It's Tuesday, that means it's NEW STUFFS DAY!
First of all, ho. Ly. PANCAKE. Storage increases are on sale this week! <3 <3 <3
Now that I've gotten that off my chest, let's talk about what's new. This week, we're getting 50% XP Boosters (1 hr at 240 PP, 4 hrs at 720 PP, 8 hrs at 960 PP) and Double XP Boosters (1 hr at 360 PP, 4 hrs at 1080 PP, 8 hrs at 1440 PP). Can't help but feel those are priced a little bit high, and also, Double XP Boosters are only going to remain available until April 30th, at least for now.
We've also got the Hecatomb Store-Bought Enhancement Set added to the store at 400 PP per enhancement (or 2000 for the whole set), and it will also only be available for a limited release until April 30th. (They are on sale for 50% off during this release period.)
The Who Will Die?: Complete Collection Ep. 1-7 was also released today at a standard price of 2400 PP, but is also only available until April 30 and is 50% off until then.
Now on to the sales... and it might almost be shorter to mention what isn't on sale this week!- Character Respec tokens are on sale for 50% off (400PP)
- The "Create a Praetorian" feature of the Going Rogue expansion is on sale for 25% off (900PP)
- Enhancement Increase (1 of 2) and (2 of 2) are on sale for 25% off (1200 PP each). Each is an extra tray of enhancements (10 slots) that each character on your account can carry, to a max of 30!
- Salvage Inv Increase (1 of 10) through (10 of 10) are on sale for 50% off (400PP each). Each gives you an additional 10 Invention Salvage worth of storage space that each character on your account can carry!
- Recipe Inv Increase (1 of 10) through (10 of 10) are on sale for 50% off (400PP each). Each gives you an additional 5 Recipes worth of storage space that each character on your account can carry!
- To let you celebrate the 8th anniversary of City of Heroes in style, the New Year's Firework Emotes (Rocket Flare, Bloom and Sparkle) are back until April 30th and sale for 25% off (30PP each).
- The original XP Booster temp powers that increase XP by 25% for 1 hour each are on sale for 50% off (1x @ 60PP, 3x @ 150PP, 5x @ 225 PP)
- Enhancement Boosters are on sale for 25% off (5x @ 150PP, 30x @ 675PP, 90x @ 1350)
- The Hecatomb Store Bought Enhancements are on sale for 50% off (200PP individually, or 1000 PP as a set)
- The Who Will Die?: Complete Collection Ep. 1-7 bundle is on sale for 50% off (1200 PP)
Definitely won't get all this added to the spreadsheet or update the OP before I have to leave in a few minutes, but I don't think I'm going to mind the 2+ hours it's going to take to get everything added and formatted correctly this week. -
I'll be updating late tomorrow. Have to get up early to be somewhere around 7:00ish (that's Eastern... yes, only 6 hours after when I'm writing this). I'll try to jump on for a few minutes somewhere in between my shower and my ride to do a quick write up, but expect it to be a little dodgy at until I get home to do the full update tomorrow afternoon.

Quote:... And that's why I stopped playing my main for 4½ months and started playing alts. I deleted half of them as soon as I was able to fix the powers on my main character. For the first 5 months of the game we were stuck with the powers and slotting we had selected when we trained up.
Then I made BETTER alts. -
I made a character that looks like a monkey, and everyone cheers him on when he breakdances, so it's all good in my book. And since he's Staff/Stone, the breakdance part kicks them with Rooted on his feet, and suddenly it's kind of awesome.

Which Kin?
ALL THE KINS!
That said, I've really enjoyed my /Kin Controllers. I've got a Grav/Kin, which mesh together so well I'm almost positive that's what the original developers intended. I've also got a Fire/Kin, which was the original FOTM (Flavor of the Month) build for farming before Inventions were released in i9 and STILL powerful as hell now. I also have an Elec/Kin, which is fantastic for depleting your foes' endurance bars and keeping them floored. -
No U!
Let me guess, you're one of the people who says Dual Pistols sucks (or it MUST be paired with Energy Manipulation) because it doesn't have Aim, right?
I'm having a blast on my Staff/Stone Brute. Using Form of the Soul for up to 33% global End Redux more than makes up for a lack of Build Up (or similar clone) in my opinion. Once I finish my build and don't need the endurance reduction quite as badly, I'll be switching to Form of the Mind for up to a 15% global Recharge bonus or Form of the Body for a similar global Damage bonus.
You also say it should do damage on the level with Titan Weapons? (Condescending Wonka thinks that's adorable.) Tell me: thematically, how does it make sense for a guy swinging a thin stick to do as much damage than a guy lugging around an 8 foot long sword? -
Took my sweet time grabbing Brotherly Love after the fix a couple weeks ago, but now I'm done.

Simple solution: Next time they offer a deal on a long-term subscription, buy one. I think the 12+2 month sub ends up being like $10.25/mo. Then you never have to worry about missing out on a loyalty reward again.

NOTE: You will need today's Mids' update to see this build.
Hi all,
I'm loving my new Staff Brute so much that I think I'm willing to put some serious effort into his build--serious enough to try and get a Gladiator +3% Def enhancement, anyway.
Anything I'm overlooking? Should I move Brute's Fury to a different power (I originally had it in Mud Pots, but decided that would be a better place for Armageddon)? And most importantly: am I correct my assumption that taking Staff Mastery at any level allows the Form abilities no matter how far back you've exemped?
Of course, I'm trying to counteract the recharge deficit applied by Granite Armor, so I slotted heavily for +Recharge bonuses. And since it's a Brute, I'm aiming for a lot of +MaxHP as well. This is also intended to be an end-game build; I'll put together a second, cheaper build that will have Brimstone, Crystal and Minerals for exemping or facing Psychic foes.
Anyway, I'd love to hear the thoughts of others. This is my first level 50 Brute--and my first Stone Armor character that made it far enough to reach Granite Armor--so I'd like to know if I'm doing something wrong.

Judging from the other set of pics on the beta forum, the wings will remain stationary (that is to say, not flapping) while in flight, and then fold downward while landed. Additionally, it seems that there is a jet thruster in the back that activates during flight.

Quote:I'm pretty sure it IS Titan Weapons. What is that weapon? What the hell set is that using?
I....guess it could be an existing weapon at some very odd angle, but it doesn't look like Katana or Titan Weapons...?
But I'm not "Golden Girl" sure, so I'll leave off the winky. -
To be fair, that's actually the point--to look similar to the items worn by signature characters, but remain obviously different in the end.
-
Melee/Support and Assault/Defense are the most common requests I've seen for a new AT. I think either one of them would be fun to play.

Quote:Pretty sure that's not a thing. There is no Rad secondary for Blasters. Were you thinking of Corruptor, maybe?I also forgot to add I tried rad/rad blaster before. NEVER AGAIN.
I do know that my Rad/Mental Blaster is the only Blaster I've ever made that I can actually stand to play.
-----
I can totally see why everyone else says Force Field, though. I've never played the set myself, nor am I ever likely to with Cold Domination being much more well-rounded (with a few strong debuffs and SLEET! <3) and available on any AT I'd actually want to synergize it with. Here's hoping it comes to Masterminds in the next round of proliferation (though not sure what I'd use as a primary there). -
I PMed Freitag when I first saw the list at about 12:45 (Eastern), and by 1:00 they were fixed.

Quote:It's the bundle of the Martial Arts super booster, not brand new costume pieces. Are the Martial Arts costume pieces the ones from the old MA Superbooster? Or are they New?
Once upon a time, the MA bundle was bugged in the i21 beta and charged more than 400 Points when purchased, so it had to be pulled from the live release until it could be fixed. -
