How to calculate the DPS of a chain?

Mids shows numbers such as 100 or 300 but I don't see a ralation to the numbers I see some people speaking of, such as a AV's regen needing a DPS of 120 to be defeated (if I recall correctly).

Anyone happens to know how to calculate the DPS of an attack?

Damage of the attack / (Recharge Time + Animation Time) = dps

For a chain I think you just chain them together (assuming obviously that you're queueing attacks up so they fire off seamlessly).

So a chain of Attack 1 -> Attack 2 -> Attack 1 -> Attack 3

would be

(Damage 1 + Damage 2 + Damage 1 + Damage 3) / (Recharge 1 + Animation 1) + (Recharge 2 + Animation 2) + (Recharge 1 + Animation 1) + (Recharge 3 + Animation 3)

I think Mids has an Attack Chain thingy within its depths somewhere though too so it'll do the work for you.

I'm not so sure that would work with the recharge time in account, unless there's a discrepancy between time taken to complete the attack chain and the time to recharge.
If everything is recharged ready to use it again when the chain reaches it then the only time factor to account for is the cumulative animation time.
Then all you need is Total Damage of one cycle / Total Animation Time.

The old Hero builder tool had an attack chain calculator covering everything down to endurance used. Great for testing the End consumption of my Bs/Sr build before doing a respec.

I think it's important to know. The attack chain has a greater EPS than toggles but you always see builds with low costing toggles and high costing attack chains. The reasoning behind making the toggles less to squeeze out 3 more attacks to the endurance bar instead of making the attacks do less to squeeze out 3 more attack chains to the endurance bar include having more burst and having more end recovery between fights.

Mids can in a way help you see the average EPS of a build during the fight duration from looking at all the EPS bars, adding what stacks but its hard for it to truly tell or help most people see the whole story as there is no damage per activation bar or endurance per activation bar etc.

You can modify Sherksilvers builder to suit what your build does but its time consuming.

There's a huge post about this in the soloing pylons post on the US boards.

I think there is also one purely to do with DPS calcs

I'll find a link.
