I was never one to put much credibility into all the Jack Hate way-back-when. I believed it to be mob mentality exaggerated reaction to the nerf-of-the-moment.

However.

That was before I joined the beta test of CO some months ago. Now, I'm re-evaluating my original dismissal of the Jack Hate----and not in a good way, if you take my meaning. I'm starting to lean more and more in that direction.

BTW, please don't think the Champions you see in CO is in any way a valid representation of the true game. It's been run through *someone's* distorted, insipid brain. I strongly suspect Jack's handiwork yet again. Could be that Roper dude everyone loves to hate, I guess. Either way, it's not really Champions.

Well, this has happened to me twice. Once, I just got the /tell:

Applied to one of my alien, all-in-black, featurless humanoids (male) who, had the idiot bothered to read the backstory on, would've realized I was an alien manifestation of the Space Beast Celadon sent to Earth to hunt down Rikti technology *sigh*.

And, the other: one of the Avatars of the Elemental Guardians (male) who wears briefs and a tight chest armor suit. She said: hmmmmm! nice legs! I responded: this is just a cartoon on your screen, my dear; please try to calm down. *sigh*

In neither instance did I have a snappy comeback. I've had this happen in RL as well, all through high school to my present older age. To dispel possible confusion, yeah, I'm a Gaymer, so you can see how I really appreciate SC's one-liners. Definitely going to be using them! SC! already added +Rep to ya Love ya!

"Off-color" things are things of dubious propriety. That is, it's a way of saying that something is indecent or vulgar. Hobo is joking about customizing vulgarity (and/or scatology, though I don't think we'll actually get to customize Granite). One might select themes, such as l337 (leet-speak profanity), Comic (standard non-alphanumeric symbology familiar to us from our favorite superhero titles), or even Archaic British (featuring such long-standing favorites as "Balderdash!").

I leave it as an exercise for the readers to interpret his bran-related comment in light of this new information. I submit that it is highly relevant to the content of his posts.

There's got to be SOME kind of thematic match to Archery for Blasters. I hate having to break theme. Every other power makes no sense---to me, at least. Maybe something in the new list of PPs.

I could go for animated tails and more, properly rendered ones, at that. Something we were promised way back in beta that never manifested...

My only problem with this Booster is the costumes just, well, sorry, all---they suck. When *I* think of super science stuff, I instantly think of Mr. Fantastic, Galactus, The Watcher, Elders of the Universe, etc.

Not some cheesy, puke green half-toga and a partially shaved head 'hair style'.

The goggles mean nothing to me. Now, if they were Ether Goggles, well, that'd be a different story, eh?

Last time I kept asking a question like that (in public) and the development team kept dropping into threads and answering everything BUT that question, was back when Dual Blades were being introduced. I kept asking if adding customization to them wouldn't be possible, as it would appease the masses of "No More Swords!" people, but got no response. A month later, we got weapon customization

That said, while I REALLY REALLY want powerset customization, I'm not going to assume we're getting it, like, ever, until we actually get it.

Good way to look at it. In all honesty, I'm not even that personally invested in getting color customization for powers. Sure, I would use it if available but it just isn't something that will drive me conceptually. I'm sure that if it hits it will be nice for a player with the name Purple Reign to actually have his power effects be purple in color but I generally avoid color-oriented naming schemes because they are limited (at present) to be represented in costumes and the pre-existing colors of powers only.

The kind of customization I would be jazzed about is more like firing-point choices (hands, eyes, chest, mouth, etc.) and the ability to use a focus item (gun, staff, wand, etc.) to create your power effects. I could see the former possibly happening in the life of this game but the latter would introduce weapon redraw issues into powersets that don't currently have them. With that in mind, I don't think we'll ever see the kind of power customization I would want in City of Heroes.

I would be so pleased to be wrong.

Coloring my powers and choosing emanation points for powers that make sense would be awesomeness. Yeah, using 'props' would also rock. You can't even do the latter in *mumble*mumble* superhero game---as far as I hear ;P

Graphic update/overhaul: yes, that would be awesome as well.

I think it's too late, at this point, honestly. Nice solution: logical, reasonable.

But we have reached the point of no return, alas. We witnessed knee-jerk reactions and counter-actions, stormy waters that cannot be recalled for recycling.

For me, I never really felt the allure of MA because, though the content was rearranged and original dialogue was injected, the content remained the same. The same as the game. Yeah, sure, I've tried my hand at writing a couple of stories---but with no enthusiasm for either the process or the product.

Best we can hope for at this point is for I15 and Rogue to wash away the bitterness and memories.

As for me, I'm done with the MA. My entire SG/VG refuses to use it for any purpose, now. Quickly, the MA buildings are nearly completely empty like the arenas. Sure, a handful use it and will continue to do so, regardless. But the throngs of players and writers are no more.

I don't play the 'regular' game any longer, btw. MA (er, well, creating my MA story) was the only reason I've been logging on lately. Now, that that incentive has been nullified, my characters gather virtual dust, waiting for something new.

I'm going to hope for something awesome from I15.
