  1. Mes does set up Containment though and stops them in their tracks, at least until you clobber them with something.

Speaking of clobber. Dom, Air Superiority is a nice combo. RI lets you melee fairly safely with Air Sup and you can do Dom > Air sup chains early on for some decent damage, taking care of any others with Confuse, RI & Mes sleeps as you do so.

*Edit : Had my chain backwards. RI, Confuse & Sleep the extra guys. hold and clobber the active target is a much more sensible way to go about things.
  2. You need to get Radiation Infection from Rad as early as possible. Its an Accuracy debuff & a defense debuff.

So it protects you (really well) and, more importantly, means your holds hit more often. Its the best power in the set, especially combines well with Choking Cloud. Personally I'd take it instead of Mass Hypnosis as AOE sleeps are only really useful when soloing (and RI is better for soloing IMO). 5-6 slots, 3 acc debuff, 2 defense debuff.

I never bother with Rezzes like Mutation. Chances are there'll be a Empath along in big teams anyway. I'd take Enverating Field instead to increase your damage.

No Telekinesis either? I'd drop the TP pool for Telekinesis. Recall Friend is fine for getting people to the mission door and useless / marginal after that.

Haste may be of use too to get Total Dom. Mass Confuse & Terrify recharged quickly.
  3. Agree completely with Laustin. Kin / elec is a load of fun.

Once you get Transference you can slow slowly but steadily. You tend to grind them down as they stand there looking at you with no End but you get there. Fulcrum might help with this (don't have it yet, darned Altitis).

In teams you will be worshipped as a demigod. My fav thing to see in a team is a Kinetics Defender, regardless of who I'm playing.

The other great thing about Kin / Elec is the build flexibility. You can forego stamina & a travel pool power if you like and mess about with other powers. You should get Haste though, just for the stacked +recharge you can get going with Siphon Speed. Which you get at level 6. The Hollows was never so much fun to get around!
  4. Well no, if you send a henchie like my Grave Knights in using this method they'll switch to melee sooner than if you just tell them to attack. Its not perfect but its a little better than them standing at range using their silly dark blasts.
  5. I do it using ctrl+click, closest I can get to "Stand beside him and clobber him"

/bind lctrl+lmouse "petcomname Grey GoTo Aggressive"

To make my Zombie, Mr Grey go to a spot in aggressive mode. Just hold left control and click and off he toddles.

I use "Grey" as the unique bit of his name. Just replace it with whatever you want and any henchie name matching the unique bit will do it.

    Ice/TA

Yes Flash is like Smoke. 5% accuracy debuff. Personally I just avoided the Hollows completely.

I think Disruption Arrow stacks with itself as its a Placeable. Acid & Flash shouldn't since they are direct target attacks.

Net is pretty handy in the early game for keeping mobs away from your delicate self. Handy for Containment too.

For Ice I reckon another attack might be needed in the early levels (I found this with Fire). Air Sup is good but TA doesn't have the melee survivablity of other secondaries. The single target immob might be worth getting early to respec out in the 20s. You can then Net & Block of Ice one mob and Ice Arrow & Chilblain the second.
  7. Tornado can use -def & disorientate duration enhances too. The -def would be nice for PvP for dealing with pesky SRs.

On the End thing, my (admittedly PvE) build finds Hibernate from Ice Mastery great for getting the blue back in-fight. Because you've so many droppable pets you can dump them, Hib for 10 seconds to recover End and they'll still be blasting, fearing and debuffing away.
  8. I think Fear makes them slightly more likely to scatter when injured. But mobs do that anyway and as the chaps say theres lots of ways to stop them.

Scattering is looked upon as a bad thing by a lot of people, for good reasons sometimes, but its a handy control if done right (ie if you "tame" it with slows & holds).
  9. Malta and those knife wielding psycho ladies they hang with.
Those weird yolks hanging around the Half Life Zones, erm I mean Shadow Shards.

Still, there is more Psi flying around in the 40s than any other time in the game.
  10. I've gotten one of these to 25 with the same idea, no stamina & no travel powers except for Siphon and IR at 28

Painful beyond belief. Especially when you hit 20 and are dumped in Sharks.

You can get away with it via the Mayhem travel powers / temp jetpacks. I got the Skyraiders Jetpack
at 22 and its saved me lots of grief. Still a bit painful to do though.

The End was such an issue I had to get Stamina in the 20s after all.

I'd agree with everyone else about Dark Pit and Life Drain after having them. Dump them, get stamina instead.

At 35 you might be able to respec it back out again if you like but the 15 levels between 20 & 35 are painful without Stamina.
  11. Happy Birthday Quantrail.

    Have a good one.
  12. Woah, the rest of her gallery is superb too. I like the polaroid version of Jakey too.

    Class stuff
  13. Nah, I just channel the spirits.

    Hellowie!

Well, Trick Arrow was my second option, if people didn't recommend Force Field. Or just go back to Gravity Control - Storm Summoning. But I fancieda little change

    Thanks for the advice, everyone,

    The Rot Hood.

Well if you're bored with Grav Rot I reckon Illusion is TAs spiritual soulmate. PAs mean no Accuracy Debuff becomes irrelevant and you'd have 3 single target "stop them attacking me" moves in Blind, Deceive & Ice Arrow. Plus Illusion has 3 big Fire and forget moves, you can then switch to the arrows for debuff goodness & the PAs, Spectral Terror & Phantasm will work away.

Make sure you make a Magic or Tech TA though unless you're Fire primary.
  15. Well I know Animal Mutha was getting use out of stacking fire cages, and stacking mezzing DoTs can throw out huge damage. I just found it wasn't worth it once I got past level 10 or so really, End was too tight. But it is annoying just having one attack. Kinetics is a busy set though so you should have something to do. Siphon Power is a bit of an End eater too actually. Although it does give a nice return for it.

Maybe 1 acc & 2 End Red SOs might help you out a bit too with Firecages, along with an SO in Hotfeet?

Carni that may well have been Me(Misstrix), Professor Radburn, and Remake. We were the first online yesterday evening and decided to have a little fun while waiting for others to log.

Twas indeed the three of you. Nabbing all my Council spawns! (nah, not really. They were too tough for me solo. I was picking on small bunches of Outcasts).

Phew. So I'm not stalking Pious so. Thats a relief.
  17. Just started a Grav / TA and it solos pretty well, better at the low levels than my Illusion / Storm did.

TA makes up for Gravs lack of control. You can hold 2 and immob 2 minions pretty happily and pick them off with Propel then. Or stack the TA & Grav powers (hold, immob one, immob, hold the second) for lots of Containment goodness.

Lack of a heal is prob the worst thing about it. Especially considering the lack of a good heavy accuracy debuff or shields to protect yourself.
  18. Last time I went into Sirens with my Necro I got creamed altogether. A Grav Controller with a well slotted Wormhole and a Spines scrapper made mincemeat of me as soon as I poked my head over the parapet of the base. Over and over again

Do any of the Leadership powers offer resistance to TP at all?
  19. Pious, maybe I am stalking you lot. Was soloing in Steel yesterday, up by the train station with my little green grav/ta and what do I see run past me?

3 flamey radiation folk splatting spawns

So subconciously it does look I'm stalking you after all. I'll try to make it stop.
  20. Nope, it doesn't. Running & Recharge are all it affects.

In answer to the OP, stop spamming Fire Cages. It eats end, worse than Hotfeet. You should only be using Fire Cages once to immob / contain and then focus on single target attacks while Hotfeet burns the rest away. The damage of Fire Cages probably isn't worth the downtime you are forcing on your self afterwards. I had Hotfeet 3 damage slotted up until the 30s with no issues as I only use Firecages at the start of combat.

It's one of the reasons I think Fires should take one of the Pool attacks at low levels, to give themselves something to do in between holds as Hotfeet burns them away
  21. It's written in l33t PvP I think.

I'll channel the spirits and translate :
There was quite a splendid Necro / Dark MM in Bloody bay yesterday evening. We had a wizard time duking it out and he was awfully difficult to beat. He took down three of us valiant heroes on his own before we could best him. So i think he could be rated quite the PvP player. I wouldn't imagine he could defeat a Granite tank though. My oh my those chaps are tough.
  22. Cuppa is right here. Sleeps are interrupted by any following damage. So the sleeps will never stack.

A hold > Sleep > Hold pattern should hold them though. But following with another sleep makes no difference.

Mass Hyp > Mes should lock down a boss too I think.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
I tried to attack a death mage (35, my char is 32) with Mesmerise / domination combo, I didn't seem him get held, but his nearby lieutenant killed me before I could say for sure, and I couldn't find any more bosses nearby to test it on safely. That does seem to suggest that the domination and/or the damage from it and/or the damage from subsequent mesmerises resets the magnitude of the sleep, even if the holds are still active.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Aren't Death mages bosses? And Mesmerise is a sleep and Domination is a hold, both Mag 3? They need mag 4 for anything to affect them. You'd need to stack two sleeps or two holds on them normally to do that. One of each won't work.
  24. I'm with MaX. Neither.

Get Air Sup or Aid Other / Self or something instead. Or start your Stamina run.
  25. Am I? Hadn't noticed, honest. I stalk most of the forums anyway. Bound to bump into folk wandering around here.

Its Cerbs Tetsuo avatar & all the Fiery Rad talk that brought me here like a moth to a flame.

Ow, ow, ow. It burns. But its sooooo pretty.
