  1. I agree with everything you said, Snow Globe.

My biggest beef with the trial still has to do with the "time freeze," though. If he's freezing time, how come the clock keeps going, his DoT attacks (and especially Disintigration) still do damage to us, and his stupid space ship can still nuke us with Obliteration?
  2. It's the same code for sure, EK. I checked.

I don't know anything about "doublefacepalm" though.
  3. I don't understand why one should think that EVERY villain should be "disgusting" or EVERY villain should be "glamorous." Redside is way more fun to play when you've got different types/levels of evil in your stable.

Just to go through a few of my characters:

I have 2 Freakshow-themed villains. My Elec/Shield Brute is very much in the camp of "let the world burn, I just want to have fun." The SS/Invuln Brute is out to prove that he's better than the other Tank Smashers and should have a place at directly at Dreck's side (or possibly in his throne).

My main villain is very much the "glamorous" villain, though. In fact, he's very much a rogue by the game's definition. He isn't in it for the money--he wants the infamy and to be seen as truly strong, and will skirt the line of the law for a chance to make headlines. And the only reason he's evil at all is because he hates my main hero and wants him disgraced and/or dead.

Then I have another villain, who has effectively gone insane from hatred. He hates everything, including himself, and his body won't let him die. He kills indiscriminately because he sees no value in any life, and he's convinced that the only way to end his own pain is to destroy the entire universe.

They're all fun to play at times: the anarchist, the guy who wants to prove his worth, the show-off and the "DEATH DEATH DEATH EVIL EVIL!" guy.

(That's barely scratching the surface... I've also got a terrorist sympathizer, a crippled woman who made a pact with a demon to become mobile again, an immortal six-gun for hire, a bullied nerd out for revenge on the world... and those are just the characters I can think of off the top of my head.)

    East Coast Quake

I was sick in bed, asleep, at the time of the quake. I'm only about 100mi or so away from the epicenter, and I didn't even notice it.

The only thing I had to suggest that there was something wrong was when I woke up an hour later and tried to make some phone calls and kept getting messages that all circuits were busy.

I think the OP's suggestion means dropping the requirement that the raid start via the SG raid teleporter and using the Team-Up Teleporter instead... a suggestion I am entirely in favor of.
  6. It's a way for new players to get a jump into the game for a month prior to Freedom's launch.

    Double XP Tally!

I got a Street Justice/Energy Aura Scrapper to 23. Shame he got deleted this afternoon.

Agreed. I've been spending the last few days there testing the new enemies and missions, and it's a beautiful zone with really strong content.

I think my favorite part of First Ward is when you enter a Shadowed Path and look up to see shooting stars streaking across the sky.
  11. Happy birthday, David! Thanks again for loaning me that Sharpee at Comic Con, and for signing my CoH shirt!

As GP said, the idea is an extra one at 25, 27 and 29.

Which is great... that's right after you start getting access to enhancements that are actually effective, and the enemies you face really start requiring that added effectiveness.

For one, they want to make sure that existing characters can grab those extra slots WITHOUT a respec. Once this gets fixed, you should be able to go visit any trainer, even at level 50, and get those extra slots.

One of the problems they were having, though, was that enhancements that were placed in these bonus slots were getting randomly deleted under strange circumstances.
  13. For those of you who aren't checking out the beta but are still interested in what's going to be in the store, I'm working to maintain a spreadsheet of EVERYTHING. Currently I have the first three categories mapped out. Next will come the costume options (sometime this weekend), and then the rest of the categories are mostly just rehashes of what's already done.

    Discussion Thread

    Just the Spreadsheet

I'd say that's a large part of your problem right there. See if you can upgrade the system to 2GB, which should only cost you about $20 these days.

Also, how old is this rig? Hard drives begin to slow down as they age, so your slow loading may be due to poor seek times as well.
  15. *snrk*

I believe what Texas Justice is trying to say is that you need to give us some more info. If you can post the output from CoH Helper and Hijack This!, maybe we can figure out what's causing the problems.

But for starters, I'd recommend defragging the drive you have City of Heroes installed on, and make sure it's got plenty of free space available (at least 10% of the total volume).
  16. I'd settle for "Pay $X to transfer all your badges to another character."

    No prob.

What do you write? If it's fiction, I'd be up to putting an extra pair of eyes on it. If it's non-fiction... well, it'd better be really badass or funny, or I'll be bored.
  18. Unfortunately this was one of the features that the City Vault was supposed to have, but they found that connecting the external interface to the game servers caused game-crushing unplayable lag.

Agreed, this would be very nice... but it's not highly likely to occur through the official game/website.

(Maybe this is something that could eventually be done through the CoH Titan 3rd party application?)

This is correct--the current patch that's on the Beta server was there prior to the start of this thread. I would expect the graphics in the first post to be very close, if not exact, to the final version of the design.

Street Justice isn't going to be available at i21's launch, just like I'd guessed. It'll be coming a few weeks later.

(And that was an actual guess inferred from what they said at Comic Con, not any sekrit beta knowledge.)
  22. Super Reflexes on a concept character that isn't softcapped.

(I'll let you know if I feel the same way once I've softcapped him using an amazing build from the nice people in the Scrapper forums.)

This is where you should post:

    City of Heroes Suggestion Forum

Your ideas aren't exactly new (in fact, they're pretty popular inquiries for new players), but they're not all feasible. For one, an underwater area would have issues with a lot of player powers (if you're a fire user, how do your powers work?) and require new animations for every power in the game to be used while in "swim" mode.

And as for an outer space area involving the Rikti's homeworld? They're not from another planet, they're from a parallel dimension. And the further you get into the game, specifically the Rikti War Zone storyarcs, the more you learn about their origin and why they're attacking us.
