In response to you Kraver, in PVP Brutes are generating an amount of Fury even when their opponents are evading and this should be more then it currently is.
Brutes have .75 base damage and Scrappers have 1.125 base damage so we need to generate fury to do the same damage. Admittedly this doesnt require a lot of fury but if you then factor in Scrapper's inherent power to critical hit we need our ability to generate fury to keep up.
I appreciate in PVP you win some and you lose some but the fact that I am generating fury as if I were fighting a single even level minion when I'm fighting my wily hero opponents makes me sad.
Its difficult to argue the case when its not game breaking because brutes still win in PVP.
Maybe when they fix it it'll make no difference at all.
But it is broken. -
Send a tell to Clint Thrust or Savage Badger if Silent-Knight isn't online.
Look forward to meeting you. -
Ok this happened to me in RV recently, My EM/Elec Brute and his heavy were attacked by a Dark/something scrapper and an Illusion/something/Ice controller, both with heavies.
It all turns very hairy so I pop Power Surge, kill the scrapper and get the the controller down to about 10% hp at which point he goes into hibernation. Soon after he starts hibernating Power Surge gives me the 10 second warning so I super jump away, it crashes and i'm left with 1 hp, 0 endurance and no way to recover (no insps). I get to the villain base where I rest. I then see a torrent of profanity in broadcast and the controller asking me why Brutes always run from him blah blah. I point out that if he wasn't so busy hibernating then he could have killed me.
Was I supposed to sit there with 1 hp waiting for him to stop hibernating so he could kill me? -
Saw this on the US boards posted by dimmsdale and thought we should do the same over here in Europe: -

As I said, there are many more, but these are the highest profile, affecting the most number of users, issues that we are dealing with. If you don't see an issue on this list, don't assume we are not working on it, but you can enter a /bug in the game if you are so inclined.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brute fury generation was not one of those issues. We know they're aware of it, but there has been no news of progress and it doesn't appear in the list of high priority bugs. So next time you're on your brute, /bug it please so that it becomes a higher priority.
Remember to be polite. You just need something along the lines of "Fury for my ?/? Brute is not building at the correct rate when fighting other players. It is lower than it should be."

Contrary to my previous posts in this forum. It has become very apparent the Grounded is unreliable in PVP. If you going to PVP get the leaping pool CJ/SJ&Acro the additional immob/kb protection is purest gravy.
Recently I was teamed with a SS/ELA who had the leaping pool in Warburg, while fighting a Stone Controller I was repeatedly held (once even during PowerSurge) while he leapt around with impunity.
After my next respec my build is going to look like this, not 100% sure on the post 43 slotting, I seem to have a lot of slots and not a lot of powers that need them: -

PVE would become much slower without Air Sup. 99% of bosses spend 99% of their time on their behind which means they are not hitting me. Maybe when I hit 50 and do nothing but PVP i'll respec out of the fly pool and into the leaping pool. But at the moment Air Sup is too valuable.
-
[ QUOTE ]
This build is meant to be about PVP.
To the OP: the fact that you're a flying brute means you won't whoop anything, since they can all get away. In fact, you'll have REAL problems versus fliers, considering the fact that if you try to follow them you'll lose mez protection, and be slaughtered.
Take aid self, unless you were joking about PVP. Self heals are pretty much necessary.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ok your points are valid but not wholly correct: -
Grounded is Immob and KB protection, ELA brutes rely on Static Shield for their main mez protection. You know what happens when you get KB while flying you spin.
You ask how the OP is going to catch and kill anyone with fly alone? I have done this against all kinds of heroes. Once Air Superiority connects guess where that flyer is going . the ground. I use an Energy/ELA brute and with the Stuns that all of my attacks contain there is a high chance that with any of my hits that flyer will be on the ground. -
Ok my brute is now at level 29 and a half, in my build I factored in Hasten at level 30. Now I am considering dropping it in favour of the Fighting pool - Boxing at level 30 and Tough and level 41.
What would peoples advice on this be?
I have copied in my build in below - its anything post 29 that I am unsure about: -

Using my EM/ELA brute In PVP is it more effective to build a bit of rage first, like I would in PVE, by starting with the lowest cycle my attacks in sequence of their strength? Or is it better to do the opposite in PVP and get the higher damage attacks out first?
-
Hello everyone, below is my build Energy Melee/Electric Armour Brute currently at level 22 and I can say so far getting Total Focus at 18 made this brute a monster, cant wait for Energy Transfer! The slotting below reflects what it will be after I get Power Sink. At the moment I have endreds in all of my attacks.
This Brute will be used for PVP in all the zones, badge hunting and PVE.
Could I have your feedback please?

You're right I am having endurance issues at level 8, so much that I am unable to run more than one of my toggles. I will reslot my powers asap.
When I get Power Sink would that provide me with enough endurance to reslot my powers with Dmg over EndRdx?
Would you recommend the Speed pool (Hasten + SS) over the Fighting pool (17.5% S/L resistance)?

I have so far played and dropped a Claws/Ninja Stalker, Energy/Dark Corruptor, Ice/Kinetics Corruptor and finally Claws/SR Stalker. I have ditched them in the mid twenties. I still havent found an archetype I have wanted to take to 50.
I have now turned to a Brute and I am having a lot of fun with him.
I enjoy PVP immensely and therefore my build is geared into single target destruction.

As a Claws SR myself I can not understate the importance of getting Focus as soon as possible (18), this is one of the most effective powers in the set as the knockdown basically allows you to floor your chosen opponents and attack pretty much unmolested, this works especially well with Freak Tanks who have high resistance to Lethal but take ages to get up from a knockback.

I'm now level 24 and have been using focus since 18 and the above statement is the truth! Focus is a god send and I am glad I followed your advice mate!
I am considering the following respec build and would like your critique: -
Build 1 follows the plan I have been following I have so many spare slots after 40 I have pretty much slotted everything and maxed SS to chase down and runners.
So far the only annoyance I have is no vertical ability: -

The knock back attacks should stop the pesky foes attacking me but I dont know how effective it will be in PVP. I know it could do with hasten.

With amount of heroes who I could only look up at and sigh as they flew by in bloody bay last night. I think Ill respec into fly or at least super jump at the first opportunity.
BTW the build at level 16 did very nicely in my first pvp. It was far far more exciting battling human foes then I could have ever imagined. -
I have taken your comments into consideration and have made the following changes. I have replaced Agile with Hasten because I think with Focused Fighting and Parry I should have high enough melee defence.
No idea what to take for the lvl 49 power, should I add in Whirling Sword earlier?

Ok I have been playing COV for about 2 months and have rolled a few different AT's and enjoy the game immensely. When I bought COV I also purchased COH.
I want to roll up a hero, could you please critique this build, for pvp and pve. Its all about single target damage...

I've been having a rethink... and I had the idea of having a Stalker that is totally hit and run, using Assault and Tactics so all his attacks hit harder and more accurately. Cycling Buildup - Assassin Strike - focus - eviscerate - air superiority to keep the target on its back then - placate Buildup - Assassin Strike and so on if the target doesnt die quick enough, pop elude and fly out of there
As I have no experience in PVP (yet!), how viable is this? It will have to be a respec build at lvl 38+

But what this means is that a wont be able to get any powers from the Medicine pool but if Im not planning on scrapping it out I dont think Ill need it? -
I don't like the idea of not having placate until the 20's!
I need the practice hitting and running. While I am able to scrap at the moment I want to take the opportunity to practice hitting a running.
I'm not sure how to slot elude, I went with 3x times defence buff and 1x Run Speed. Is this ok?

BTW at later levels you might want to find a way to get aid self into your set. I'm planning on skipping Patron Powers all together.
[/ QUOTE ]
I was planning on doing this
I was under the impression because of the scaling defence changes in i7 that the SR passive defences were skippable as they only add 4% (this is from memory and I cannot find the thread) to melee/ranged/aoe defence. Or did you mean that all of all SR powers toggle defence powers are required?
What should I delay in favour of focused sense?
Thanks -
Your responses make a lot of sense, thank you.
Being relatively new to the game, could you please explain the correct use of 'Elude' is it an 'oh sh*t run!' power?
You also questioned Shockwave because its aoe power, does the same apply to Eviscerate?
I've been doing a paper missions set to relentless difficulty to get from lvl 12 - 14 and was having a lot of success with the build below (used a lot of acc/dam inspirations on the bosses).
Then I tried a mayhem mission which I have been able to solo on normal difficulty. Unfortunately when the hero appeared I had used all my insps on the longbow and my AS missed...

After ditching my ice/kin Corruptor in the mid twenties I rolled up a claws/sr Stalker.
The intention is to use him in PVP as a short sharp shock.
The timing of the slots are not accurate so dont worry about them, just the types. Also I might have to chose some additional attacks at lower lvls and then respec them out.
Could I have your criticism please: -

Why not think of something original rather then plagiarise an existing ideas from the DC universe?

And why not follow your favourites? How many Legolas's were there when archery came out? How many batmans are running around in one form or another? If it works, if it fits, and if it inspires you to have fun with the game, then go for it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah but who were those people? Ah yes.... idiots
... but I suppose you do have a point, if it makes the game more fun for someone they should do it. I'm guilty of it myself... I made a massive green ss/inv Brute with purples shorts called 'Da Hulk' just to see him run around the game for a while, deleted him soon after but it was still amusing... Would never have actually wanted to level him though. -

I've posted my updated build in below.
I can always respec if I find I can't do without Increase Density at lower lvls.
