I don't heavily pre-build my toons, I take what powers I like and that's that (unless I'm following someone else's build). Which is why I like the Medicine pool on squishy toons.
On my SR stalker, I find that after a fight and I'm down say a third or a half on my healthbar, I can heal myself back up to full by the time I reach the next group of foes. This speeds my playtime and helps me avoid "risking" the next group with less than full health.
Past that, Hasten is my usual extra, and from there it sort of depends on the toon; many don't take an actual travel power but might go for something such as Air Supe. -

Assuming you don't mind self-promotion here...
I don't know if you've played them, but I have two, one for villains and one for heroes, Day Job Hell and A Wake for Dead 6, respectively. Arc numbers in my sig. -
This makes me want to dust off my grav Dom. I recall standing around trees that are always dropping leaves was fun too.
-
This is the change I've noticed on Virtue; that and the shrinking of the crowd 'round the BM on Cap.
-
I'll go with that word too. My "badger" gave up (around 150) after solo opening Xmas presents to get the Toy Collector badge. I like the game, but tedium within it is another matter.

Signed here too. I wish there was some way to sacrifice one slot on another server for one on the server I choose; maybe make it cost points.

I'm no fan of bases, rarely go into one and don't own one myself (or as part of an SG), but I imagine if they didn't find some way to port over all the stuff stored in a base, many players would flip out and kill someone.
I wouldn't mind seeing them work on bases though; perhaps they could intro some new tech for "any base constructed past date X" while leaving the old tech still running, maybe with a phase-out date set like six months in the furture. That might be too much for the servers though, dunno. -

I'll go ahead and toss in my arc When The Words Stop #494099 (by @Clave_Dark_5).
I feel kind of bad for not having a new one yet (working on it though...) and asking you guys to play through one you've already done before, but... 500 mil is pretty nice to have drop on you out of the blue. -
I'll try and remember this thread when the time comes - same goes for you too, if you make yours!

The problem with "I'll pay for the AE" is that people like us who actually want to use it to tell stories - i.e., people who would pay for new power sets in the MA, things to do such as the little pop-up dialogue boxes, etc., things the devs can now do - are a small percentage of the users of AE; most just farm it. Farmers don't need those "fancy" things and wouldn't pay for them.
It's kind of like saying you'd pay for more PvP or base stuff, it just wouldn't be a strong revenue stream for the man-hours put in, not to mention that the devs would have to be really sure they're not risking another exploit they didn't foresee and the raging hell that would be unleashed if another one got out and they had to nerf it. "Better to concentrate on things most players use, like costume bundles, iTrials, etc."
At least that's my take. -
I've got an arc that's about 80% done collecting dust right now that's about "strange things afoot at the Martian base"; it's based on old rocket movies from the 50's (and a bit of Lovecraft). Once I heard about the retro set I decided to just wait until it came out, as the space suits would fit it perfectly.
Does that count?
Now I just have to fight past my lethargy that comes from the way the devs have pretty much abandoned the AE. -
Quote:I once read a book about film-making and the guy who wrote it said that invariably his fave scene always ended up on the cutting room floor to help streamline the film. Always. This arc is well full up of things you loved to put in it, but they're all choking each other. That's one of the hardest parts of creative endeavor - having to kill off things you love.
I've learned to embrace this myself on more than one arc, I've done my best to edit mercilessly to keep pure the thrust of the story and the flow of the arc (except maybe with When The Words Stop, which they rarely ever did, but by design!). It's a fair point for arc writers to keep in mind. -

Quote:Myself, I like white. White, white white, as far as the eye can see. It keeps the room from feeling small or cramped and won't clash with anything you own (unless you're Tim Burton).Q2: How dose one choose a color for there room. I'm trying to think what i want and how to do it but can't narrow it down it seems. Form a basic color for all or going a little art like and doing some "tricks"(like waves or clouds, etc).
BUT! If I had to go with a color, maybe on one wall, I'd go with a light blue (sky blue, for instance). I've read vague talk that people are more creative in a blue room, so I'd go with that. -
Regarding the "previously missing power sets", I seem to recall talk when AE was first introduced that Traps was probably never going to be in* because trying to code a critter to use it in any "common sense" way (as in "not dropping an acid mortar just when it's recharged, meaning any ol' time") was nigh impossible. That might be a factor in at least some of them not being in there.
*Certainly not going to happen unless some fantastic change is made... -
Past the usual sub fee for my one account, I think I'm above 50 and under a hundred smackers. Currently trying to not spend anymore, too, but we'll see once the retro-sci-fi hits, I really want that set. :P

Virtue and or Freedom, says this American night shift worker. I take my toon's "life" in my hands when I create him or her on another server as I prefer to team. Sometimes I can't even find a team on those servers, but that's partkly because redside is becoming a ghost town no matter which server you're on.

My working theory/two-headed conspiracy rant still stands that at some point, the devs decided not to "waste" another second of developer time on AE if they could avoid it. "Players would rather see tangible results like new power sets or iTrials rather than just "mere fixes"." After having had to spend so much time in the past backtracking to fix AE exploits, they decided to never touch it again. In the past couple of months we've seen them state flat out "we have no plans for the AE".
Funny thing is, AE is still being used by players. I published my last mish a couple of months ago and then thought I'd figure out how many arcs got published between mine and one published one month later. Turns out that in that one month (most of Feb.) over a thousand new arcs had been published (farms or not, doesn't matter for this conversation).
Now, if only, say 15 had been published, the devs might have sat down and gone through their "this aspect of the game is under performing and needs a look-see"*, but since "obviously people love it just as it is", why bother?
tl;dr, the devs are done with it and will never touch it again unless they have to kill a new exploit. I could be wrong, I'd love to be, but...
*They've said, iirc, that this is something they datamine for, when an AT or powerset is very ignored by the playerbase, and if they find on e like that, they "look into making changes"; see stalkers for example -
Quote:Exactly my point with tons more info than I can be bothered to remember, thank you. There were several reasons that EM used to be the answer for the "go-to" Stalker primary, and they're all made moot and EM is, if not the worst Stalker primary, really close to the bottom. (etc.)

Quote:As advanced as they are you might think that they would have some form of a prime directive around the "don't make yourself public knowledge" rule
Really, says who? Who's to say that Stephen Hawking's possible types of aliens* are any less valid? Or, really, (a little historcal allusion aside) more valid - making guesses about things we have no evidence for is futile, might as well make guesses about how many fairies can live in one toadstool or how many ATs the devs are working on creating next.
*Hawking posited that being visited by aliens might not be such a great thing, much like how the "less advanced" cultures of the Americas fared poorly when they met Western explorers; see http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/0...=Charlie_Rose_
