  1. Every city zone getting the Praetoria treatment. All new buildings and textures with far less repetition.

Oh wait... That's not in the features list is it? Hm. Well. The Sharks vs. Ponies minigame looks fun.
  2. Thanks PT, I've missed you. I like it better when you have some bits of dialogue to share though.

    Awesome!

  6. I finally hit 50 on my DP blaster after almost three hours of grinding. It took me so long because after the AE nerf no one is teaming anymore.

What am I supposed to do now? I got the last power in the set and now DP sucks. There aren't any more powers to take. The devs should really make a new power so that I have some reason to play the character longer. How hard would it be just to add one extra power?

p.s. how do I change ammos?

EBs? An Ice/Nrg with SOs should be able to solo EBs. Are you both thinking AVs? If you are talking about AVs then... well, good luck.

Those three extra slots in Hasten are netting you 6.6s of recharge. Is that really worth three slots?

Why did you choose Cold Mastery? I like either Electrical Mastery or especially Force Mastery on a solo blaster looking for survivability. The only reason I would take Cold is if I was building for defense, which you really aren't.

You're spending billions on this build with the PvP IOs. Make sure you realize that half the bonuses listed aren't going to apply in PvE. It looks like you've thrown away two power picks just to slot gladiators armor (boxing and tough) and I'm not sure that's worth it even if you ARE going to PvP...

Slot the Performance shifter +end proc in Stamina in a fourth slot, slot the Numina and Miracle recovery procs in health. Those three procs are standard practice for any of my end-intensive builds.

If you really want to be effective solo against hard targets you want to put out as much damage in as little time as possible. With an /energy blaster, that means taking the melee attacks! Make an alternate build and take energy punch and bone smasher along with total focus and what you have in your primary already. Slot with whatever SO combo you like and test it out... It's some of the highest burst damage in the game.

So. Don't take Cold Mastery unless you want to build for defence to stack with the ice shield. Force Mastery and Aid Self will give you more survivability. Think about whether or not you really need those PvP IOs. Consider the melee attacks.

p.s. Yeah it's just my opinion et cetera ad nauseam.

I'd buy a novel with this as the back cover blurb. Get to work!

    War Mace...

    ... rocks my socks.

Ok, I've played enough brutes through low levels to know that they're monstrous regardless of power sets early on. But something about WM seems even smashier than the others I've played and abandoned. So far the single target damage seems very nice, and it looks like the AoE develops well later on.

I know that BA is very similar and I'd rather do smashing than lethal... Also Clobber is better than Swoop, dammit.

Am I suffering from new-character-is-awesome syndrome or what? Anyone with a WM brute have any stories?

  13. I'm sitting here rubbing my eyes and trying to drink that magic amount of coffee that makes me stop feeling like a lizard, but doesn't send me into a cracked out squirrel state. It's a fine line. The ape-mind balances on the edge. It's been 6 1/2 hours of 2010 now and I'm not sure if I like it.

There's a smell of burned flowers in the air. Jasmine? Of Resolutions consummated and lustily broken. This early into the beginning still feels like the end, pieces lying scattered along personal timelines like endangered sandcastles or used fireworks.

It rained earlier this morning. The confetti dissolves and returns to the ground. I'll ponder that fitting beginning as I drive to work through this strangely familiar new world.
  14. My little Tony apocalypse Tony!
  15. I make some characters specifically for total trainwreck PuGs so I'd LOVE to see something like this.

Too often I accept a blind invite to a team that knows what it's doing and doesn't ever wipe. Don't these people understand that I'm looking for a team ready to implode under its own stupid? If you've slotted DOs you should be fighting +4s at minimum, noobs. Why else do you think I take my phase power as early as possible? Why else to I have repulsion field AND force bubble? Why else to I even HAVE an Ill/Storm?

Competent PuGs are endangering an entire sub-species of my character stable. I support anything that streamlines PuGing especially if it includes random matching and a "whatever" button.

Jello snow? Interesting concept. What would a snow thrower look like then I wonder...

FF provides more straight up mitigation. The essence of the problem is how much mitigation do you really need? If the team is steamrolling usually only one or two people (alpha baits) are taking a lot of damage anyway and usually they're equipped to take it. They don't need the defense that FF provides.

On a fast moving team of competent people who work well together I'd rather have a sonic. On a PuG with a bunch of nutjobs snacking on lead paint chips I'd go with FF.

I watched the video presentation and skimmed some of the hero-con threads but didn't see this mentioned. Source? Speculation? Halp!
