You do realize it was Statesman and not Positron who you were responding to?

What? Devs don't get to RP? Common, give Castle a little creative leeway in at least come up with something witty. I am pretty certain the conversation would still berate the devs if he came out and said: 'cause we wanted to make him more challenging'.

Well I see the idea but I think it's just F-in' lazy of the Devs not explain why he can now hit you though PS.
I think a better fix would've been to just make him ignor anything that's PSed. PAs included. That would solve the tanking prob.

He's a living organism; he adapted to his environment.

No offense intended, Mr. Castle Sir, but...
... are you suggesting that Hami evolved by natural selection? Or adapted within a single generation, mutating himself to be a more effective challenge in a hero/predator infested world? That's a little implausible, but I guess not much more so than the idea of a giant one-celled organism that shoots blasts of electrolytes at people.
[/ QUOTE ]
No more implausible than evolution in general.Just think of Hami as the Hopeful Monster who did.

Nice work, Suckerpunch! I always enjoy plotting my characters via your web planner at www.cohplanner.com!

Give him a new forum title since we can't 5 Star him. -
Hey, you know you could combine all the flavors into one .gif avatar. Put a couple second delay between changes and show off the work that way.

I can say that open beta for Exteel has not yet begun nor have the invites been sent out for it yet. We're going to post something for the public (on the website) as soon as we have some specifics to provide.
Exteel is currently under an NDA (which has nothing to do with the OB delay, btw) so please remember that is all I can say to those who were not Exteel closed beta testers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Say, how about the Tabula Rasa Beta?
Since you are on the topic of other betas. -
Well... what certainly explains why, when I logged back in after having left my character AFK in Pocket D to get Ice Cream for my kids I awoke defeated.

I suppose the qualifying factor is this!
Resource allocation.
Would the subscribing consumer base prefer NCsoft/Cryptic to allocate resources to publications that are often outdated due to upgrades within a very short time period.
Or would they rather have new content, bug fixes, game features.
That's the deciding factor.

No, for two reasons:
1 - the reason you state above: Developer time is best spent developing the game.
2 - the Community will make their own guides anyways. The only advantage a Dev guide would have would be from giving us base numbers. -
Well, to put it more simply: it takes longer to write a book than to read it.

I walk my bike across Colorado now; I tremble to much to otherwise ride it. -
Hey, I know which unnamed, unfinished MMO you are talking about.
Tried it out for 15 minutes and knew at once I was not going to like it, despite my love for the books (movies are unrelated except for name and general plot similarities
). It seemed, apart from the books and graphics differences, too similar to a rather popular Fantasy MMO.
CoH is the only MMO I have played straight (excepting two odd billing lapses) since release. I've tried some others but aside from one being neurotically addicting and another being neigh impossible to enjoy if you were not in a team or a guild (it's LFG function just is lacking) the others were 'eh, ok'. My main disappointment is that people in the gaming club I play in don't play CoH. Ah well... their loss.
By the way, your Ganny is why I avoid Colorado Blvd. -

Issue 10 will focus on a level range that you guys have been clamoring about for a while.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hooray!
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm thinking 35-45 will finally get something.
How convinient that that's more or less the Rikti levels. They start at 30 and kind of fade out at 45-50. I hope it's Rikti, for the scourge that a few years ago were a global threat, they don't get very much exposure right now. Yeah, they have the Crash Site, but who goes there, apart from the 44+ Respec?

I think the 35-40+ range as well. -

I take credit for the mistake, but blame the fact-checker for being sick that day.
I think I can now safely say that I have forgotten more about this game than most will ever know, and I proved it.

I liked the article, course, I didn't see the original incarnation of it since I was at work before the article was reworked, but like others have said, it is a trove of useful information.
So BAB, you going to pop in more often? -

"Exclusives" are all well and good.
Official site first, please. Or just close it and let the other sites do the work.
[/ QUOTE ]
It would not be exclusive to MMORPG.com then if it appeared here firstYes, it would be prefereable to learn it here first than deal with a third party site you can't view from work *cough**cough* but it always makes it way back here. Official notices that the article is appearing with full text provided later on (when the exclusive period is obviously over) would be nice.

Cool.... I would love the opportunity.

And what happens then, after they ban all violent video games, when another school shooting takes place or another sniper shoots people in DC?
What is the excuse for non Video game playing generations?
I remember when there was controversy over Pen and Paper RPGs. Video Games are now the current 'evil' focus since they are so prevalent and parents are naturally concerned that their kids are playing to much. The emotionalism is just obnoxious since causes people to irrationally approach the problem: parental oversight. But that is another failing of the government - trying to be the surrogate mother. -
Gotta love it when people try to play up to people's emotional side to justify themselves.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good time gaming.

Hey guys, our plan is to get you new Issues three times a year. Issue 7 was bigger than originally planned (Mayhem Missions got thrown into the issue at the last possible second) and that, coupled with other delays, screwed up the schedule for 2006, thus only 2 free content expansions on the Live servers this year.
2007 has three Issues planned for it, one near Q1/Q2, one for the summer, and one for the end of the year. I can't give more exact dates than that because everything is subject to change.

Wasn't it supposed to be 4 a year originally? -
wow.... I am amazed that Costumes have come out ahead of the story line (as of the time I posted).
Still... it is important. -

You know, I actually do feel like an old man by now. I've seen and done so many things that the new players haven't even heard of, let alone done. Hydra in Perez Park is a good example, yes. A time before respec, costume alterations, capes, back when Elude was a toggle and Blaster nukes left you end drained AND disoriented
[/ QUOTE ]
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Burning Tanks on fire off the shoulder of Brickstown. I watched Smoke Grenades glitter in the dark near the Crey's Folly gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Nice use of one of the great quotes from Blade Runner.

It COULD be Blade Runner - or it could be www.thenoobcomic.com

It is a take off of BladeRunner... either way you cut it.
I recall the mass pulls in Perez Park to the gates. Seeing multiple spawns of Hellions, CoT, Hydra, Vahz, and Skulls rushing the gates was awe inspiring. The Police bots could not keep up and the Heroes fought and lost dearly.
