  1. I played this arc a long time ago way back when it was first published. I remember immensely enjoying it and thinking it was a crime it wasn't a DC arc. And now it is. Way to go, NAR!
  2. None. You have to be a VIP player to access your Incarnate powers or the Incarnate trails. I believe a premium player does keep the Alpha slot and can do the Apex & Tin Mage TFs, but that's it.

You won't lose your Incarnate powers, but they will be greyed out. If you become a VIP again, you will get everything back and won't have to earn them again.

    Pre-Patch?

Isn't that the date when the legacy CoH installer/launcher will no longer be supported? Maybe the pre-patch is set up to disable the legacy installer/launcher?
  4. Oh, great. The day before my wedding! It's gonna be a while before I can play i20.5. Hopefully by then players will have developed a good strategy for Keyes Reactor.
  5. I've tried PMing red names, to no avail. So I'm gonna ask this here instead.

A while back, I won an Animal Pack code. However, I had already purchased the Animal Pack code and used it on my account. So now I have a code I can't use. I would like to exchange it for a Steampunk Pack code if at all possible.

    Is this possible?
  6. Citizen Razor, my main badger, finally joined the 1,200 club with "Safecracker." Now here's to the 1,250 club!

    Master of Lambda

Doesn't work like that. Temps from a previous Lambda run become greyed out and unusable on the next run.
  8. Gotta go with Issue 9 and the Invention system as well. It added a ton of customization to the game, provided an "end-game" to a game that was sorely lacking it at the time, and was the necessary pay-off for Enhancement Diversification. I had left CoH for a year and a half because the game was dull and repetitive (this was shortly after issue 4, I believe). My brother informed me about the "crafting" system and I came back to check it out, and I've been here ever since then.

Maybe set up something like the mother ship raid for it.
All of the Lv50 groups already scale up to Lv54. There are no enemy groups that stop at Lv50. Just set up a "Incarnate mode" that automatically make the Lv50 TFs +4x8. Make it so that when you set a TF to "Incarnate mode" they can drop Incarnate Threads. Boom, you just added six more ways to get Incarnate Threads.

What might require some programming time is if they wanted to add a way for players to get the incarnate components. But that's another discussion.
  10. Just did the WST. Got my Notice and double merits. So whatever the issue was, it seems to have fixed itself.
  11. As of right now, no Primals can't earn those three, as well as Avid Reader (the Praetorian tutorial badge). Presumably, soon Praetorian Ouroboros will be ready, then we'll be able to earn those four badges on our Primals.

    Master Runs

Yeah I'm really not upset/bitter about it to be honest. You are right in saying that it did give me something to do in RV as well as the turrets/heavy badges and what not. It was 'annoying' to log in every hour on the hour and hope that you get the kill on the contaminated but...*shrugs*

It was just one (if not the only) badge that I just finished getting and then like 1 week (2-3 weeks?) later we find out about Ouroboros and getting that badge a whole lot easier
Same thing happened to me as well. I logged in every couple of hours to kill the single Contaminated and eventually got "Isolator" on my pre-i2 main badger after about a month of camping. Two weeks later they announced the "Flashback" system. D'oh!

That wasn't the only time that happened. I decided to grind out "Back to the Future" (defeat 1,000 pillboxes) and Fabricator (10,000 crafts) on both my hero and villain badgers. After several months of grinding, I finally got them on both badgers.

A few months later, the i16 badge changes were announced. D'oh!

Mind you, I'm not complaining. If not for the i16 changes, I would've never gotten Empath, as well as a few other epic badges, on both badgers. That's just the nature of the game. Sometimes things change.

    Master Runs

Also, yes the No Death Mo runs can be easier with Incarnates on the team, but that does not in anyway guarantee a win. Things that can go wrong include but not limited to:
Very true. Today, I was on a team that attempted a MoSTF. The team mostly had incarnates.

We were doing very well ... I was the lead tanker ... until we got to the Dr. Aeon room. I fired off the temp power. He became vulnerable. We poured in ... and he suddenly became non-vulnerable and resistant to everything! Amidst this chaos, a controller died. Had this not happened, Dr. Aeon would've died before the controller did.

(Ultimately, it ended up not mattering, as there was another death when we pulled Mako and Scirroco at the same time. The attempt ended with 2 deaths.)

So easier? Yes. But that's still no guarantee. On the plus side, it now opens up those badges to a wider variety of ATs and powersets.

Don't worry, I'm pretty sure that the devs will nerf the "Master of" requirements in i21 so that you can't use any incarnate powers.
  14. I didn't want to be left out of the bandwagon, so I attempted to form a MoLambda of my own.

The first attempt failed, as Marauder was at 28% with about 4 minutes to go. Knowing that we still had his Unstoppable to deal with, we went ahead and used the pacification grenades. Unfortunately, for some reason, things became ugly after that, and the league began to wipe out. We didn't complete the trail.

Undaunted, I made a second attempt. This time we tried to stock up on psi damage. This run went better, and we even managed to snag the Synchronous badge along the way. Then we poured on Marauder.

Finally, with about 12-13 seconds left on the timer, Marauder went down! And Liberty had yet another set of people with the "Master of Lambda Sector" badge. (Yes, I know it's currently bugged ... I don't care.) Unfortunately, two of them disconnected right at the end and missed out on getting the badge, which was a big bummer.

Congratulations and a BIG thanks to:

    Atomic Crush
    Carmina
    Psi-Canis
    Imping Ain't Easy
    Clue
    Hell's Crazy Kitty
    billn
    Xring Hitter
    Trull
    It's a Tarp
    All-American Reject
    Fury-
    Frigid Witch
    Shortspark*
    Gravitron Pulse*

The last two barely missed out. I sent in a petition for them. Hopefully they will get the badge awarded to them because, really, they did earn it.
  15. I'll just add my "like" vote for an "Incarnate" option among the Lv50 TF/SFs that will bring all the mobs up to Lv54 and drop threads / astral merits.

Because I'm sure the devs will want to keep people's interests up in the trails, they could be the only places that drop emp merits and the "random" component tables.
  16. Citizen_Razor

    An Apex record?

For Apex TFs? I've been on one that was only 35 minutes, and I'm sure others have beaten it in less than 20 minutes. Difficulty is automatically at +4x8 anyway.

Edit: Nevermind, just noticed that it was a duo run. Dunno if that's ever been done before.
  17. *note* Cross-posted from the i20 discussion forums.

Amidst a lot of discussion regarding the "quasi-random" reward table that rewards people based on their participation, I was thinking of something. Personally, this is what I'd like to see ...

Entire league gets the same reward at the same rate (like what is already done on TFs).

In order to get the common/uncommon/rare/very rare, it would depend on how well the league does on the trail.

Met all of the "Master of..." objectives in a single run? Very rare table for everybody.

Get 3/4 of the objectives? Rare table.

    2/4 objectives = Uncommon table.

    1/4 objectives = Common table.

0/4 objectives, but complete the trail = 10 threads.

This would require changing the objectives for MoLambda considerably, to make it possible to get 1, 2, 3, or all 4 badges in a single run. Right now you can get either 1 (Synchronized badge), 3 (if you take down Marauder without using any temp powers but failed to get Synchronized), or all 4 in a single run. After the bug is fixed, you'll only be able to get 2 badges in a run at the very most. Instead, this is how I would do it:

MoLambda Badge #1: Get grenade / acid within 2 seconds of each other (Synchronized badge)

MoLambda Badge #2: Get 10 grenades *and* 10 acids (Well Stocked)

MoLambda Badge #3: Don't get any grenades or acids during Marauder fight (new badge name, "Didn't Need It"?)

MoLambda Badge #4: Defeat Marauder without using any temp powers (Lambda Looter)

The reason for #3 is because, well, MoBAF already has one extremely easy badge (the "don't click on any glowies" badge), and MoLambda should have a bade that's similarly easy.

Also, I'd give players the option to "climb down" the reward table if they desired to. After all, to get tier4 across all 4 slots, you need 4 very rares, 8 rares, 8 uncommons, and 64 commons. I imagine that many people would rather "trade down" to get a common instead of an uncommon or rare.

Of course, Standard Code Rant applies and all that. But that's how I would've done it. This way seems the most fair to everybody.

    Master BAF

I got the MoBAF badge. I don't run with dedicated groups, and I'm on Liberty. In fact, it was mostly a PUG group that netted me the MoBAF badge.

You don't have to do it all in one run. You can get the badge over multiple runs of the BAF. Get a badge here, get another badge there, and eventually you'll get the MoBAF / MoLambda badges. It really isn't that hard now that more and more players are unlocking and slotting the four new incarnate powers. Heck, I only had the t1 Interface and Judgment powers slotted myself.

If I could do it, then pretty much anybody can do it. I don't even have any of the 6 "classical" Mo badges.
  19. Be noted, however, that once you leave Praetoria, it'll be like you never existed in Praetoria in the first place. None of your old contacts will recognize you. You won't be able to do missions (unless teamed with a Praetorian). Pretty much the only thing you can do is street sweep, get exploration badges, and do the zone events.
  20. Out of curosity ... does this work with trail accounts? Meaning, can I make up 7 trail accounts, make a Swiss Tourney with them and my badger, then have them forfeit until I get the badge?

Or does it have to be 7 active accounts?
  21. I'll just echo what everybody else has said ...

I have two main toons that I play -- a inv/mace tanker and a ninja/sr stalker. I respecced the tanker but haven't touched the stalker yet. The reason why I haven't respecced the stalker yet is because respeccing is a major PITA. It's time-consuming, I have to spend lots of time figuring out where to put various enhancements and how to slot powers. And if I mess up one thing, I have to undo all of that work to fix that one mistake. It isn't fun, and honestly my build works just fine the way it is. Could it be tweaked a little bit to make it slightly better? Sure, but I'm not a min/maxer. I play to have fun. Respeccing isn't fun, so I try to do it as little as possible.

Now, if they changed or uphauled the respec UI and make it a LOT easier and more user-friendly to use ... then I'd probably be more willing to respec some of my toons. But as it stands right now ... I'll pass.

If you don't team, it can be less accessible. If you spend very little time playing, it can also be less accessible. But anyone who thinks this game was specifically targeted at soloing players with heavy time constraints is not being realistic. I have sympathy for players in that situation, but I do not extend that sympathy to accepting the notion that this game's current design is predicated on the assumption that time constrained soloers are required to have access to all in-game rewards and progressional paths at rapid earning rates. This game tries to be solo-friendly. It tries to be casual friendly. It does not and in my opinion should not be bounded by the reward earning rates of the slowest possible players that can possibly exist by virtue of eliminating all but the slowest possible earning paths and then playing them for the minimum amount of credible playtime.
Beautifully said. One of the best posts I've seen regarding this topic, and I agree completely.
  23. No I don't have the EVGA precision tool installed. However, doing "-renderthread 0" in the startup worked.
  24. I have a nVidia GeForce 9800 GTX video card. When I first installed it, I was able to run CoH with the graphics settings nearly maxed out without any problems.

However, recently, I had to wipe and reinstall Windows. Now, for some reason, I can't even move my graphic settings to anything beyond "Performance." Whenever I do, the game client freezes up. I used to be able to run it in Ultra mode without any problems whatsoever.

Anybody know if there's anything I can do? And yes, I've ran and installed the latest nVidia drivers.

Edited to add: Driver version is 8.17.12.6658
  25. I dunno about the faster downloading time. Seems the same to me. But the launcher seems to have somehow miraculously fixed the annoying problem I had of the computer freezing up whenever I exited to the desktop, and my having to go to Task Manager to shut off the game client. So it's a win for me either way.
