Level Bump

With Rare and Very Rare Incarnates become available. I know they give a level bump...

My question is, when all the incarnate levels for Alpha become available...does it bump you to 51 or with the very rare 52?

Also, will you gain more strength with the level shift able to deal out more damage and caps being raised like when you normally level....or will the only thing that change is the baddies name colors will change?

It's not a level bump per se. It looks like it will be like sidekicking, in that you are Combat level 51, but you're still Security level 50. So basically, your powers will get stronger, but you won't get any new slots, powers, etc....

Yeah it's not a change in level in any way. Just more power.

There will probably be a level shift aspect to the rares and very rares of each tier of Incarnate powers. It would explain why the devs stated that Incarnates would allow you to achieve a "theroetical level 60".

It would basically mean we will eventually see level 60 (or higher) enemies in extremely challenging content that full Incarnate slotting would be required for. You would be helpless against a level 60 enemy as a level 50, but if you had 10 level shift pieces equipped they would be even con to you.

From what I understand, there are going to be level shift inspirations at some point as well. Use an inspiration and for the next minute the game will consider you one combat level higher than normal.

Well, I've been able to take out +8 minions before with a non-optimal build. A +10 minion may well be possible...although it would take a strong build and/or a ton of inspirations.

3 +10 minions would be horrific.

For giant monsters, rikti pylons and invasions. Will you become more powerful relative to them? Or will they scale up with you?

No one knows, as no players have tested the level shift mechanics before. But with everything we know about the way these critters work, I would personally imagine that they will still con exactly the same as they do now after a level shift.

From the game mechanics I can't possibly believe they'd waste time creating something new as opposed to using the existing sidekicking mechanic. Which means if you look at say a level 15 character joining a level 50 team to fight Admastor, the game can't tell the difference between that scenario and a level 50 with boosts up to 54 fighting admastor.

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

People in the Issue 20 Closed Beta probably know, but they can't say due to the actual NDA they had to sign for it.

(And no, this is not an implicit admission of being in I20 CB. I barely even have time to play on the Live servers.)

I predict that a lot of people will act like they know and argue about it, though. :P

IIRC during the I18 beta someone found a level shift inspiration. I don't know if a character actually got it, or it was just visible on the market, though.
