Quote:Welcome to City of Heroes. City of Heroes is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game. As such, most of the newer content is designed for multiple teams. And I, for one, say it's about time. If you do not like teaming, perhaps a MMOG is not best suited for you.I see from the Beta forums that this year's Winter Event will probably require a minimum of 12 players to access, only via the LFG tab.
I'm sick of being offered content which requires huge (to me) groups. My preferred playstyle is to duo with my SG-mate.
We'll do the Winter Event once for the badge but will probably view it as a chore rather than take pleasure in it.

This is tonight, y'all! Hope to see y'all in the War Zone.

Only if you intend on farming Incarnate trials, and even then, not really, as there should be plenty of defense buffs to spare. 45% defense is the sweet spot. Another percentage point or two would be helpful to pad against defense debuffs, but more than that is overkill.

It was a joke. Stryker asked people to immobilize Hamidon during Hamidon raids. You know, to prevent him from sneaking up on unsuspecting raiders or something. When Hamidon actually did move during a Hamidon raid a couple of weeks ago, I thought, "Huh. I guess Stryker was right after all." Something reminded me of that this morning, and I thought it was funny, so I thought I'd share. I suppose though that it wasn't too funny if I had to explain it. :P

Quote:Wrong. I'm not about to make the reasons why the channel was started public, but as I said earlier, suffice it to say we had them. Believe me, starting a channel was one of the last things I wanted to do, but I believe necessary. It is a new channel like all the other new channels because the person who gets to choose who is silenced is different.
This is the exact issue with why we need an in game true global LFT channel.
New folks are silenced because of course they would not want to start a team.
Wrong again. New folks are auto-silenced because should trouble arise (and, people being people, it will, sadly enough), should someone be silenced by a channel op, all they would have to do is leave the channel and rejoin to become unsilenced and start trouble again. It's already happened on another Exalted server global channel. This is the only way, save making the channel private, to get around that.
Were it a perfect world, there would be no need for another Exalted server global channel, and there would be no need to auto-silence newcomers. Unfortunately, we do not live in a perfect world. In the meantime, I and the other Exalted League channel operators do what we can to make Exalted League as friendly a place for Exalted server players as reasonably possible. -
Every Saturday, the Stoned Templars host a blue side Hamidon raid on the Exalted server. I know, I know, Champion or GTFO. Anyways.
A couple of Saturdays ago, we were just about finished the second bloom of mitos... when Hamidon actually moved about 10 feet to the right. Everyone at the raid saw it.
So, as much as it pains me to say it, Stryker was right. Use those immobilizes, people! :P -
Okie, now that I'm home and can see the pictures...
Hilarious! -
Quote:1. Turn Force Bubble onHey all,
Years ago I created a Bubbles/NRG defender and got him up to level 42 by teaming with some friends. I never found him particularly compelling to play and when the group stopped playing together I stopped playing the toon. I've recently come back to the game and seeing this level 42 character there (A character who's concept/costume I really enjoy) makes me really want to log back on and get him to 50/try some of the end game content on him.
The problem of course is I'm still not terribly thrilled by the bubbles powerset. I always found it like playing a more passive/lower damage blaster. I know the buffs I'm throwing down are hugely beneficial to the team but I feel like it's a hugely hands off power set. Am I just playing it wrong? Has anyone got suggestions on how I can make the character more exciting?
Cheers,
Graff
2. Set a Brute or Tanker on your team to auto-follow

I would pay 6000 Paragon Points for a growth powerset. Yes, 6000. Make it happen.

I have a level 50 Force Field / Fire Blast Defender that will very shortly have Interface unlocked. However, I can't decide on which Interface to use!
The popular Interface is Reactive Radial, and the extra fire damage would fit the toon's Fire Blast theme, but since everyone and their mother seems to have Reactive Radial and it only stacks twice, it seems rather pointless to take to me.
I was looking at the upcoming Interfaces available in Issue 21.5, and the Spectral Interface seems interesting. Having a chance to immobilize targets would make Rain of Fire even more yummy. However, Diamagnetic Radial also looks interesting for the -regen.
Any suggestions? -
I went Cardiac Core with my Force Field Defender. Between the two bubbles, Disperson Bubble, Maneuvers, and Power Buildup, I'm able to get my entire team's defenses to 59.6% on my own, so I saw no point in Nerve. Between IO set bonuses and Hasten, my global recharge is 135%, which is plenty for a bubbler, and I don't have any heals, so I saw no point in Spiritual. Musculature seemed a bit of a waste, as Defenders have the lowest base damage in the game. That left Cardiac. Cardiac is helpful, as Force Field tends to be an endurance hog, especially if you have Force Bubble running, and the extra damage resistance and range is nice.

Quote:Suffice it to say, I, along with others, felt there was a need for a new Exalted server global channel. If others are happy with another Exalted server global channel, that's fine. There are options. Exalted League is one of 'em, and I hope people give it a chance and try it out. I intend on making it a hub of Exalted server activity, and as friendly and welcoming as possible.I'm looking to join one of these channels as I move my Corruptor into incarnate content.
What I'm not sure about is why the new channel? Someone here actually mentions in the main channel thread that yes, too many channels water down the content.
So this is a new channel because?
Don't get me wrong, I'm just wondering if something happened, or is wrong with the other task force/trial channel?
The channel sounds cool... I want to join one of them.... about the silent mode thing I hope you guys make it easy enough to find out, or announce events frequently. (That is to say in silent mode I can't ask: "Hey is anyone running a Lady grey tf?")
As stated in the original post, the channel operators will routinely go through the channel membership list and un-silence and welcome newcomers. If you should find yourself waiting a while to become un-silenced, send a global tell to @Celestial Lord, @Cherry Cupcakes, @James Donner, or @WickedWendy. -

Quote:Yes, that's why there's only one Green Lantern, one Hulk, and one Flash. Oops, somebody better tell Guy, John, and Wally.Right, because in comic books, lots of superheroes run around with the same names. It's not like choosing a unique superhero title is one of the biggest and most iconic superhero traditions in comic books. You know, gaining fame as a costumed hero, secret identity and all that.

NCSoft has initiated mass layoffs at their North American offices.
Quote:Here's hoping everyone at Paragon Studios is still safely employed.Earlier this morning Massively received an anonymous tip that NCsoft terminated an undisclosed number of employees at its Austin, Brighton, and Seattle offices earlier this month. According to our tipster, "many operations jobs are leaving Austin and being contracted back to Seoul," and there were further layoffs in the quality assurance and billing departments, with "with many more put on 60-day notice." -
I am proud to announce a new public Exalted server global channel, Exalted League!
Exalted League is a semi-social channel for Exalted server players to congregate and form or find teams, Task / Strike Forces, trials, raids, and events. Casual discussion is welcome, as long as it is kept to PG-13 in nature and does not overwhelm the channel and / or prevent the channel from serving its primary function of enabling Exalted server players to form or find teams.
To join, type in your chat box:
/chan_join "Exalted League"
While Exalted League is a public channel, all new members are auto-silenced by default to prevent spam and such. Our channel operators will periodically review the channel members list and un-silence newcomers.
Exalted League has a web site here.
The channel rules are few, but are as follows:
1. While Exalted League's primary goal is to enable the Exalted server playerbase to form or find teams, Task / Strike Forces, trials, raids, and events, casual discussion is welcome as long as it is kept to PG-13 in nature and does not overwhelm the channel so as to prevent it from fulfilling its primary mission.
2. Advertising, soliciting, or seeking farms or PLing is not allowed.
3. Advertising or soliciting for other channels, supergroups, or villaingroups is not allowed.
4. Chat spamming the channel is prohibited.
5. Political and / or religious discussions are prohibited.
6. Disrespecting or harassing other players is not allowed.
Should channel operator intervention become necessary, the offender will receive a verbal warning or silence at the channel operator's discretion.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reply to this post, or contact @All-Star Ele, @Aneko, myself (@Celestial Lord), @Cherry Cupcakes, @James Donner, or @WickedWendy. -
I am still unable to edit any costumes on my Dual Pistols / Dark Miasma / Mace Mastery Corruptor. I noticed that the mace no longer displays at all under the Weapons category, like it used to. I can edit everything else, but no edits save when I come out of the costume editor.

Just a reminder that I will lead two back-to-back Rikti mothership raids tomorrow at 8:30 P.M. ET / 5:30 P.M. in the Rikti War Zone. Hope to see y'all there!
