It has been 8 years now...

It has been 8 years since the Terra Volta Respec Trial opened its doors. Where are the /savetray and /loadtray commands that would make respeccing so much less painful? It seems like it should be trivial to implement, you can just dump a text file with the name of each power (or the macro def) as a text file, and then when loading any invalid powers (powers you don't have anymore) are just left blank. I think most people will agree that the worst part about respeccing is rebuilding your trays from the ground up each time.

Uhm do you realize this is the Players asking Players section of the forums? Only a dev could answer this question.

This sounds like a Suggestion. You should make it down in the Suggestions section, or request the thread be moved so we can all agree and /sign it. Up here it will disappear into obscurity and be forgotten.

No most people complain that the worst part about respecs is having to recreate an entire build from scratch when they only want to tweak or change a single power. Compared to that the tray thing s just an annoyance which is made simpler with /cleartray.

Quite right. I make use of /cleartray after every respec, and don't find rebuilding my trays terribly time consuming. But to do a whole respec when only a slot here or a power there need tweaking is annoying.

Q. Just wondering Posi, where are the new dance emotes we were told would come with GR?
A. Positron: Whoops, my bad.

1387 badges, and counting

I was in the middle of a ITF, dinged 41, and meant to get Frozen Armor...

Although, Hoarfrost IS working out.

Incorrect.

The Terra Volta Respec was released with Issue 2 on September 16, 2004.

For the first 5 months of the game we were stuck with the powers and slotting we had selected when we trained up.

The 8 year anniversary of the release of the game is this coming weekend.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

... And that's why I stopped playing my main for 4½ months and started playing alts. I deleted half of them as soon as I was able to fix the powers on my main character.

Then I made BETTER alts.

but back then we got freespecs with each issue :-D

that aside, I beleve the OP is asking where the ability to save our trays (as they are before respec) is since it's been a long time since the respec ability was introduced. Honestly I too think this is a bit of a hold over as the number one issue I ever have with respecs is the tedius task of remembering where everything was at before I changed something. especially if the respec was simply to reallocate slots and not change powers.

First freespec was with Issue 3 or thereabouts. It was part of the first winter event, as I recall.

Take screenshots of your setups before you do the respec so you have a reference.
