Arcs by genre. This thread differs to the CoHmatoes thread as it links to authors' information (sometimes posters!) instead of reviews.
Note: I cleaned up some of the formatting and deleted any obviously broken URL tags for the sake of readability. I could not figure out how to fix the bullet color-coding.
2nd Note: I've had some problems when displaying this page while having the "Number of Posts to Show Per Page" set to a high number (in my case, 100 posts per page). This causes a programming error on the forum, leading to non-display due to the large amount of text in the posts. Drop your limit down to 20 posts to work around the issue. -Turg

ARCHITECT ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS:
The Fall and Rise of Athanatos
ID: 521712
Looking for feedback & ratings
Synopsis
The battle of Heaven and Hell never sleeps. It has no beginning. It has no end. The clash of Angels and Demons is an unstable balance both sides fight violently to hold. And When Helena, Lieutenant Commander of Heaven's Army, asks you to ascend to Heaven as mortals in the flesh to fight among both combatants and help General Athanatos, you are more than willing to accept. However, it'll start a chain reaction of events that will take you from Heaven to Hell and from now and 2000 years ago. Find out if Athanatos is who he says he is. Do what is necessary.
I put a lot into the story, so please read it. I did what I could with popup dialogues and windows to help teammates follow along with the story since only the leader has access to the contact.
Enjoy! Rate! Tell others!
Oh. And take a friend or 2 with you. Several AVs/EBs. Not all at once tho, so if you want to solo them, it is possible.
Please Rate! Thx! -
Made some more changes and tweaks.
Thanks @Block-Head for the info!

Quote:This. While I am sure the computer itself is a complicating factor, there ARE actual bugs going on that make running trials a bit less than fun: the "you are not in the zone but you are" bug, the "4+ random people got kicked and can't rejoin" bug, the "now my whole carefully constructed team is scattered across 7 teams" bug, and a pernicious memory leak that seems to cause me (and other players) to crash about once every other trial.
Most of those are new with i20.5 and have not been addressed as far as I know.
Ran a BAF yesterday, and all of my blasters and trollers were kicked during the load. A team of all melee couldn't keep up with the prisoners and we failed.
As for the whole league getting scattered across several teams despite being locked, I'm starting to get used to the idea that I have to make adjustments. That's not cool. This needs to be fixed. -
You know, return business is a big part of retail. And for some of us who've run toons through 1-20 hundreds of times, it's not something I look forward to. Oh sure, in the beginning, it was lots of fun, but it got to be a dreaded grind.
The DFB put a whole new fire to create new toons. Return Customer!
And I love the DFB just the way it is! 5 AVs right from the get-go? That's awesome! A big lure of this game is that you start as a superhero with superpowers. You don't start as some goofy 1-hit-wonder out slaughtering rats. You actually get to fight low lvl AVs. I'm all for it, and was so excited to see it. Not because I'm getting AV xp at lvl 1-6, but because of the content itself.
I like the DFB just the way it is.

Updated
5 very short missions. Custom characters.
The Fall and Rise of Athanatos
His body ached. He felt weak. Tired. Human. Mortal. What had happened? Once, a General at the Incarnate's side, but now cast out. Stripped down to that of a mere man. As Athanatos looked to the sky in search of a presence, he felt empty and lost. He was alone, but his resolve would not be defeated.
Enjoy! -

Bad toon go sit on the naughty step
It's never really bothered me. I mean it's "The Wild" of Paragon, and there's wild baddies out there anyway. But it's been happening since year 2 of CoH, so it probably won't go anywhere. -
-
Ha!
I was in a standard door mission yesterday and didn't get the Exit button. I was like, "No Way, How could this be that much of a coincidence that I just happened to learn the /requestexitmission 1 command today lol."
Haven't seen that bug in 5 years. But it kicked me right out, so thanks! -

Quote:4 controllers? Really? Weird. The min/max 4 team limit isn't bad, though odd, and makes it a lil harder for just random singles to get into a game without forming up a team of 4 to begin with. And there seems to be an odd bug with Rogues/Vigilantes where selection "First Available Trial" tells them they can't join the event.
The trial itself is pretty fun, it's another mad dash like Death from Below. I ran it last night in a PUG and randomly wound up on a team of 4 illusions controllers XD 1 empathy, 2 Storm, and 1 Radiation (me). Everything went pretty smoothly, though we missed out on the 99/Abom badge, we nailed the 99 in about 9 minutes but just couldn't nail the boss fast enough in the time left, it took us about an extra 2-3 minutes after to drop him.
We also hit Experiment 9, which not everyone seems to hit. Anyone know what the trigger is for that event?
See, thats where the LFG needs to be fine tuned. When you queue, you should be clicking the style of play you plan on doing (Tank, Support, Control, Melee, Range) so it adequately builds your team.
The reason I find 4 controllers weird is that I was under the assumption that it was already forming teams in a very basic manner this way, because every time I've done the trial, I've gotten a nice mix of players. (Tank, Dmg, Support/Control). Guess I was just lucky. -
Sounds like a "back door" type of deal for Devs to come and go. That being said, most likely it was left in unintentionally....
Doesn't mean I'm not going to go try it out right now!! -
I don't think that'll eject you from the trial tho.
Roswell, I've been in the same situation. The big grated entrance gate should let you out. Or the side door to the Abandoned Sewers. I don't recall which one. I believe I tried them both when the same happened to me, but it did spit me back out where I was previously. -
I usually do another tip mission of someone else's, and I usually get the Morality Tip within the first mob.
-
I love the LFG queue. And I'm hoping it gets fine tuned to add all TF's as an option. And for solo players, I would think this is a huge bonus since you don't have to worry about putting a team together. Just queue up. Run the trial/tf, and then you're off on your own again.
I've ran the trial probably a dozen times already, and I've never been on one that wasn't successful, but 6 players might have made it a little less of a headache at times.
I'm wondering if it was just a space constraint. Cramped rooms. However, the Graveyard is a pretty good size place. -
Quote:Agreed. They were big enough last year. They were, what... 9 feet tall? Tall enough. And I'm assuming you guys thought it was going to be a treat when we first saw it.Ok what's with the insanely giant sized Nightmares that spawn during zombie invasions?! It is cool you guys can make Godzilla sized creatures but this is too big for constant spawns. Maybe one unique GM in a zone or mish etc but a bunch of them is overwhelming. You can't see half the GM. I hope they revert back to normal size soon.
Yeah, it was.
At first.
Now it's just annoying. -
Negotiator is getting fixed with the new patch! w00t!
-
Quote:Exactly. And to the Indiana Jones reference as well.See, to me that doesn't sound interesting, it sounds annoying. Just like the snipers in Founders' Falls and Peregrine Island aren't interesting, they're annoying.
My gameplay isn't in the traveling, but in the goal and the mission. If I was the type who enjoyed finding new things, and I do, I do it when badge hunting. -
Quote:It does increase your flight speed and flight cap. However, it has to run with Fly and you'll be Only Affecting Self while it is active. Is Afterburner worth getting? I'm a little fuzzy still on how that works.
I've gotten it up to 86 mph which is much more comparible to Super Speed, however you have to burn 2 extra slots it to get there. 2 Fly IOs in both Fly and Afterburner and 1 in Swift.
If you 3 slot Fly and/or Afterburner, you can put Blessed of the Zephyr in it and get a +Def to Ranged, Energy, Negative, AoE, Fire, and Cold. But it will bring you down to 83 mph which is still great. With just 2 of the set will still get you +Def to Ranged, Energy, and Negative.
This is what I did to boost Defense.
Click Here for my Inv/SS Build! -
It cost me 400 million Influence and yet another respec, but it has paid off tremedously. Thx Calhou and Hopeling. I'll now be Incarnating this toon rather than shelving it!
-
Quote:Didn't see Afterburner on. Made a big difference. Made some tweaks to the sample you gave, and here's what I came up with. Oh, and I traded Grant Cover for Parry. Gained a slot that way by putting the LotG +Rech in it.That's because you have Afterburner toggled on, which you won't be using in combat since it prevents you from attacking. Turn off Afterburner and your defense plummets to less than 30%, which means you take more than four times as many hits as you would at the softcap.

Thx for the help! -
Thx, Calhou. Appreciate the time.
When I look at the overall stats tho, my build has better totals. The DPS looks like it would be stronger with your build tho. DeBuff Resistance is better with yours also.
