  1. Really belated best wishes.

Or ... have a great New Year.
  2. *ties string to arby*

    Catch you later; take care.
  3. Well I got totally confused this week.

Cancelled Tuesdays run because it was just too close to the hols and I moved the MoSTF to Thursday so I'll reschedule the MoLR.

    Tomorrows MoSTF should be:

    1) me - tank
    2) BB - mm
    3) willow - rad
    4) dak - brute
    5) countess - kin fire
    6) amp - scrapper
    7) vixen healer - emp or rad not sure
    8) waiting for tell back

While it's nice having some regulars in the team, it's always nice when we pick up some new people for the runs. Often as not we get the Mo when people who haven't run with me before join us. Makes me look really good.

    Prof - Qhell / arm - w/e khan, stf / dak - cuda/stf
    stone - khan/stf / BB - stf/QHell / badjac - stf/LR
  4. Tuesday's MoKhan went off well and the following each received a shiny:

    Freehand - blaster
    Badjac - brute
    Krunk - tank
    Blood Beret - MM
    Willow - troller
    EoD - troller
    Anne - peacebringer
    Me - sonic troller

The team gelled really quickly and I was pleased because Free had never done a Mo with me and most of the others hadn't done MoKhan with me. (Although thankfully their sense of direction in caves was better than mine.)

I must apologize that it was a tad rocky for my part and wasn't the best lead; I woke up late, had cat aggro from hell through most of it and I found it very hard to do the leading bit while buffing. It is so much easier to lead on a tank. Or anything that doesn't require shielding.

No real scares through any of it as far as I remember. Bad and Krunk got stunned during Reichs but that was it. Some great pick ups of the AV there.

All in all a good run. Great job guys.

  5. Castle I wish you the best for your future. I hope whichever role you move to gives you enjoyment. I'm not a numbers person but I appreciate the communication you enter into with the community.

This. A lot. This smells badly. I admit I'm wondering whether or not I should renew both of my accounts because I usually do it for a year.
  6. Yesterday I had my main acct in game but couldn't get past "no response from server" on the second account on the other machine.

This was after patching. I quit and restarted and it patched/applied again. Still no response.

I deleted the checksum and it downloaded it again but it got stuck on downloading file manifest. So I put the old checksum back. It tried updating/applying a few times and eventually I got in.

    Cross fingers everytime I alt.
  7. Omega I never know what I'm doing but open invitation if I'm around and you need a body then just yell at me. I've a shed load of alts but I suspect the two which you'd most like are my rad rad corr and my d3 def. I have the badges so don't save me a spot but if you need someone - yell.
  8. I must be one of the few people who like the Dr Q TF. I don't know all the short cuts though You know me, I rarely stealth anything.

The following people have agreed to join me tomorrow for MoKhan (FF). Tuesday 10am EST.
    1) me - whatever but likely ill/sonic troller
    2) Blood - Dragun - MM
    3) Badjac - brute
    4) LadyWillow - as required
    5) Anne - as required
    6) Krunk - tank
    7) EoD - as required
    8)

    ALTS

Still a spot free if anyone wants. Don't mind if you haven't done it before. Any AT is fine once we have the basics covered (we do). Nor do I care about set IOs (I've used sub par IOs on a couple of runs). Stable net connection and ability to follow instructions is much more important. If you can't do that, you're risking the badge for those that want it and I feel that's rude.

If you can read typo'nese then you're welcome. Bear in mind that I'm pretty slow so handy if you want shards, but lousy if you want to be out in 45mins.

Also please make allowances for me being a "rubbish leader". That stunning assessment was from someone who has never been on one of my runs. They probably follow the blaster instead of the tank. All I can say is those that can, do; see thread.

I am half toying with the idea of setting up a channel to organize these runs because I'm getting more requests/repeat members in game. However, I'm at max channels and would need to drop one permanently. If you think it's a decent idea then send me a tell in game. If there's enough then I will do it.

My suspicion is that this weekend would be bad for a Mo Run ("Can you carve honey I'm on a TF") but maybe we can get one in on Thursday after maint? MoSTF maybe?

For me I just don't think it's worth it.

I'd LIKE to give feedback and recognize the efforts made by the writers but the rewards gained compared to time involved is a poor deal to me.

    1) Time required to find an arc which I want to play and is suitable to my level/AT
    2) No rewards except tickets on most arcs (tickets are usually the only time I will use AE now)

    To expand on these:
    1) Finding an arc
    - Poorly labelled arcs (and the AE system has improved but is still at fault)
    - Not an exploitative farm (I don't care if someone has a ticket farm but at least label it so I don't bother looking for a story)
    - Not broken due to 'AE fixes'
    - Isn't full of mobs which are exceptionally annoying for the level/AT I'm playing (I'm sure someone enjoys Knives, I generally don't)
    - I'd like to see more low level content but most arcs seem to be aimed at 50s who cheefully solo +4 x8
    - Generally improve the clarity about the arc's content
    - I don't expect every clue or every dialogue box but at least make a bash at grammar/spelling
    - Attention to detail including costumes

I do understand that a lot of the difficulty here is the AE mission editor/kb limit. Not all, though.

    2) Tickets are usually the only reward
    - I will play AE only if I need tickets and then I'm looking for fast ticket drops (not exploits just good number of tickets so no I'm not leading your hostage to the door )
    - Dev Choice and Hall of Fame aren't necessarily the best; giving an arc Dev's Choice because the Devs are IN it doesn't qualify as a quality arc to me

I understand the writer's frustrations with the requirements for DC and HoF and I can only say that if DC and HoF are going to stay they need a revamp on requirements. I'd rather see 'most highly rated this month' which takes out the necessity of dodging broken arcs as time goes on. Yes that might get a lot of farms rated. This is from a fairly non-AE-player perspective. I'm sure there are better ideas out there. I'd certainly be happy with a total wipe. There has been so many changes since AE started it wouldn't hurt to remove the stuff which no longer works or is just someone's (fixed) farm.

I have played some decent arcs. There was one which was fighting nazi's and the costumes was so good I was wondering how they managed a swastika on the chest (of course it wasn't the jacket gave the illusion but it was superb). I know there is good stuff there. However, so often I think I've found something then discover it's a farm or you are level 30 then level 50 then level 12. Or get to the last mission and find the 'custom' AV is just far far too hard because someone went crazy on the custom power selection.

It is hard to write an arc and those that do deserve credit. They deserve their arcs to be played. However, I'm not going to do that if I can run an ITF in the time it takes me to find a decent arc and get better drops doing so.

Would I use AE more if it had 'normal' drops. Maybe. However, unless it had a wipe of arcs which are broken and an improvement in the information about arcs, probably not.
  10. This is a belated "Thank you" to:

    Damon Etat - d3
Echoes of Darkness - rad troller
    Saccares - sonic def
Cosmic Cavalier - rad I think
    Lady Willow - emp def
    Prof Malice - mm (bot/traps)
    Vivixen - brute

For a successful MoSTF. (No sign up on the forum. It was a surprise to me.)

That's right. No scrapper or blaster. And the tank? Yeah that was me on my Inv/SS Ziggy Booker.

An additional thank you to Call Me Awesome for his guides. Ziggy's come a long way since he lived at the market because I found him too annoying to play. I appreciate the effort CMA has put in to his various guides. A really great basis for understanding inv and I appreciate them and the various posts he's made on tanking LR with inv.

    Tuesday 10am EST. MoKhan

    1) me - whatever but likely tanking
    2)
    3)
    4)
    5)
    6)
    7)
    8)

    ALTS

Don't care if you haven't run it before, or what IO's you're using or your alpha slot providing you have a bit of patience and can read/follow my typo'd instructions.

I do stealth one bit of this so a steath/tp would be handy.
  11. Capa_Devans

    Sick of Temps!

Envenomed daggers are handy. I don't even vendor the rest. Straight to delete.
  12. OK Tue didn't quite happen but today's did and a shiny to:

    Countess - blaster
    Mal - brute
    badjac - brute
    Ultimate gate - cold corr
    Anne - rad
    jaffah - emp
    blood beret - peacebringer
    me - mind dom

    Many thanks guys.

Obviously the winter event starts on Friday but I might be conned into doing a MoKhan over the weekend because I know a few people want that. Next week will probably be a MoStates. Not sure yet.
  13. Get your rear back here!

I swear, you loosen the string a little bit and people escape ....
  14. Nice raid there Wulf, thanks for the invite.

Thanks to all participants for such a smooth raid.

Why? The fitness pool is inherent with i19 so Stamina kicks in at level 2. Tough isn't available until 14 and Weave until 20. Slot end redx first. Although that will probably make weave not worth the bother until later.

    To the OP:
A lot will depend on your playstyle. Any nuke that zeros your endurance is going to drop your toggles. So will it annoy you having to turn tough/weave/cj/epic shield back on? Do you mainly run in teams where you aren't nuking (EG Mo, CoP)?

My blaster runs Tough and a Patron shield which gets here 47% s/l res and 30% neg res. That's without any IO bonuses. I have taken her on successful Mo runs. (She was my blue badger.)

Personally I like defence but it's much easier to get resistance. Weave/CJ is ok but - for me - it wasn't worth it.

I went the "play smart" not softcap route. But elec/fire is a different to my psy/mental. YMMV.
  16. Communication is always welcome but wouldn't this be more suitable in news/announcements?
  17. Accidentally did a successful MoKhan last night. It was supposed to be a practice run for a 'real' attempt at another time but I set it as a Mo anyway.

We pulled it off and these guys now have new shiney.

    Me - D3 def P'thaqein
    Prof Malice - MM
    Vivixen - brute
    George C - brute
    gyyvii - PB
    Doc Horizon - bubbles troller
    NetherKat - kin def

I was a tad worried about damage but Reichs and the AVs went down really easily. Only two scary moments were in the pool room where half the team took hits which dropped them in the yellow and the last fight were someone must have been saved by the 'cannot be one shot' rule.

Thanks to ALL of you. I don't know that TF as well as some others and your patience were much appreciated.

I will be doing a Master of Lady Grey next week.
Probably Tuesday 14th 10 am EST.

    1) Me - whichever
    2) Malice - dom
    3) Vivixen - thermal
    4) Countess - blaster
    5) Jaffah - rad troller
    6) Badjac - brute
    7) anne - sonic sonic def
    8) dak - brute

    ALTS:

Once I know the Tin and Apex's TFs better I might have a bash at badgey-runs of those. I've done each three times and completed them all but I'd like a bit more practice before I start running them. I'm still a bit bemused by a Master run on which you can die.

    EDIT: Requests

  18. Thanks for another great quick, easy and efficient raid.

Special nod to Gravifris who was leading the team I was on.

Best of luck to the tank team on getting their rewards. I did get mine from last week. I'm surprised that it's not more of a pain for NC to datamine each raid than fix the problem.
  19. Capa_Devans

    Who do u want?

A competent player. Anything else is negotiable on most teams.

I don't want to see "TPing to boss" on a team advertised as kill all, "I am a healer" who never uses their attacks or buffs JUST sits rocking the aura, "yeah I was afk but I'm back now" or "I have to leave now to go shopping but good luck with the Master run". You get the gist, I'm sure.

For a Masters run I want players who can follow instructions and a well balanced team: shields, debuff, tankage, damage. Yes someone will have heals but if that's ALL they do ... I don't want them. I don't care if the player is new or hasn't done the TF before.

With the new TFs, I want EVERYONE slotted with an Incarnate slot. Not 7/8 but 8/8 for a Tin Mage or Apex. Otherwise my view is that you're dead weight on that TF.
  20. The GOOD:

    * I applaud you trying to keep the player base interested and involved
    * Freebee's are always nice
    * You're trying to bring out the inner cossie ho in all of us

    The BAD:

    * Many people can't get into this because they can't refresh those pages ("No, sorry I can't attend that burning building, I'm refreshing Twitter" )
    * It's incredibly frustrating *click click click* trying to apply a code when so are hundreds of others, at least with the lottery you get a ticket and show up later to see if you've won
    * You can't be playing if you are applying a code to you Master account, so you're actively discouraging people from playing

    The UGLY:

    * The vast majority of the player base hates this, they tell you they hate it and yet you still do it

Please think of something else or if that fails, steal someone else's idea.

    Speaking of which:

That is a great idea GMan3.
  21. Thank you. WarBase took me on a tour of a few of his bases hence me getting the wrong server.
  22. That's a pretty impressive record there.
  23. It requires more thought.

Some of my chars are picking up one hit wonders (recall, clarity). But a few chars are being rebuilt ground up. New sets/new powers/completely different slotting.

It isn't impossible whether it's a minor change or a rebuild but it does require some thought and pre-planning.

Some people are no double stealing slots and covering the gaps with Incarnate. Me, I'm making solid builds and using Incarnate to increase what is already good rather than cover holes.

I'm delighted with inherent fitness, and slots would have been nice especially for already-tight builds such as VEATS and HEATs. However, chucking in a load of extra slots could be seen as making the game too easy.
  24. Basically what Armeros said.

Fantastically well organized CoPs. I think we started about 15 mins after scheduled start both sides and for herding 24 people that's really impressive and a testament to the quality of the organization and the people joining the CoPs.

The Obelisks were utterly flawless. All three teams just punched through the mobs and the shield. No danger of having to regroup at that area now. So simple.

The cube/av section went really smoothly. Oddly red seemed tougher than stormy this week but they both died, so that's all good. I was on debuffers/support chars both times and I don't think anyone needed healing against Stormy. Very little against Red. Awesome teams.

Rikti raid - flawless. I particularly enjoy it because they aren't many pets used so the lag is no where near as bad as on other Raids I've been on where people rely on shivs and heavies you can't see much for the pets.

Really great job all. Thank you again Omega for running these so well.
