I'd like Concealment to be included with the City Traveler vet reward so that I can choose to skip Stealth/Grant Invisibility on certain toons so I can straight pick up Invisibility then Phase Shift. As is, I have concepts for several characters that Phase Shift fits but needing to pick up 2 powers to get it is a hefty price. I can see picking up Stealth or Invisibility but not both >_>
What would be a good idea, is to allow the Concealment Pool to stack with all other forms of Stealth, much like how it stacks with Stalkers Hide.

So many times I've wanted to take the Concealment Pool on Power set combos that I just didn't because Stealth and Invis become almost useless to me, if I have, for example, Shadowfall.

I have Shadowfall, Stealth just became useless. Invisibility may become useless if I stack Shadowfall with a Stealth IO or Super Speed, but I'd really love to have Phase Shift to go with that ghost concept.

So I think just allowing Stealth/Invisibility to stack with all powerset Stealth powers, is the way to improve the set.

I have a lot of characters that make use of bases as Secret Lairs and this idea would screw that up.
How does this suggestion make all your characters in the same SG?

Let's say you have 36 characters on the server. Each could belong to a different SG or you could have 1 in one SG and 35 in another SG, but it wouldn't count as 35 out of 150 members total.

That's what the OP is saying when suggesting tying membership to one's global.

    I'm for this. /signed

And this will take even longer so you'll need to do even more grinding than if you did the task forces and strike forces.

I'm going to be honest, the fact that it requires a team is not the biggest problem I have with all of it. What I really do not like is that I've found the only way to get anything is to grind, grind, grind on that grind mill. Want a particular badge? Grind a specific mission till it makes you puke. Want a new power? see the above.
    Since when is doing a 30minute - 2 hour TF, once a week, a grind? o.O

You only get one Notice of the Well a week.

    5 slots: 1.88% AoE defense
    6 slots: 1.88% Smashing/Lethal defense.

    What do you think?

The set bonuses shouldn't be too powerful, and I see it as a 30-50 Rare set, possibly with the Acc/Dam being Uncommon.
The IOs themselves don't seem to bad, and the -resist proc wouldn't be all that in a Targeted AOE set imo.

The bonuses I'd likely do dfferently. Yes, I'd like to see 1 Targetted AOE set that has a Defense bonus to it, but something more useful than those

That aside, something different may be to have the 6 bonus be a good +Resist bonus that's worthwhile going after.
  6. Sooo...

Grab that Hold. Slot it up with a Hold set and all the procs that can add (4 damage procs and a +2 to Mag proc), use it with the hold in the Primary (for Trollers) for 2 ST holds, then stack on the Trick Arrow Hold for an additional hold!

Gran that Hold. Slot it up as mentioned before, then combine it with Petrifying Gaze, Ice Blast Hold, Epic Pool hold, for a total of 4 holds firing off to keep the mag high!

Those could likely be reasons they don't do this.

I can imagine some Dominations going "Yes please, I'd love another ST hold that has it's mag doubled when I hit Domination, which by the way, I have perma"

That would be 3 holds on a /Earth Assault Dominator.

Also, you say generic, but look at how people complain about the generic animations of some of the pool powers.

I want a self heal, but I hate the tri corder.

I want the hold, but using a bola doesn't fit with my concept.

    See?

(non SG mode,) you'd get all the recognition. But if you take a step back and say "But I couldn't have done it without the support of Hero People!" (SG mode) they get a spot in the limelight as well.

(What *would* make more sense with that sort of thing, though, is a "notoriety meter," which fills somewhat slowly as you do good things and can provide you with a (quickly disappearing) discount ... or you can turn it in for more Prestige or special items for the SG.)

What I *do* see as particularly pointless is the "Top 100 list" at the registrar. Some group has more Prestige earned... so what? Doesn't mean they're actually a good group. That whole interface needs revamped anyway (for finding a group, contacting leaders, etc) but that won't happen - the devs need to find a way to whip up a 300 person raid for some bit of salvage, after all.
The Top 100 list is a good way of finding some possibly active SGs fast (as you have to be active to have obtained that prestige).

And a "List all SGs" button could easily have WAY to many SGs for someone to want to bother with it.

Now admittedly, some of the higher ranked SGs could all of a sudden stop and possibly stay in that position for sometime, but I think you see what I'm saying.

Before it might have been something to mention, but now with all the AE farms that happened, a lot of that prestige count can be attributed to that (and I know of some players who farmed some of those AE exploits purely for lots of quick prestige...though it was a rarity from what I saw), so it ca be seen as less of a "Oh yeah!" type of deal.

To me, the bio field should not be an explanation so much as it should serve as inspiration, and in a more complex character, there just isn't enough room.
I hate replacing "and" with "&" feels like something's wrong with the bio, when I use that to save on room.

Don't even think we need it doubled. 512 more characters would go a long way imo.
  10. Unless it allows me to go to the market while faceplanted to buy a wakie when I need it, I really don't see the usefulness of it.

You don't even get recipe drops untill you start taking on level 10 mobs. And I guess one can say, well, I PL my toons. But if that's the case, then wouldn't you be basically, drop obtained must sell, stopping the PLing to access the market?

Now it might be useful when waiting to start a TF and everyone needs to show up in zone, or you're at a mission entrance waiting for everyone to arrive.

It's a vet reward. It's a vet reward that really doesn't break anything and not something anyone really needs.

Now I'm not against it becoming available some other way (I don't even get the vet reward for a year) but out of all the vet rewards, this being the one made available through other means is the least on the scale that should happen.

I'm more inclined to believe a new player might quit due to being locked out of certain costume pieces through vet rewards than this minor QoL vet reward that many people wouldn't likely use.

Now Belly Shirts and Hacker Design being locked out untill (15 months I believe) is something to quit over! Trench coats, demon and angel wings are in the same boat, as with all other costume pieces obtained through vet rewards.

As long as they keep away from putting in costume pieces I may want as a vet reward, all is good imo!

I paired up my claws/WP scrapper with a spines scrapper for much of the weekend. It was a surprisingly good pair up. Bosses stood up but LT's and Minions died in droves. I think the two work really well together.

Nice job on the Gladiator's.... what are those going for now?
Eh, probably to much. 2billion on market, like Werner said, or more off market.

I just worked hero tips for the two I have. I don't mind working towards them. I was actually going to save this 2nd one I had for a different toon, but then decided...Spines/Elec...made into an AV soloer...can it be done. I haven't heard of anyone doing it. I should try!
  12. Due to work, I wasn't able to get a lot of time in :/ However, I did get my new project, a Spines/Elec up to level 30.

I wanted something different. Something you don't see often (or at least I haven't). Then I want to IO it out to the gills! I've already started in fact.

Energize is 5 slotted with Doctored Wounds. Steadfast and Gladiator's +3% Defense slotted. Winter's Gift slotted (who doesn't want additional Slow Resist, especially when you get 40% with a power pick! ).

Haven't decided if I'll slot the level 30 Kismet I have sitting around or get a lvl 10-15 Kismet.

My only regret so far. Not enough slots yet!

For your scenario, realize that's a separate occurrence. And it's quite possible for your rogue friend to have an ancient computer/dinky internet, and the issue becomes multiplicative.

The other aspect that comes to mind is that it's far more likely for one of the group to have an O-portal off cooldown, than it is for the individual rogue to have a wentworth port off cooldown. It is still a nice fix, just may led to more frustration, especially on a heavy travel TF.

Another power that is universally useful to those seeking to reduce load times, Mission Teleporter .
Fair to your team members? That's some pretty impatient team members if they can't wait a minute.
  14. Hmmm...I've only seen this problem when my rogue had to get to PI.

Now I'm all for allowing Rogues/Vigilantes access to bases, but I haven't really seen this big problem either.

So you're the last to arrive at the mission? o.O Well someone had to be last.

    Spines/Elec gives lots of END!

    Spines/Fire gives lots of DMG!

    Spines/Dark gives lots of CTL!

Went Spines/Elec as my new scrapper because it gives me the END, the +RCH from LR, and I think I can push that ST DPS up there and support it!

If insps are used I think it's better to stay at 20% to all and just go all out (as much as you can, anyway) on damage and recharge. One luck would be enough most of the time, and eventually add a second one if the AV hits you with high damage attacks two times in a row (first hit you heal up with Energize, second one it's better to take a luck as to avoid a third hit that might kill you).
Was that 20% Defense to all positions or 20% to Melee?

Well, looking at it, it also seems Impale -> Ripper -> Throw Spines -> Repeat is better DPS than Lunge -> Impale -> Ripper -> Throw Spines -> Repeat.

And with Electric Armor's Lightning Reflexes, I can pull that chain off.

I may not want to use an Epic Blast at all now as I think about it.

So the next question would be, how much Defense would one want on an Electric Armor, to stay alive during AV fights?

You have a point with that, and that was something I hadn't thought about. :O

So the question would become, would Lunge with Hecatomb slotted be better than any of the blasts without a purple proc in them!
  19. Okay, here I am, planning a new Scrapper. As always, my plan is to solo AVs. What I need to know though is which Epic Blasts can I use in place of Lunge (that's right, my goal is to make a Spines Scrapper an AV soloer).

Right now, if my math is correct (it may not be, as I could be wrong on how often Damage Auras tick...Quills and Lightning Field) I should be at around 149 (sans any procs) DPS.

My goal is of course to get even higher DPS than that

Lung however is the weak link! And since Spines doesn't suffer from redraw like all the other sets, if I put a blast in there instead, I can push past 150.

Even better news...every single blast in the Epics (Anicillary and Patron) fits with the concept! So, what I want to do is figure out which blasts beat out lunge in DPS and decide from there

However, last I knew, MiDS was wrong on all the single target blasts in the epics. :/

[QUOTE=Xetrov;3453709]Don't worry about the long posts, I find them enjoyable ^^

How does this build look now? With 4 LotG: 7.5%, there's a 0.12 second gap in the Blinding Feint -> Attack Vitals cycle, but that should be okay, right? Until I can get my hands on those four LotG's, I plan on using a regular EndRed IO in place of the Rech IO in Blinding Feint, and use BF -> AV -> PS instead. The end drain seems to be a bit high, draining more than double the amount of end I get per second (not counting Performance Shifter procs, I guess), without Sprint activated. Is this going to be a problem, or would the procs be enough to sustain me (assuming they proc once every 50 seconds)?

    *insert build here*

    [QUOTE]

I'd suggest slotting out Blinding Feint, Alabating Slice, Vengeful Strike, Sweeping Strike for full damage. Replace that Archille's Heel (not the -Resist Proc) with another multi-enhancement IO.

Tactics + Blinding Feint plus regular slotting should be enough ACC for you, I'd skip out on Focused ACC (but keep the Kismet if you can).

The recharge requirements for that aren't particularly high for an IO build, but if it's still out of reach due to other requirements, do what BrandX suggested and chain Blinding Feint -> Attack Vitals -> Power Slice. Properly slotted, either Attack Vitals chain should be fine for most AVs, just not some of the more lethal-resistant ones.
Saddly, BF->AV wasn't enough for Silver Mantis

That's two AVs I've failed so far on my DB/WP ... Silver Mantis (kept turning on Temp INV when she got down in health) and Diabolique (keeps phase shifting).

I'd count Romulus with his 3 Nictus AVs, but I haven't given up on beating him solo yet...I just need to seperate them better.

...on that note though...I'm getting abouyt 190 DPS on my DB/WP. Nilhii (hope I spelled that right, and I think that's the right poster) said they were getting around 195 with the same slotting (I was getting lag on my Pylon runs, which may be the reason there's the difference), but adding in Assault could bump up the DPS of that combo, maybe even a bit past 200 (with the right IOs in the build of course).

True believers, however, can perceive these panicked PR stunts by the desperate dinosaurs of the comic book-industrial complex for what they are.

Marvel and DC can neither move forward with new ideas because their financial model cannot abide by creator-owned characters, nor keep their old properties fresh and vital because that risks upsetting their financial model as well. These "death of" gimmicks seem like a subconscious admission that the joint holders of the "superhero" tradmark are unable to keep the legacy alive but subsequently have second thoughts after euthanasia. They are otherwise in the process of shifting their business away from the "newsstand" periodical format to publishing reprints and specials (you know, like normal publishers). In the meantime they have to resort to poorly conceived multi-arc crossovers and transparent stunts to generate attention for their flagging flagship monthly titles. Serial literature went through a not dissimilar upheaval with novels in the 19th century as the evolved from periodical publication to the single volumes, and pulp fiction in the 20th. Comics are the next format that will have to adapt, in their own way.

For my part, I'm just buying mostly independent, creator-owned comics where I can be assured of a beginning, a middle, and an end. Maybe it's time to purchase the paperback edition of Unstable Molecules - now that was an intriguing new take on the Fantastic Four.
Here's some of the problems with you last bit.

Besides the fact that some people don't want an end (thusly why it's stupid to kill off the A-Listers to begin with), the problem with creator-owned comics, is they don't for the most part END.

The creator moves on, but leaves other people in charge of the comic OR the comic just stops being done with no real end OR they just abrutly give it a crappy ending as they're tired of the comic or it's not making enough money.

What Marvel and DC need to do, is hire real writers who will actually STAY with a book. Not writers who work on it for 6 issues then move on because they don't want to stay on one book for so long.

It's a job. Hire someone to fill the job
