an awaken inspiration between the WHOLE team, then they don't deserve to be rezzed if they die.
-
I like all the ideas because this game is getting boring with all the same old ATs.
No MMORPG will ever be perfectly balanced between ATs, and I could give a damn less if they are. CoH had it best in PvP (pre Castle destroying it with PvP 2.0) because any weakness in your build could be virtually taken out with inspirations.
Nice concepts there OP, I like the Vanguard idea of buffs coming back to himself, which would allow him to take the alpha and such. -
No build to add as of yet, but I <3 my Dark/Shield, he is a bamf. Siphon life offsets Shields extremely well.
-
Thank you for saying everything that I also felt compelled to say mac.
Why does Samuel keep talking? -
Brutes do an asston more damage then Tanks, GTFO OP.

They should simply give you "PvP merits" for killing Player enemies (with a time check in account to limit farming; keyword limit.)
Then you can cash them in at the "PvP Vendor" located at the entrance to whatever zone you are in respectfully. Much like how you cash in for prizes in Siren's Call.
During teaming points would be shared, as an Emp would otherwise have no chance of getting points, but they are designed to team and I wouldn't see them soloing anyway.
Hell, even limiting merits to killing an individual player once a day and getting merits wouldn't be bad. Say you got one Merit per kill, and needed 200 merits to cash in, but you can't kill the same person more then once in a day, it would still take a decent time to earn a PvP IO, **** even if it cost 100 it would take a good bit for an average person. Simply because of the lack of diversity in zone. Of course the system could be messed with to limit the killing to "per account", but in concept, I rather have it like that then some ******** drop rate that I bet Castle thought of all his own. He should be assigned to running a Dr.Q TF everyday and stay out of PvP... -
Quote:The only thing they DID succeed in doing (IMO) is new players have a bit more of a fighting chance now than they used to. Since you will generally live long enough to get a few attacks off and move around a bit, someone new to PvP has a chance to learn what works and what doesn't.......as opposed to the old PvP where if you didn't pick it up in seconds flat you were doomed to be frustrated by your inability to do much of anything.
Absolutely not. They did NOT increase new players having a fighting chance at all. Those new players have to invest tons into IOs to stand a chance, and it is tactics and skill combined with your build that will make you good now, instead of just tactics and skill. So it is one more aspect that a "newb" has to garner.
Travel Suppression really ruined it because now there is virtually no escape in a fight, where was a before they could run, and through minor experience figure out what worked. That +res in zones is absolutely retarded, we might as well just do away with ATs and everyone should be limited to playing one AT with the same power sets and slots. In PvP 1.0 you could roll virtually ANYTHING and be fine in zone. Now? lol. The way they changed Mezz's absolutely F'd controllers/defenders. Rads/kins in particular took a huge hit. Even though it's been so long I STILL think they should revert back to the old system. Everyone turns off Heal Decay/TS in arena anyway. That in itself should be a frickin sign.
The whole "new people" can pvp argument is about as smart as a diced carrot. We lost like 90% of the PvP population! In all regards the implementation of PvP 2.0 was a failure because CoX lost a ton of prescriptions. That is their end goal, not making us happy, and they still failed.
Pretty much everything Conflict said is right on. -
i13 killed PvP because the changes sucked bottom line. They did the complete opposite of what they were supposed too.
Prior to i13 you could run an SOd out toon in zone and if you had skill you could man-handle people. Now? Sorry, you didn't spend months farming to get those IOs so you are **** out of luck. To actually compete you can only select from a small pool ATs and powers in high end play. IOs just thinned out everything even more. Kins? Pfft.
Anyone saying i13 PvP is the better direction is high and clearly does not or has never actually PvP'd on a regular basis or at high end levels.
Castle should have been fired on the spot for being willing to implement those changes. It's not only that they implemented it with such negative feedback, but it has been proven that the changes didn't work. Still, people aimlessly justify the release. Brain check fools, pvp was decimated in numbers and quality, in the end, that is all that matters.
You could fight 1 on 3 and survive if you had skill. Now? GTFO. -
Quote:You sir, are a gentleman.I'll just pop in and say my piece.
Alright I see a couple of you insinuating without saying that there is a certain "Way" to play the game. Get over yourself, we are fit to play the game however we choose. If I want to turn OFF my XP and never level, thats my issue. if I want to NEVER take speed boost, thats my issue. If I want to farm, thats my issue, if i want to Roleplay (god forbid that happen o.-) thats my issue.
Forcing your view of moral "right" is not the best way to show your viewpoint may have more value then others.
IF I play in a way that IS wrong..then thats the programming/dev teams issue to deal with (as well as support, but support best I can tell is getting swamped with so many "reports" by others trying to show they are playing right and the others wrong they might as well advertise turning in three of your sg for a badge o.-) NOT yours. Stop trying to be the police of this game and enjoy it for what it is, for in the end, save maybe Venture, Dispari, Marcian and a few others, none of the player base has any influence over the way the game goes :P
Secondly, if you run into someone who doesn't know how to play the game, how about you take the time and teach them or show them the way. For a game thats supposed to promote cooperation for the betterment of the world (or destruction) ALOT of you people seem to stay in your groups and point and laugh at those that aren't o.0 This is very similar to the "high school" mentality I am seeing spreading like Ebola in the game. I ran into a Tf that knew NOTHING about tactics and instead of getting mad, I explained the base numbers of defense and other such things to them and we worked alot better.
While I was doing this, someone "rage quit" 'cuz they should have known "how to play the game by now". Could have used that empath, but we made it through with a few deaths.
We're sinking into this festering boil of hatred for anything thats new to us and new players and it will do NOTHING but destroy us in the end faster then we may or may not be decomposing now o.0
Thats all, and of course, just my opinion.
Regards,
-C.A. -
The best thing they have done for the community in a long time. Castle must have not had anything to do with it.
-
I wish I could make an Energy/Regen scrapper.
-
Quote:I haz one and it is the rockzers. While I applaud your choice of Shield/EM, rather than one of the other FOTMs, I have one and like him Lots, have you considered Shield/Dark Melee? It 'feels' awesome, looks dangerous, and performs quite well!
Build with the 'Elemental Dark' shield and you'll be carrying a 'nexus of screaming souls'... or something similar.
Be Well!
Fireheart
Against All Odds + Soul Drain is just mean. The -To Hit of Dark and +def of Shield pair very well together. The small heal from Dark Melee is nice for keeping your HP up as well, since Shield lacks a heal.
The dark shield looks pretty cool too and I'm sure you could come up with something clever concept wise. -
You should put up the values for Ninja Run in PvP. I'm too lazy too
-
Quote:Because they stack retard. That's why I'll use Sprint.That... Ninja Run is incredibly unfair, especially for a power we get at level one. It's twice the speed of Sprint, gives a massive jump height bonus (500% and over) and just gives owners of this pack a HUGE advantage. And I'm saying this as someone who has it. Why even use Sprint at all now?
Waaaaaaaaaah
If it's available to everyone, its fair. So quit crying. -
Im one of those i12 guys who left and am currently enjoying my time with unsupressed. They have a good thing going that seems to be a rare oddity in terms of PvP.
Transferring to freedom is totally worth it for any big pvper. I recommend transferring a farming toon if you like having a bunch of pvp toons. I transferred my fire/kin and my main pvper.
KB is fun and I hope it continues. Upressed is good business. -
Quote:Didnt look like they were talking about the proc. Not sure why you'd want to skip the damage proc? I'd slot Hecatomb WITH the proc and then add the Unbreakable Constaint proc. So:
Hecatomb: Damage
Hecatomb: Damage/Rech
Hecatomb: Damage/Acc/Rech
Hecatomb: Acc/Rech
Hecatomb: Chance for Negative Energy Damage
Unbreakabale Constraint: Chance for Smashing Damage -
Quote:With the activation time, I'd say its hardly significant. The heal is significant if you have many mobs around you. I would say the heal is probably intended to help EA in teams, rather than saying that it is a fake buff. We also have to see if EA would get something similar to energize when it proliferates.
Even with 8 dudes around you, you are only healing for 600hp...that is baby cake stuff for group healing. Bosses lol at 600hp. Solo the heal is worthless even when running +1/8 no bosses. This set needs a recon heal or a Dark heal. Yea, that would make it sound like Energy Drain is an awesome all around power...but you also have to think about the fact that you wouldn't be using it for +end when you may actually need it, or +hp when you actually need it, if you've already used it for the opposite.
Making the heal worthless outside of the aggro cap is ridiculous.
It is undeniably the worst set in the Brute secondary and it will continue to be the worst set unless they get real with it. If they got rid of Entropy shield and threw all of the mezz protections into the other shields, and gave EA a seperate Recon identical power, it would be able to fill in its weaknesses with its self heal and that would make it much more viable. -
I told you. All that BS people spew about "same quality more numbers" blah blah blah is all BS. There is way more quality and way more action, and people actually ARENA.
-
Yea I just respeced mine to add some heal SOs in Energy Drain and it is absolutely worthless, I only heal for 75hp per tgt hit, and that is just shenanigans.
What a fake you out kind of "buff".
Anyone saying that EA has a self heal to make up for its lack of defense is confused, its self heal might as well be non-existant. -
When did Energy Aura Brutes get self heals?
I agree EnA needs a buff. It needs DDR bad among other things. Add some Psi and Toxic def to Entropy Shield or something...
I just pulled up CoH Planner and didn't see the Self Heal, but thought it would be cool if they added it to Energy Drain, so I checked there and bam, thats what they did, to my surprise. I might actually have to start playing my Elec/Energy Brute again.
Does it heal even when you are not in range of any enemies? -
Quote:Thats why it is great on team when your inherent kicks in. Assault helps as well.A shielded human form build is very survivable, but does lol damage to the point of marking yourself as a non threat. Squid form really makes you dangerous with blaster lvl damage and tactics lvl to hit bonus, you should consider trying it out. As soon as you start getting spiked, 1 button push macro dumps you back into human form and off you go out of danger.
The cast time of changing form is more then enough time for someone to spike you dead. You have to hope there are no flying stalkers or corrs.
I think both can be good in zone, dont rule out himan though, especially on a team or IOd out with +dmg bonuses which would likely bring them to base blaster lvls. Im too lazy too look at the numbers, im on my iphone, just saying their survivability and ability to stay in a fight is what helps make up for their lack of damage.
