The problem is that the game is too dim to remember when you placed slots (hence why we have the Exemping system weakening Enhancement values, it's because it doesn't know which slots to switch off when you drop levels).
So validating a build is impossible if you let people tweak their current build, the only way they can ensure a build is valid is if they force you to redo it from scratch.
And yes, it is a complete pain. I respec a fair bit and its annoying when you're just tweaking a few things (or selling off all your SOs at cost)
I would like to see a new respec system as well, with IOs now in the game only beeing able to save 10 of them is just not cutting the mustard it was fine when we were stuck with SOs but with the cost of some of the IOs out there i think its time to change it so all IOs can be saved if you want to.
This would save having to use a few respecs when moving your expensive sets around toons.
what about a respec that doesn't reset your AT, but just makes you able to re-choose a power for the cost of another.(within your lvl ofcouse)

FWIW that strikes me as a bit too small of a change to be worth a special respec type.
Maybe 3 levels:
* Full respec - rechoose powers, slotting and enh placement, just like it is now
* Slot respec - powers stay as they were, but slotting and enh placement starts over
* Enh respec - powers and slots stay as they were, enhs need replacing
Rather than 3 different types of respec this might be implemented as each one using a respec but you getting to choose which of the current 3 screens you start the process at.
It'd be nice if the 3rd, enh placement, screen could have access to the Auction House window too, so you can put lots of IOs straight out to auction if you wanted to make wholesale changes. Of course, if you didn't want to actually sell the IOs you could stick them in the AH from the enh screen without setting a price, then pick them up later for carrying to base storage, passing to alts, whatever...

The prices on IO sets are so ludicrously high, this is just common sense to avoid a lot of really angry gamers.

Hi everyone this may have been mentioned before, if so sorry I haven't seen it. Been playing the game for over three years now and still love most things about it but in all that time I think I've only ever respec'd two toons, Why? because I hate going through a full respec just to change one power or move a couple of slots. Surely it must be possible to make the respec system so you can just move the odd power in/out or change what lvl you took it without doing it all from the start, same with slots (as in Mid's Hero Designer) Just an idea, what does everybody else think?
