  1. At the time of posting this, your suggestions had been up for less than half an hour each.

Neither of your suggestions are original (base "pets" like NPC butlers, etc have been discussed before, and the game's lead developer, War Witch, just did an interview where she said they won't be adding weather until there's a more compelling reason than "it would look neat"), they're poorly worded and they're only three and two lines long, respectively... showing that you put almost no thought into them yourself.

Finally, just to reiterate in case you didn't catch it in my last paragraph, when you're talking about rain and snow and such, IT'S SPELLED WEATHER.

Bad Alpha Dog. No barking, no jumping! Noooo biscuit.
  2. Yes and no. I made one of my (few) 50s an Incarnate last night, but I don't really want him to be one. Within the world of the game, he's supposed to be a pretty mediocre superhero.

The reason I did, though, is because he's probably my best team-based character, and he'll be able to bring a lot to the table on the harder TFs and the upcoming raids in i20 and beyond. I'd rather have the ability to bring him out and contribute when my friends need the assistance than have to make them wait for him to catch up... or worse, actually hinder their efforts.

Thus, I've personally broken down the characters that will be going Incarnate into two groups: 1) the ones that I'm doing so because they "deserve it" (my mains and other favored characters whose stories and personalities dictate a need for additional power), and 2) those that I'm doing so because it makes them more effective teammates.
  3. In case you were wondering, Gwen, the Going Rogue: Complete Collection isn't just for creating new accounts--it can be used to update an existing account as well. The Complete Collection comes with two additional costume sets and auras, a (nearly useless) stealth power, and a free month of game time.

To upgrade an account, one just needs to log in with their CoH account on http://us.ncsoft.com/en/ and click the "Use a Serial Code" link on the right side of the page.

No one knows, as no players have tested the level shift mechanics before. But with everything we know about the way these critters work, I would personally imagine that they will still con exactly the same as they do now after a level shift.
  5. And the "Check for Updates" feature doesn't find an update, either...

I agree, but at least you can type "/cleartray" after the respec. It'll empty all of your trays.
  7. My Kat/SR's new build has:

All the SR powers (5 slots in the toggles, 4 in the passive defenses, 1 in everything else)
5 Katana attacks (6 slots) + Build Up (3 slots)
    Air Superiority (5 slots)
    Focused Accuracy (5 slots)
    Energy Torrent (5 slots)
    Hasten (3 slots)
    Health (4 slots)
    Stamina (3 slots)
Everything else just has the single default slot.

I'm not attempting to softcap (on this build; note the lack of Tough and Weave), but it puts out a really nice amount of damage and is still much more survivable than my i18 build.

    *****
You're going to have one real problem if you want to focus heavily on damage in your attacks, though, and that's endurance. Stamina alone will not make up for running 3+ toggles and spamming an attack chain, so you're almost always going to want to put at least one End Redux enhancement in all your attack powers.
  8. Wow, birthdays abound today. Happy birthday, Viv!!!
  9. KHAAAAAAAAAAZ!

Happy birthday, dude. (If I'd have known, I wouldn't have given my purple drop to Valdy yesterday! )

    1,100 Club.

I'm at 1109 for the moment, but I'll likely be close to the current badge cap by the end of next week.

I had too much fun beating things up in my post-respec glory yesterday, I can get moar badgez later.
  11. I'm all Musculature Boosted now. It's almost making a difference in the fact that nearly everything in the 50+ game has resistance to lethal damage.
  12. I just got one from a Rikti attack on Grandville while solo as I was about to log for the night.

    I19 Respec Bug

The Fitness Pool is now Inherent--EVERY character gets every power from it at level 2.

Thus, it will no longer show up on your power selection screens. It will be shown during a respec when slotting only, just like Sprint, Brawl, etc.
  15. I had a tiny violin for you...

... but a mouse eated it.

Grab some Shivans, Shubbie. That's how I tackled him.
  16. It's not Microsoft's fault that a game that wasn't programmed by Microsoft doesn't play well with their screen capture utility.

    Regardless, do this:

    1) Open an MS Paint window (or anything that doesn't take a lot of resources and can be moved around the screen). Drag it down so it's hanging off the bottom of your screen, but you can still reach the title bar.

    2) Open your City of Heroes program and go to whatever you want to take a screenshot of.

    3) Hit Alt+Tab to go to your alternate window and hit the Print Screen button.

    4) Bring your MS Paint window up and paste whatever you took a snapshot of in the window.

You may have to use a non-Aero theme, at least temporarily, in order to take these screenshots.
  17. Castle mentioned back in the GR beta that a respec renovation was something they were looking into, but that wasn't currently in any particular schedule.

I seriously doubt they're going to increase the amount of "free" enhancement storage, though (free in the sense that you now have 10 slots that can be rearranged, traded and sold from).

I certainly agree that the interface for respeccing needs to be made a lot more user-friendly, though. It's very clunky as it is now.

Seriously, this. My mains are a Scrapper, a Stalker and a Brute. It's not all "Hulk SMASH!" all the time, people. Sometimes, you have to let out the Grey Hulk and actually think a problem through.

    Heads up

You can only add one of each retail code to an account, from my personal experience.

On my main account, I've got the standard CoH release, CoH DVD Collector's Edition, CoV standard, GvE Edition, Mac Edition, Architect Edition and the GR: Complete Collection.

I've never tried with a standard edition CoH code, but I did try to add a second GvE retail code to my account at one point and it wouldn't let me.
  20. They should get all four Fitness powers the first time you log in with them.

My "Fitness build" gives me an additional +73% Recovery and +135% Regeneration.

Find your default recovery (100 Endurance at normal Recovery is 1.67 End/s) and multiply it by your total recovery bonus. In my case, with 110 base Endurance due to Accolades, 132% + 73% = 205% Recovery, which nets me 3.77 Endurance recovered every second.

Regeneration gets trickier, with the number of +Max HP abilities and set bonuses offered in the game, but it can be done similarly. You find your base regeneration rate and multiply it by the % Regen bonus.

(Of course, if you absolutely HAVE to squeeze every bit of performance out of your build and don't want to wait for the Mids' update, you could always write a spreadsheet that crunches the numbers for you.)

STEP 1: Make one Mids' build that doesn't have any Fitness powers in it. Save X number of slots at the end that you plan to use on Health and Stamina.

STEP 2: Make a second Mids' build that has nothing BUT the Fitness powers in it. Use only the X number of slots left over from Step 1.

    STEP 3: Respec your character.

The people who work on the Mids' tool aren't paid to do so. They don't work for Paragon Studios or NCSoft. They do it as a labor of love for the game and the player base. Man up and deal with not having an update right now; one will likely be available soon.

He wanted to know if the Rare and Ultra Rare Alpha Boosts were available.

And to that I say, you get exactly what was available in the beta.
