  1. Vista drivers should work just fine on Win 7... but if they don't, that's what you installed Driver Sweeper for. >_>

Sorry, I don't generally game on a laptop and didn't realize the old drivers weren't available the way the old desktop drivers are...

For the defense buff. It gives more defense for less endurance cost than Maneuvers, and the idea was basically a way for me to be at the softcap to Melee and Ranged when solo (and 44.5% to AoE). When teamed, I figured Phalanx Fighting would keep me well above the softcap a good part of the time.
  4. I recently brought an old Freakshow-themed Elec/Shield/Mu Brute out of storage at a friend's request, and remembered how much I enjoyed playing him in the past. My ultimate goal for the character is to be an AoE-dropping psychopath, causing destruction and generally living up to his Freakshow past. However, he's still on a pre-i19 build (he's using classic Fitness instead of Inherent Fitness), so he needs a respec pretty badly... so here's what I've come up with on my own.

I'm concerned I focused too much on getting softcapped and not enough on things like the +MaxHP bonus from True Grit... not to mention I feel like I'm missing something and the attacks themselves could be slotted better.

Anyone care to evaluate my build and perhaps give a couple pointers as to things I may have overlooked?

  5. I believe it's 3 Radio/Paper missions to a Safeguard/Mayhem Mission up until level 20 or 25, and then after that it's 5 per.
  6. Because when a mommy and a daddy either love each other--or, in your mother's and my case, get very drunk--they make an annoying, snot-nosed infant who never stops asking "Whyyyyy?"

    (Why?)
  7. Because your mother didn't listen to me when I said that it was a bad idea to drink a case of cough syrup every day while she was pregnant.

    (Why?)
  8. Nope, 'tis true of at least UGT, TPN and MoM. I'm not sure about Keyes.

BAF and Lambda still give Astrals upon any completions beyond the first for the day.

Developers rarely comment on bugs/issues in the tech support forum--this is a forum for players to help other players.

Your best bet would be to PM your problem to one of the community representatives (Zwillinger, Beastyle, Freitag) or board moderators and ask them what steps you need to take to escalate the issue for a resolution. Make sure you're polite--don't expect help if you rage at them over a problem they know nothing about and have no control over. These are community reps, not developers.
  10. You'll have:
    • 2 character slots for FREE
    • 2 character slots if you purchased Going Rogue prior to Freedom's launch
    • 1 character slot for every year you had previously subscribed
    • 1 character slot for every additional character slot you purchased beyond the base of 12 per server

You MIGHT (but are not guaranteed to) have:
    • 2 character slots if your account was active during the first month if Issue 12's release

Your maximum character slots per server will be limited to 36 (the pre-Freedom maximum; now you can have up to 48 if you pay for them). Since you're Tier 9, you will NOT lose any access to global chat channels, Invention & Auction House systems or Mission Architect. Since you paid for Going Rogue, you will always have access to its mission content, costume options, power sets and the Morality system.

You will lose access to Time Manipulation. You will lose access to the First Ward mission content of Issue 21 (but can still visit the zone if you like). You will lose access to the Signature Story Arcs. Dark Control is coming out soon in Issue 22, and that's a VIP power set... so you'll lose access to it. (All of these can be paid for individually if you like.)

  12. I would try doing a clean uninstallation of your video drivers using a tool like Driver Sweeper, then reinstall them.

Basically, uninstall the drivers from your Control Panel / Programs and Features, restart and boot into Safe Mode by pressing F8 while the system is loading and run Driver Sweeper from Safe Mode to get rid of all your remaining driver components and registry settings. Then, reboot back into normal Windows and reinstall the ATI drivers that you feel work best with your laptop (11.4, 11.9 and 11.12 were all generally pretty good if I recall correctly).

  14. You only get credit for the Helper line of badges for WST runs that don't give you the bonus merits or Notice of the Well.

In order to get the Helper badges in one week, you have to run the WST 51 times. Spread it out over two weeks and you have to do the WSTs 52 times. Three weeks, 53 times, etc. (Basically, 50+X , where X is the number of weeks in which you do the WST at least once.)

    PVP Badges

    Quote:

    Five minutes. http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Reputation

If you're specifically going for the rep badges, I find that it helps to have a stable of 30+ characters parked against the south wall of Warburg that you can quickly switch to (preferably with trays full of wakeys on any villains). Player one defeats all of player two's characters, then player one switches through their alts while player two's badge hunter attacks. Repeat ad infinitum... or until both people are at 400 PVP rep.

If you try and do it all in one evening, be ready to sit there for hours on end doing nothing else. It can get very tedious. Back when I was farming for the badge (which was also when PVP rep was on a ten minute timer), I decided to work on 100 rep per night and then go do other things that were actually fun.
  16. Um... er...

    Sticky Dog Jones?
  17. Hah, round two had some good ones in it too!

Making a man shaped like a firecracker... very cute.

And the Beijing Dragon lady? Very cool, kinda scary. Great use of the Omega parts!
  18. I tend to base most of my costumes around things that the characters themselves would have available. If they're human, they're not going to be wearing a lot of tights (especially tight pants), and instead will likely be wearing standard pants with a design painted on.

My main character fights crime in jeans and a teeshirt 99% of the time, and my main villain's primary garb is a black muscle top with cargo pants. The villain also has his "contractor" suit, which he wears more often than not these days, consisting of a relatively nice suit under a burgundy trench coat--he cares more about his appearance than my hero. (They also, recently, have Incarnate costumes... though only my villain ever wears his, and even then only during Incarnate trials.)

I try to put together a costume, then put myself in the character's place and ask myself, "Would I be embarrassed to be seen in this outfit as a superhero/villain?" There are times, such as with a couple teen heroes I have, that my answer doesn't matter because they think it looks cool... but on a more serious character, if I feel they'd be reluctant to go out in that costume, then I start over.
  19. Those pics were actually taken in the original Paragon Dance Club, Zombie Man.

I've been a huge fan of the Monkey King legends for years. When that video of Staff Fighting got leaked a few months back, and I heard about the Forms and the ability to do Energy Damage with a staff, I realized I HAD to make a Sun Wukong character, and thus created this costume which is just kinda sitting on a placeholder character for the time being. From what I've seen of Staff Fighting so far in the beta, he's going to become one of my favorite characters.

Still haven't decided whether to pair him with Stone Armor or Energy Aura yet, but I've been testing with Stone and it's fun.

Thank you all very much. As they say, it's an honor to even be nominated... but really, I can only thank the developers for giving me the tools to put together such an impressive likeness of one of my most cherished storybook heroes. The fact that he's a public domain character and thus can't get banhammered helps, though.

    Decoy Army

They don't need to change Phantom Army's powers. I think they should make it so they continue using the same powers they do now, just wearing (a slightly transparent version of) the player's costume.
  24. I notice you have Ultra Mode options turned on for your GeForce 9500 GT card. While that's not going to affect your network bandwidth, the card really isn't powerful enough to handle them, and you'll see better general performance if you turn them off. (Once you get the network issues straightened out, I'd suggest your next PC upgrade be for your video card.)

Other than that, the issues you're describing sound like a network bottleneck. How are you connecting to the internet? Are you using wireless? Do you own the router, or is it rented from your provider?

I had issues with my wireless signal dropping out for no reason (and even my wired desktop would lose connection on occassion!) when I moved a couple months back, and in order to get it to go away, I had to reset the router to the factory default and reconfigure it from scratch. It's a boring way to spend a couple hours, but it's worth a shot.

If this happens as regularly as you say, you can also call your internet provider and ask them to monitor your connection while it's happening. They'll be able to let you know whether it's an issue on your side or something between your home and the rest of the web (though if it's the latter, don't expect them to be able to do much to fix it).
