(That's usually the line-up I use for RSF and STF)
Lacks the three melee classes, Silverado.
  2. I'm going to assume 3 being melee is meant, not just tanker, brute, scrapper (ie...I can put a stalker in place of whatever)...also going to assume IOed out toons...

    1) Me (KIN/WP Stalker)
    2) Electric/Shield Scrapper
    3) Shield/Super Strength Brute
    4) Rad/Sonic Defender
    5) Fire/Cold Corruptor
    6) Cold/Sonic Defender
    7) Fire/Sonic Corruptor
    8) Fire/Thermal Corruptor

2 Colds Should keep the team heavily defensed, while bring the debuffs when needed.
Sonic and Thermal keep the team heavily resistant, while bring more debuffs.
Rad and Thermal provide any needed healing.

Possibly enough AOE, with the added benefit of the Tanker having Sonic's -Resist Toggle going, two cold with Sleet, a Rad putting up -Resist, basically a lot of -Resist going on with this team.

The Sonic Blasting Defenders bringing more -resist, while the Corrs are laying down additional AOE blasts.

The Brute would hopefully be built for aggro management as well, for just in case spots, but the Defenders/Corrs all having Hover to stay out of melee.

The Stalker, would bring additional DPS, relying on Placate -> Brust, while dishing out ST damage, and on this team would likely go unnoticed, as that's a lot of AOE flying around.

Kin's SB would be unneeded, as you figure everyone is IOed for perfection, thusly the AOEs are coming back pretty regularly, and the RAD is adding AM ontop of it.

Thermal is spreading the +ACC/+DMG around (likely to the 2 other Corrs and the Scrapper...with my guess that you can keep 3 perma'ed with the power...i think that's how many I can on my Elec/Thermal, mayeb it was 4).

My Stalker could be Vengeance bait as well, for additional +DMG and defenses, if needed.

AVs should melt, with the spawns not being to much more of a problem.

So, next I went to the character creator, started creating a DP character of each type and went to the powers screen and checked out blinding feint animation for each AT - the brute shows the 'build up' type flash, the scrapper and tank do not. So it looks like this is only on brutes.

My guess would be that when they copied the power set animations over to redside somehow the animation used for build up in stalker's DB got crossed with the BF animation in the brute version - but thats a WAG - it could be that all 3 versions of BF where meant to do a build up type animation and only the brute got it.
It doesn't bother me that the scrapper doesn't have it. It was just curiousity.

I'm sure that there's a lot who would rather keep itflash free on their scrappers/tankers anyways.

  5. While I've never been one to want to see Super Strength ported to Scrappers, due to a few powers not feeling the level of scrappers (all in my personal opinion of course)...like Footstomp and Hurl Boulder.

I've recently changed my mind on it.

I still see super strength scrappers being inthe levels of SpiderMan, where you don't see him ripping out pieces of the ground, or foot stomping and causing a mini earthquake, however, I'm thinking of letting it slide.

That said, I still don't think every set should be ported to every AT, just because they have those sets as possible options.

I think Stone Armor should remain Tanker/Brute. I think Ninjitsu should stay Stalkers and be ported to Scrappers.

For ports I'd like to see...

Force Fields & Psi Blast for Corrs.

Dark Miasma to Trollers, only after they come up with a Dark Control Primary, and thusly make any needed changes to Dark Miasma for Trollers, as to not have to much overlap.

    Fire Blast/Thermal for Defenders.

Ninjitsu, Energy Aura, Energy Melee (even though I personally don't like to play it anymore) for Scrappers.

    Ice Armor/Ice Melee for Stalkers.

Broadsword/Regen for Brutes, not that I would play the sets on Brutes, but Regen seems to fit any of the melee ATs.

    Broadsword/Regen for Tankers. See above.

    Dominators need a Dark Set.

    Cold Domination for Master Minds.

Blasters need a Dark Set too. I'm actually surprised they havent gotten one yet, it seems like an easy Proliferation, but I could be wrong.

Is it a Brute only effect?

The question is, do Tankers get that flash of light as well.
  7. I wouldn't think about making a squishie toon without Hover/Fly personally.

That said, I consider it the funnest travel to take.

That said, outside of squishie toons, Hover just isn't a min/max worthy power, so you will see a lot of builds forgo it.

Build flexibility is another issue. With the coming of Ninja run, people can add in other concept related powers, have a travel power and go.

When i19 arrives, I'll most likely fit in Fly on my main and namesake again. Fly was never a concept driven power for my main, but it was a power I loved to take on her. When trying to get in a few other concept powers on my main, I saw FLY as the least concept needed one (I saw her more of the running building to building type who had the ability to fly, but didn't use it as often as she just prefere to run building to build ).

You only have so many powers, and likely to see more concept powers than you can possibly fit in, sooo...things are going to have to be left out, if you want to fit them in, without totally gimping your build (ie...I'm not going to leave out an armor on my melee toon, just to fit in fly).
  8. My main and namesake was a Dual Blade/WP scrapper untill recently (rerolled as Kin/WP Stalker)...sooo, lots of time spent on using Dual Blades.

However, I have an alt I made recently, a DB/Elec Brute.

When I use Blinding Feint, and it connects, I get a build up style flash, when it connects, which I never got on my Scrapper.

Is this something new? Or has then always been a Brute only thing? Or do tankers have it as well?
  9. Kinetic Melee shines in everything because it gives me everything I want in a melee set!

    Big hitter? Consentrated Strike! Check!

Range attack without redraw? Focused Burst! Check!

    Great Single Target DPS? Check!

Build Up that I want to use? Consentrated Strike instantly recharges BU on Crits! Check!

    Personally, I love the set!

[Edit] Forgot to mention...has a PBAOE? Burst! Check!

    See! Everything I want!

    Tony Curtis RIP

I will now have to watch Operation Petticote again!

Always enjoyed seeing his cameos in shows.
  11. Chain Melee! It'd have a couple range powers in it, and a bigger PBAOE than normal (perhaps on par with Footstomp).

Scythe! With an OMG THAT'S HUGE, option as a weapon skin.

Escrima Sticks! For those heroes who want more blunt force trauma, and less slice and dice! I'm actually surprised they haven't made this set yet. It could use the same animations as Dual Blades, but the numbers can be reworked to be smashing, and have different effects.

Some of the other stuff I want can be worked around by power custimazation. Like fancier Broadsword animations.

I love the idea of some grapples, but I know it's impossible with how the game is setup/game engine. Though I could easily see my main wrapping her legs around some baddies necks and tossing them ala Cammy (from SFii).

If they an ever do that with the game, I hope it gets put in as a Power Pool instead, so all toons can have that option.

Caporeia I would think could just become alternate animations for alot of the other sets.

I only find Positron and the Purple set to be worth using, and even then, I'd like to see a set I like more.
  13. BrandX

    The bigness!

Seeing as how I want Dual Blades to have the option of the Rularuu Broadsword Skin, how the only way I'll play Broadsword is with the Legacy Broadsword or the Rularuu Broadsword skin, and I use Match Compensators for Dual Pistols because they're the biggest you can get, i have to AGREE!

    I want some bigger weapons!

I love how CoH looks more serious than the other game, but even still, I think it can stand to give a few bigger weapons. It's a comic book staple that works when the art with it works.

I have faith BABs can pull that off.

And that's with keep with current weapon animations.

Typically I could hold my own with those. Yes faceplanting a few times. But I could barely stand on my feet against those guys this time.

Also, I was in on a Hami raid this past weekend. My stalker felt normal to me with Hami. But gimped when it came to RSF. So as I think more about it has the RSF changed or has my secondary been gimped.
I'd say it's that you haven't played your toon in awhile for one. Hami is pretty easy to stay the same. It's basically a resist/defenses don't matter situation (they matter, but you know what I mean).

Nothing has changed on Regen, you just need to get back into playing the Stalker. Though, depending on how long you've been gone, might want to look at the IOs.

Also to be mentioned, it could be part of your old team and new team, maybe you teamed with certain people before, and didn't this last outing.

I’ve read about some of the challenges a Stalker faces in Praetoria so realize that’s maybe not the best way to start an archetype you’ve never played.

    1) Recharge times on powers. Even with Recharge in two enhancements slots (never done that before on any other character!), it seems painfully slow to get the basic strikes to a playable state against mobs and ambushes. (And yes, I’ve gotten a little spoiled with the faster combat mechanics of that other major player in the MMO Superhero arena.)

    2) It seems a one trick pony archetype: Yeah, that first stealthed assassin strike is awesome, but after that, the class seems terribly underpowered so far.

    3) I really like the concept of the stalker, but is there any real payoff in the later levels? When I leveled my Scrapper to the top, early on he was hard to sustain, but later on he proved a total blast of a great time to play at the upper levels?

Thanks all. I am always impressed at the great input these forums provide.
    1) I alwayshave an attack ready and waiting on my Stalker. Admittedly, 4 of them are single target attacks, and the other is a PBAOE (not counting AS).

    2) AS is awesome, but it's not something I find I rely on in high levels (others may differ on this). Solo, I always tend to make use of it...BU -> AS -> Placate -> Burst works well. On teams, have to change it up a bit, sometimes it just won't pay to AS things.

On an ITF last night, I was DPSing pretty much, with lots of Placate -> Burst. Yes, your damage will feel a bit less than a scrappers for the most part, but stalkers can still put out good DPS.

    3) I'm enjoying my Stalker! It's a Scrapper with a bit more risk! Less health to cover your butt, when things start to go south. I'd say it has the stealth going for it, but I can think of quite a few high level enemies that can see through my Stalkers hide + stealth IO :/ Rikti Drones, Knives of Artemis, and Rularuu. Not to mention on a lot of enemy maps, my Scrapper could just run through the map to the end, no problem.

    Still having a blast though!

EB's are intended to be a fight one can handle while solo. Unfortunately my experience with most of them is that a Stalker isn't exactly the greatest at taking those down either.

Even more depressing is my /Traps Cor probably takes down an EB in the same time as my Stalker would, but gets to do it in complete safety before drawing any agro at all.
The problem with this theory, is Scrapper still take down EBs just as fast, if not faster, and safer.

    At least mine did.

That said, I've continued to see Stalkers do just fine. Would I like a boost in damage? YES! I won't lie.

Are they going to be looked at on some teams as less than good? Yes. People will look at Stalkers, hen look to the Scrapper or Brute and say "can get more orange numbers and better survivability from the equally enhanced toon"

That said, I've still been invited along on lots of things with my Stalker.

    So, Chuck?

I've enjoyed both episodes so far.

While I haven't really been dissappointed with an episode of Chuck, to be fair, not all where OMG!

To me, Chuck tends to stay really good with moments of awesome!

Now obviously we see Sarah seem to freak out on a comment, that I don't think Chuck meant to be serious. Likely to cause some fears in her, is my guess.
  18. Is he fixing the Special Editions Episodes 4-6, when he puts them in 3D?

Like get rid of Jaba from Episode 4? Give back the original song at the end of Episode 6? Ect...ect...

Nin can do almost everything that SR can do except the scaling resists and defense debuff resists but you have a heal and caltrops to make up for that. Soft capping is easier than ever since the alignment system so thats definately something to shoot for in the future. The only other secondary I would touch at the moment is WP but thats only with alot of IOs spec towards melee defense and recharge. I think the other secondaries might get easier once we get inherrent stamina and I have more build space to squeeze in tough and weave to make them more survivable. For primaries only pick the ones with 2 or more aoes or 1 that has a gimmick to it. On my ninja blade stalker I have the pbaoe sets that are for recharge and I get alot of GD and FS during the fights. If only stalkers got lotus drops I would have the perfect toon. I can see possibly working martial arts in now because you get one of the highest damaging attacks that can crit now. The only problem is the insane recharges. You pretty much have to spec for recharge if you want to leverage that some what.
Melee defense on WP? It's a typed defense set.

Not many Khelds around though, unsurprisingly. May have to pencil one in for my next alt (must... stop... rolling... alts...)
Oh I'm sure they're out there, and it just may be what I've been searching for to cause me to see it that, as I have been doing a lot of lvl 40/45+ TFs as of late (this includes all the Shadow Shard TFs)
  24. The melee ATs always seems to feel the most heroic, in that they they aren't squishie.

It also sounds like you want want can be considered the less lethal of the sets...

Super Strength, Stone Melee, Energy Melee, Kinetic Melee, and Electric Melee have that, while maintaining a super power feeling (Mace as a weapon is why I didn't put it in).

For the defense options, anything but Dark Armor or Fire Armor.
