PVP Badges
I've a question regarding the best manner of obtaining the PVP reputation badges. And I know just posting this I probably placed a huge target on my atomic back. But anyhoo:
1) Whats the best zone for a defender to pvp in? 2) Team or no team? 3) Is there ANY way (taking out turrets, participating in the melees in Siren's) other than direct confrontation with people who have mini-maxed their characters to death and can probably one shot me at their leisure? Any advise is welcome. These are some of the last badges I need, and I have put them off because I hate the pvps. |
The zones are fairly dead. Find some friends to fight you. *shrug*
As far as "non fighting" badges, there aren't that many - you get one for completing a PVE mission in the zone, one for defeating a firebase in BB, explore badges (of course,) launching the rocket 10 (?) times in WB, and for doing various things in RV (defeating each of the patrons, controlling a heavy some amount of times, etc.) as well as just for burning time in the zones.
But for the rep, etc - you must fight.
Wanted: Origin centric story arcs.
If you've only played an AT once (one set combo) and "hate" it - don't give up. Roll a different combo. It may just be those sets not clicking for you.

For the rep badges, if you don't enjoy PvP, I would suggest getting together with a friend. That's how I got my PvP rep badges. A friend of mine and I would log through our various alts in an out of the way location in Warburg. We'd take turns killing each other. It was a grind, but was certainly much easier than doing it the legit way, given that this game (at least on my server) has a very small PvP community.
Good luck.
Q. Just wondering Posi, where are the new dance emotes we were told would come with GR?
A. Positron: Whoops, my bad.
1387 badges, and counting
As already stated, most of the PvP badges are for non-PvP activities. Maybe start with some of those as "low hanging fruit."

How i got my Rep badge?
I'm a hero, more heroes on my server so i went to Warburg.
Offered some inf if people would help me out. I had a friend with 3 accounts in there, and 4 others just standing in line. Most didn't even want the inf.
Took me 3 sessions of a few hours doing it, got 4 PvP recipes which i shared the profit with the person who it dropped from.
Then a friend asks me if i can help him with his Rep badge.
He's a Rogue, so we went to RV.
Standing at a HAVS Terminal, just either using wakies or going to my base.
He killed me as fast as he could, helping me with the 250 HAVS badge, trying to get him drops, and he got 6 Rep per kill till he got to 360Rep himself.
At that point we called for help, and we had some showing up to do so.
It took him about 3 sessions of a few hours to get the Rep badge too, while helping me get my 250 HAVS badge the fastest way known to mankind :P (If you have /Auctionhouse makes it easier to get wakies.. i don't have it, but my friend does.)
I hope you can use this info, and good luck

I forget, how often can you defeat another character and have it count for rep?
If I dual box or fight a friend, how fast can we kill one another?
Level 50 is a journey, not a destination.

If you're specifically going for the rep badges, I find that it helps to have a stable of 30+ characters parked against the south wall of Warburg that you can quickly switch to (preferably with trays full of wakeys on any villains). Player one defeats all of player two's characters, then player one switches through their alts while player two's badge hunter attacks. Repeat ad infinitum... or until both people are at 400 PVP rep.
If you try and do it all in one evening, be ready to sit there for hours on end doing nothing else. It can get very tedious. Back when I was farming for the badge (which was also when PVP rep was on a ten minute timer), I decided to work on 100 rep per night and then go do other things that were actually fun.
