Yeah, I remember that, but there were other devs other than him that were still around that as far as I know didn't get their moment in the series. They could have just continued with another one.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you check the original Ask a Dev info thread, it was only slated to include Manticore, Geko, Positron, Capt. Mako, War Witch, Statesman and Lord Recluse. LR left before his answers were posted. No one else had been announced to follow, though a few times a repeat of the Ask a Dev series has been suggested.

I'm glad it's coming back and hope it becomes a regular occurance.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm also glad it's back, and I do hope it becomes a regular feature, I just wish they had continued with the original (even if it meant re-asking people or adding other people to the list).

  3. So basically the same stuff we had on these forums a while ago and then stopped out of nowhere, but over on Warcry instead?

I "loved" the leap of logic when they said the 9/11 terrorists trained on flight sims so therefore a kid who plays GTA will go around killing cops.

How about instead, we ask "Why are parents letting a nine year old play a game he isn't old enough to play?"

First it was jazz, then it was movies, then heavy metal, then rap, now it's video games that is ruining our children. I think it is parents that are ruining our children. It's harder to adopt a pet from a shelter than it is to become a parent. That alone should point out the core issues.

What the heck is Wacky Races?

Old Hanna Barbera cartoon. Visit the various links in Zombie_Man's post for more info.
  6. Very sweet. I especially like the Sneak Preview about the green line in the south end of Skyway in I9.

Edit: I also find it amusing that the Freedom Corps and Paragon Police are listed under New Villain Groups.
  7. Superjump may be my most used, but Superspeed is my favorite (and in my opinion, the best way to train how to use superspeed in enclosed spaces is in cave maps and Orenbega), followed closely by Teleport. Flight is last, though with wings coming up that may make Flight restructure itself much higher in my hierarchy - possibly second favorite if I like the wings enough.
  8. Hmm. TopDoc, if you do end up making a new version of this (great) guide, do you think you might include the Prestige Jump Jet from the GvE edition?
  9. Wheeee. More thread necromancy. Last post was 12/24/04!
  10. Wow, you just had to go there Ah well, I should have expected it. Still, that's only a week older than this one.

Edit: Not that I'm asking you to find an older one and revive it
  11. Hmm. I wonder what the record for the necromantic revival of the longest dead thread is. This one's gotta be pretty close to it.

The Cathedral of Pain is expected to be released prior to Issue 8, and it will be a little different than originally planned. It will be PvE oriented and the trial will remain active for 7 days.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Cricket, can you clarify this please? The CoP trial was already entirely PvE in all its previous incarnations, so in what sense will it be PvE oriented?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe she meant that it will be PvE oriented because base raids aren't functioning so you won't have to worry about having another group raid your base just because you have an IoP?
  13. Woohoo! Thanks a bunch for this!

someone should photoshop him in hovering above the rest.

or perhaps just bobbing up and down, like in the banner up there.

What about bowbreaker that is listed in the Prima guide?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Bow Breaker does not exist from what I have seen, and it is not required for the Force of Nature accolade.

Positron, another question... in this situation:

    [ QUOTE ]
[*]Many meters move so slowly that you can't tell if you've made any progress on a badge. Can we get multi-line meters for large achievements? (eg, Healing, any Epic badges, anything over 500 kills.)

[/ QUOTE ]Probably not. The bar has 100 ticks on it, so moving it 1 tick is 1% of progress.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Could we maybe get a number indicator that shows when you mouse over the bar, similar to our HP/End bars? So that we can see (25/50,000) or even the percentage so that when it moves 1%, we can see the number go up since it's not easy to tell that the bar moved?

    [/ QUOTE ]

That would be extremely helpful. Even if it was just listing the percentage as opposed to the actual amount, it would be quite nice. I second this suggestion.

    And thanks, Positron, for posting!

Do villains really need 3 badges that require 1000 kills to obtain (Zookeeper, PPD badge, and Villain - along with the change to the Improved Igniter SG thing needing 4000 kills)? Zookeeper is one thing since it's Underling class mobs, but 1k minions? A little much IMO.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can't speak for Zookeeper since I've never gotten that, but Outlaw (the PPD badge) and Villain (the Longbow badge) are both quite easy to obtain through regular play, even completely solo play. Most characters I get them before level 25 without any need of any sort of farming.
  18. Thank you Positron very much. Definitely appreciate it.

Wow. Can we please get a dev comment here?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Send a PM. That usually gets you a faster response.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I sent a PM to Positron last Thursday on this issue. Hasn't even been read yet. Other people have sent PM's as well with no luck. About the only success I know of with PM's on this issue is someone sending one to Cricket who said something like she wasn't sure but she would look into it and would post when she found out anything.

and what do those accolades do

    [/ QUOTE ]

Portal Jockey / Born in Battle gives +5% HP/End
Archmage / Demonic gives a click power that boosts resistances but reduces accuracy (can't remember exact details on what it boosts/reduces) on a 25 minute recharge
Conspiracy Theorist / Headline Stealer gives an attack power that immobilizes on a 25 minute recharge
Freedom Phalanx Reserve Member / High Pain Threshold gives +10% HP
Task Force Commander / Invader gives +5% HP
Atlas Medallion / Marshall gives +5 End
Vanguard / Megalomaniac gives a click power that increases effect of mez effects on a 25 minute recharge
  21. I just did a brief comparison of the absolute mininum levels between the hero side and the villain side for accolades and this is what I came up with. The equivalent accolades are in pairs.

Portal Jockey (min level of 1 assuming you can find someone to sidekick you for the missions)
Born in Battle (min level 30 due to Triumphant)

Archmage (min level of 21 due to Dark Mystic)
Demonic (min level 1 assuming you can find someone to lackey you for the mission)

Conspiracy Theorist (min level of 33 due to Crey Fish)
Headline Stealer (min level 15 due to Crooked Politician)

Freedom Phalanx Reserve Member (min level of 23 due to Authority)
High Pain Threshold (min level 10 (for debt), effective min level ~36 due to Deathless)

Task Force Commander (min level 35 due to Numina Task Force)
Invader (min level 1 assuming you can find someone to lackey you for the missions)

Atlas Medallion (min level of 7 due to Pupil)
Marshall (min level 45 due to Annihilator)

Vanguard (min level of 40 due to Ace)
Megalomaniac (min level 40 due to Last Stand)

Geas of the Kind Ones (min level of 30 for Cabalist)
    ? (no equivalent for villains?)

So, if you add up all the hero min levels (not including Geas of the Kind Ones since I don't see a villain equivalent), it totals 160. If you add up all the villain min levels, it totals 168. Which is closer than I was expecting, but specific accolades seem to have a extremely wide variance between the two sides, with the exception of the Vanguard/Megalomaniac accolades.

I personally think it'd be nice if the two sides were a bit more equal per accolade.
  22. Right, when I said "quit out if you couldn't complete it", I meant the overall SF, not the third mission. Sorry, should have been more clear on that.
  23. Yeah. Luckily, you'd get it in the third mission so you could just do the first three missions and then quit out if you couldn't complete it.

Though, that means that the Marshall accolade that requires this badge can't be obtained until a mininum level of 45... when the equivalent hero accolade (Atlas Medallion) can be obtained with a mininum level of 7, and easily by 20. Not very balanced there...
  24. [ QUOTE ]
I have to assume that this has already been mentioned, but it is just plain silly to require Deathless as an accolade. I took pride in the fact that I was only rarely defeated in my run from 1-40, and I surely don't want to be defeated from 41-50. I was not running easy missions either - I usually had my difficulty settings up to level 3 or higher. In order to get this badge, I am going to have to intentionally die, just to get debt to repay so I can earn this badge. What kind of requirement is that? Surely, it would make more sense to base this on how much damage you have taken, for instance.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Making this based on a damage taken badge would make a lot more sense, I agree. I also don't like to die, so going for this badge is counterintuitive to my nature and is a complete grind.
