How could you possibly exploit this!?
[/ QUOTE ]
Only way I can think of involves the Paid-for expansion packs.
I'd assume that if an account without them tries to load a Saved Cossie with them it defaults the sections to the Standard ones though, it'd be silly otherwise.
Since the system isn't live there's no reason to be cryptic about it PRAF. may as well explain your thoughts. -

Some good names there!

Psyclone, a psi/storm fender
[/ QUOTE ]
Yikes - that could get confusing if ever we team and I'm on Psychelone, my mind/storm troller.
Apparently it's not only great minds that think alike...
[/ QUOTE ]
Given that we've both made characters inspired by awful puns on awful Keanu Reeves movies, yes, you are correct. The "great" would appear to be superfluous -
[ QUOTE ]
afaik repel and KB are different.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh I know that.
The OP in the US server didn'tI just copy-and-pasted their post over here for discussion.
Reading through it again it seems Shield toons will be a bit of a force multiplier with their "Allies grant extra defense" power & "Grant Allies extra defense" power coupled with their "extra enemies grant a damage bonus" power.
-
Oh praise the lord!!
Great for copying across "baseline" versions of one cossie into another slot for customising. -
Again nicked from the Open bit of the closed beta (ie the Character Creation screens on US Test).
[ QUOTE ]
Deflection: Your mastery of the shield allows you to easily deflect melee attacks, and attacks that do get through your iron clad defenses tend to do less damage. While Active Defense is active the user will gain defense to Melee attacks and some minor resistance to lethal and smashing damage. Recharge: Fast
Battle Agility: Your incredible reflexes allows you to position your shield to deflect incoming ranged damage. While deflection is active you will benefit from increased ranged and aoe defense as well as some moderate protection from Defense debuffs. Recharge: Fast.
Phalanx Fighting (Woo!) Fighting near your allies allows you to deflect attacks much easier. You will gain a small bonus to your melee, ranged and area of effect defense this bonus grows for each ally near you. This power is always on and costs no endurance.
-Feedback, punctuation missing between defense and this bonus.
Active Defense: When you activate this power it grants you protection from Sleep, Disorient, Fear, Immobilize, Confusion, Repel, Knockback, Hold and Defense Debuff effects for a short duration. Recharge: Very long
Feedback: ...isnt repel and KB the same thing?
Against All Odds: The harder pressed you are in combat the greater your offensive abilities become. Each enemy that stands toe to toe with you in combat will grant you a damage bonus. THe first foe you engage in melee grants the highest damage bonus, and up to 10 foes can contribute to this effect. Each foe in melee also suffer from reduced damage as your sheild deflects a portion of their damage. Recharge: Slow
Grant Cover: You are able to use your sheild to defend nearby allies. Any teammates who remain nearby gain a bonus to their defense. (NOTE: The defense bonus from this power is only applied to nearby team mates, but not yourself.) Recharge slow
-Feedback, is it teammates or team mates?
Sheild Charge: You can throw all of your might behind your sheild and charge through ranks of foes in the blink of an eye. Using this power allows you to teleport to a selected area to deal significant smashing damage to all foes in a long cone in front of you, most foes that are struck by your sheild charge will be knocked down. Damage: Superior Recharge: Very Long
True Grit: Your intense training has left you tougher than even the hardiest of heroes. You gain additional hit points and resistance to fire, cold, energy, negative energy, and toxic damage sources. THis power is always on and costs no endurance.
One witht he shield. When you activate this power, you gain strong resistance against most types of damage and also to Disorient, Immobilization, Hold, Knockback, Repel and Sleep effects. One with the Sheild costs little endurance to activate and increases your recovery and maximum hit points for its duration, but when it wears off you are left exhausted, and substantially drained of endurance. Note:That One with the Shield is unaffected by Attack Rate changes. Recharge:Very long

Taken from PlasmaStreams post from the Character Creation screen (which any US player can see on Test, so not subject to the Closed Beta NDA)

Nullify Pain - Nullify Pain will heal nearby Allies for some hit points by numbing the pain caused by their wounds. Nullify pain is not as potent as Sooth, but can heal multiple targets at once. Recharge Moderate
Soothe: You heal an ally by numbing their pain and calming their mind. You cannot use this power on your self.
Share Pain: Share pain draws away some of an allys anguish caused by their wounds, but damages the user. The pain caused by this power causes the user to go into a frenzy, briefly increasnig their damage output.
Conduit of Pain: You revive a fallen ally by becoming a conduit of pain and transferring the pain that was inflicted upon them back upon your enemies. THis will briefly empower you increasing your damage output, recovery rate, attack rate and chance to hit. After a minute the effect will wear off leaving you weakened for 30 seconds. Your damage, attack rate and chance to hit will all be reduced during this period. Recharge Very long
Enforced Morale: Frees and ally from any disorient hold, sleep, fear, confuse and immobilize effects and leaves them resistant to such effects for a good while. Also, grants the target clearer perception to see hidden foes and minor recharge and movement speed boost. Protection and Movement boost will improve with multiple applications and as you advance in level, although the recharge and movement boost will only apply for the first few applications. If the ally is not damaged, Enforce moral will cause them some......
Soothing Aura: While this power is active all nearby allies will be healed by Soothing Aura every couple of seconds for a small portion of their health.
World of Pain: When this power is activated the user and all nearby team members will gain a moderate damage, resistance and to hit bonus. Additionally those affected by this power will have their resistance to placate effects improved.
Anguishing Cry: You let out an Anguishing Cry causing a great deal of pain in your foes reducing their resistance and defense to damage for a short time.
Painbringer: You transform an ally to pain incarnate turning them into an inexhaustible killing machien. While the character is imbued with this power they will benefit from incredible health regeneration, endurance recovery and improved damage potential for a short time.

I rarely ask for buffs, but I do mourn when I don't get them but am gasping for them (for example when all my End runs out and the Kin hasn't SBed me). At that point I probably would say something alluding to my SB addiction, or the next time is is applied be extra gushing about how much I love it.
On my Kins the ropey framerate & trying to play at high speeds is what stopped me playing them, it was just too frantic, didn't notice / care about people calling for SB all the time.
My Warshade had a team with a Thermal and an Empathy on it a while back, both excellent buffers. Now that was lovely! -

Hey - just sticking my oar in where its not wanted, but if you can possibly make space for it in your build I'd put wormhole in there. Its just plain fun.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ive definitely considered it - Its one of my considerations for my lvl 49 power!
[/ QUOTE ]
Drop Thunderclap, Wormhole is far, far better imo. For one thing it can stun Lieuts. Plus its a ranged power you can cast out of line of sight (in fact you always should).
Wormhole into a corner > Crushing Field > Hurricane em, nothing is getting out of there. Then you can open up your Freezing Rain > Lightning Storm > Epic AOE Blast (whichever you decide on).
For soloing / small teams Wormhole is one of the best AOE mezzes around as far as I'm concerned. It's a fantastic tactical power and great fun. -

Loving the new Police Utility Belt. I don't think there's a single hero should be without their trusty gadget belt (if you want a quote from DW: I may be able to access phenomenal cosmic power and be in tune with the universe. But if push comes to shove, a beanbag round ain't sparkly but gets the job done.)
[/ QUOTE ]
There's quite a few that have too though, due to the annoying limitation of not being able to have a belt AND a tail...

Serves ye right for being Catgirls
The new cossies are nice, they will suit both my Masterminds, they seem to step on the Male wedding packs toes a bit though. Although I'm not complaining, I didn't buy it and have been hoping for more suit combos.
The Talsorian shield is pretty nifty as well. The rest, didn't care anyway, I'm not going to be playing a Shield anything any time soon. -

I logged on for a few minutes 8am this morning and was immediatly asked to join a team. Unfortunatly I had to go to work.
Maybe people are playing at the wrong time of day?

I logged on at 10:20 last night : Union Villains. 15 people on in my 35-45 level range.
Disheartening.

There were 11 people in Atlas on Defiant last night at about 04:00 Euro time - and 3 of then had no vet badges
[/ QUOTE ]
Atlas is a player hub. There's always someone there. 11 people in the busiest zone in the game, at any time, is pretty dire IMO. -
Psy Tornado isn't a pet like Tornado, its actually an AOE blast with a Knockup effect like Lift. In fact its basically an AOE lift with a swirly pink tornado projectile.
So it'd be pretty good for you, if you Crushing Field a bunch and Psy Tornado them you'll do Containment damage and they'll still be knocked up into the sky.
I don't like Power Boost with Storm really, there's not that much to be gained from it. And Power Boosts single target blast is dreadful.
Because of the synergy between Crushing Field, Freezing Rain and Psy Tornado as a one-two-three I'd probably go Psi.
After that I'd probably go with Earth, oddly enough. Fissure is a cool looking attack, again with some knockup and a chance to stun, available from 41. The Armour is defense based which for my money is better on a squishy and you get a Heal / HP boosting power at 47 which you currently don't have (although its slow enough to recharge so its not going to be your perma-healing power). -

*sighs and orders a Cray supercomputer.

I thought you had a super-powerful machine? There was a post about it yesterday (and didn't you mean Crey)
The engine in Crysis Warhead is a bit more optimised apparently so its getting better than it was. -

No!
With the exception of the Port Oakes broker. You only have to see him once for each zone. When you go to do the bankjob you dont need him to get the newspapaer missions after all. Is it that much to ask for to visit an NPC once? So I say no. Every contact has the right to be visisted at least once. If only to check you out in person.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree, you should visit them at least once.
The problem is that often you've to see them more than once, to open up new contacts, or refuse a Bank Mission the second / third / fourth / ad nauseum time so you can continue with Paper missions. Its all those extra visits which get old very fast. As well as the fact when you finish a Bank Mission you've to visit them again to complete it.
Especially in PI with that idiotic indoors Detective -

Maybe it's just an export bug but the slotting order looks very wrong (pre L21 slots in the Dwarf form powers?).
[/ QUOTE ]
You don't know about the respec bug?
You can put slots into thr Nova and Dwarf powers before you actually get the form powers in a respec. Handy way to spend those early slots -
To quote Futurama : "Thank you mysterious heroes. The value of the Gemerald you saved is slightly greater than the cost of the damage you caused to this museum. A net gain for our great city!"

^yeah but it debuffs (slow and -def)
[/ QUOTE ]
And, most importantly, -Resist. The -Resist is the big hitter.
If you do SoC > Roots > Freezing Rain don't snow storm them. You want them hitting each other as much as possible (Freezing Rain does slow them down a bit but is counterbalanced by the increased hit rate and damage they'll do to each other). -
There's lots of quality of life features the AH could do with, stupid thing is clunky beyond belief.
Planning and finding things is unnecessarily hard, the filter system is inadequete and as you guys say its hard to believe that in this day of Hyperlinks and d'internet that they didn't make Salvage Requirements listed in a recipe link to the Salvage AH listing so you can easily bid on them. Instead you've to remember the requirements (hard for goldfish brain), use the stupid filter system and find them manually.
Even tiny things like how if you're selling more than one thing once you choose the quantity the Price box doesn't have cursor focus (so you've to click in there with the mouse) show a lack of final polish. -

The problem is that the game is too dim to remember when you placed slots (hence why we have the Exemping system weakening Enhancement values, it's because it doesn't know which slots to switch off when you drop levels).
So validating a build is impossible if you let people tweak their current build, the only way they can ensure a build is valid is if they force you to redo it from scratch.
And yes, it is a complete pain. I respec a fair bit and its annoying when you're just tweaking a few things (or selling off all your SOs at cost) -
For me the clunkiness of the system, especially in regard to Server Transfers, highlights how poor NCNC are at designing some interfaces.
It'd be logical for an automatic check and warning as part of the Transfer process too. But no, you have to do it manually before you transfer or you just get renamed. -
And FFMs repost (and the one I was working on) is gone too.
Why bother! -

John Constant Whine - Sonic defender. Had to do this as I'd just got trenchcoats, I'd never had a sonic and it had to be better than the film constantine. Now where the heck is the chain smoking emote????
