I've soloed AVs with my Illusion/TA controller.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sure, but have you with a TA defender? I've heard of Rad/Sonics doing it but never a TA/Anything defender. Illusion is excellent at handling AVs for obvious reasons.

I'd agree with Toy that Rad is overrated, people seem to think its the only debuff set, but plenty of other sets do as well or nearly as well as it, but I wouldn't count TA as one of them at the mo.

*Edit : That said I'd only add a few tweaks to TA and I'd be happy. Let Acid Arrow stack for one, and add some (say 100-200) -regen into PGA or Disruption Arrow.

I do find any of the other debuff sets I've played are more fun than Rad.

Edit: Yes there are some underpowered sets (/NRG for Brutes apparently...) but often the case that each set just isn't as easy to play as one other set...Trick Archery for example is apparently underpowered but it has loads of tricks which match upto Radiation Emission, it has -regen, -res, -to hit, -rech, basically every trick Rad can pull so can Trick Archery, it's just got a bit of a crappy rep from aeons past.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not the best example in the world, TAs -regen, -tohit and -recharge aren't anywhere near Rads, especially the -regen and -tohit. Even its -resistance requires 2 powers to match up to what Rad can do in one. Plus TA has no heal or wonderful buff.

Of course TA does bring damage & a bit more control. But it could do with a few tweaks to powers to make it more desirable, especially vs AVs.

    Logging out

What if you just made it a slash command only so people didn't mistakenly click on it in a menu system? Then newer people wouldn't mistake it for a proper log out.
  4. Can you paste them (Control+v) from the clipboard?
  5. [ QUOTE ]
I'm not so sure that would work with the recharge time in account, unless there's a discrepancy between time taken to complete the attack chain and the time to recharge.
If everything is recharged ready to use it again when the chain reaches it then the only time factor to account for is the cumulative animation time.
Then all you need is Total Damage of one cycle / Total Animation Time.

The old Hero builder tool had an attack chain calculator covering everything down to endurance used. Great for testing the End consumption of my Bs/Sr build before doing a respec.

Hitting "No" on the blind invite could drop my teleporting toon into a spawn that will wipe them out.

Even worse to me one day last week, the damn pop-up appeared over the nasty lieut my WS was trying to target to mez them. Almost very messy indeed...

    Welldone, Fahie.

Of course that wasn't what i had in mind at first i read your original post but congrats.

I wonder how far a even level team go on a Double XP weekend, all beginning from level 1 and doing regular missions instead of sticking to one map. Maybe i will try to organize something like that on next double xp whenever it will be.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's what I thought ye were doing too, a 1-50 team over the weekend.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That would have taken a bit longer methinks :S

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yes indeedy. It'd be a case of hooking coffee into an IV drip and getting a catheter fitted the other end I reckon.

Restarts the "Make Dark Astoria a Warzone" campaign.

Banished and Tsoo and Thorns, oh my.

Given things like how long the half-built launch sites have been ingame with no follow-on development, how long the storm has been in coming, how long the new forums & the web-based Character Vault have been in limbo etc I wouldn't be holding my breath.

  10. Damage of the attack / (Recharge Time + Animation Time) = dps

For a chain I think you just chain them together (assuming obviously that you're queueing attacks up so they fire off seamlessly).

    So a chain of Attack 1 -> Attack 2 -> Attack 1 -> Attack 3

    would be

    (Damage 1 + Damage 2 + Damage 1 + Damage 3) / (Recharge 1 + Animation 1) + (Recharge 2 + Animation 2) + (Recharge 1 + Animation 1) + (Recharge 3 + Animation 3)

I think Mids has an Attack Chain thingy within its depths somewhere though too so it'll do the work for you.

    Logging out

    Seems annoyingly irritating to me.

If you're too dim not to realise when you've logged off properly and when you've just returned to the character selection screen you're probably too stupid to be using computers at all IMO.

Raymond Keyes is almost solely responsible for the reformation of the Freedom Phalanx in the 1980s. Without him, Lord Recluse would be running Paragon right now, Sister Psyche would be dead, and Statesman would be living in the Antarctic. I think Posi deserves to be allowed to go wherever he wants.

I may hate his TF, but Posi himself is an awesome guy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Plus The Dark Watcher fixed him anyway. After all those years sitting in Steel worrying if he'd nuke and wipe out the financial district all it took was a level 6 defender power to turn him into a real boy...

If they implant Whips i doubt it will be a controller set tho. Even controllers are dying for a new set, Whips sounds more like a end light, fast, low damage and ranged scrapper set.

For a natural controller set i guess it will be some sort of extended version of Devices blaster secondary.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    So Traps then?

Would that not be Tech origin though?

Repost, or click report to moderator and let GR move it.

It has been suggested before, but I wouldn't be as optomistic as Archy about seeing it any time soon. The animations would be very tricky to do within the game engine.

There is a gap for a "Natural" control set.

    Mission levels

To be honest I spent most of my time with my WS asploding outdoor mobs and ignoring the missions. They aren't much fun for a soloing lowbie WS. Anyway post-level 12 its more fun to Mire & Blast nicely grouped mobs outdoors I find.

I have had issues with other characters getting things like pairs of +1 lieuts on Heroic though, a Corrupter I play had basically the same problems.

I think they should be replaced with the new-style "Contact X in zone Y would like to see you" popups, like those presented in respect of Montague Castanella.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I also like this idea but I don't think it will be a high priority as it only takes a minute or two to run to the new contact and back.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not when you're level 5 doing Galaxy missions and the creeps send you to the Hollows to talk to Wincott

    Noooooooooooooo!

There's also that stupid Abandoned Sewers run, that's the worst IMO, simply because its certain death for most people soloing.

BTW: Why on dxp do more teams seem to think that upping the rep and picking missions that are +4/5 to most of the team is the way to maximise xp flow? Number of teams (and of longtime vets) that seemed to do this and xp suddenly slowed from a torrent to a trickle interspersed by Hospital trips...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, that's really quite irritating. Enemies that are +2/+3 are quite enough for a DXP weekend considering you'll be pretty much just running through entire armies of them non-stop. I think it's better that way at all times, it's just plain boring when you have to stand there sizing up each and every spawn until someone just Leeroys in.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Last night they were Whites and Yellows on the team I joined. For a Warshade that's just XP heaven. Steamroller em and see if you can leg it to another group before the Mire expires.

Personally I won't fight more than +2s/+3s for long anyway. I hate my lovely powers getting reduced to peashooter levels by excessive purpling of mobs. That said at one point on Friday my mentor was AFK for a bit, so I was 6 or 7 levels below the Mob levels (but still within 5 of the average team level) and the XP I earned was ridiculous. I did feel useless though : "Dark Quasar blasts a Freakshow for 10 damage. Freakshow is now laughing".
  18. [ QUOTE ]

It's to do with being unable to detoggle when powers are queued, so can't drop out of forms until your power queue is cleared. Stops you double miring or double footstomp, and tends to slow down fast shifting in combat, but it's not TOO bad.

    [/ QUOTE ]
It's slightly annoying alright, but I rejigged my keybinds slightly to deal with it so specific keys always mean "Shift into this form and change the active power bar", so if it does happen pressing the key again generally fixes it. Oddly it seems to affect me when I'm in Nova form and dropping out for a Hold & Stygian Circle combo than when I'm in Dwarf.

The changes to Human form damage and how quickly Dwarf Mire recharges now make double mired nukes & Unchained Essences so much fun now.

I slightly miss my 30 seconds of double-mired Nova goodness but Dwarf is so much more fun now it's more than compensation. It's not like Nova forms damage is weak or anything.

And I got Eclipse over the weekend. Good god, its unholy. Eclipse + Inherent bonuses from team in Nova form FTW!!
  19. I was on just on Friday afternoon, was down the country for the rest of the weekend, where d'interweb is a sign of witchcraft.

Still got my WS from 37 to 42.9 in an SG team, which was nice, by the end I didn't even know what level I was anymore, levelled once to 41 and ran off to by enhancements and it was only afterwards I noticed the green level up arrow was still on my character. Apparently I'd dinged twice in a Freaks mission.

So now I've Eclipse and Unchain Essence slotted up and still have 7-8 more levels to play with them.

Poor old Art of War will be putting up with me from this evening onward (the poor fools. Mwhahahahaha).

    Ta for all the responses!
  22. The installer is ftp://client.coh.com/EU/MAC_CoH_Installer_EU.dmg I think.

Try using Firefox or Opera to get them, my (Linux) version of Opera here has no issues with them

teleporting around buildings is kinda silly

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's handy to be able to see where you're teleporting to though. Materialising inside a solid concrete wall because you misjudged the width of the building in front of you could prove a bit awkward.

Not to mention TPing mid-building and ending up in the ladies loo.

Unless that was what you were planning of course

Pocket D pretty much *is* that, minus a few things. I think, if this would be followed up, it would go there.

If it had a Wentworths and a crafting table it'd be my second home too, much easier to get to than Steel.

Not sure about the theme park bit though.
  25. Oh I've been playing on Union for about a year at least, generally on PuGs.

I just realized yesterday I'd lots of characters with no SGs so decided to do something about it. It's nice having semi-regular teammates about as well, rather than playing PuG lottery.
