P.S. If anyone has a SS/Fire/Soul Brute or build out there if they could please post it up that would be much appreciated!
Well, there's something you're forgetting about when it comes to the Epics.

    LGTF and Hami Raids.

If you don't do them, well then, it doesn't really matter.

However, if you do, having a Hold power comes in handy, more so for the LGTF.

People are ignorant on KM and some even ignorant on Invul. I am fully spec'd into the build I posted for you, and while it isnt as bad *** as my WP is, it's still pretty sweet. Don't give up on it.
Interresting. At level 30, I tend to get the characters I have planned to use IO sets, slotted with IO sets (I use level 33s).

Also, Kinetic Melee, if you're going to use max level Kinetic Melee's can be slotted earlier than level 33, as they max out at level 35, so you can slot them as early as lvl 32 (thusly lvl 37 for the Reactive Armors as well).

To the OP, you haven't said what your build looks like.

It's one thing not to have Tough/Weave (two powers I'd personally take on an INV), but if you skipped Invincibility, or maybe Temporary Invulnerability, I could see people saying your build sucks.

They may also not have liked it if you skipped Taunt (not sure if you did), but there are people out there who think Brutes should take their taunt power, just as much as they think a Tanker should.

As for KM/INV, it's full of potential awesomeness!

No other set in the game can quite pull that off. And where SR really shines for Brutes is it neatly avoids Recharge Slows for the most part. Combine the recharge discount of Claws with Quick Reflexes...yeah, Claws/SR is awesome.

The thing they did with Brutes Claws that I like is made it slower and heavier hitting (slower recharge means more damage as you know). It's still fast, but not so fast that it feels too "clicky" (my one complaint about Stalker and Scrapper Claws).
They didn't adjust the animation times, so what exactly makes the Scrapper/Stalker version feel more clicky than the Brute version?
  8. I see nothing wrong with Johnny Depp and Tim Burton together again.

    Truthfully, I like it.

You have a good pairing, you should use it!

Right now, I have Speed (Hasten), Leaping (Combat Jumping), Flight (Fly) and Fighting (Boxing, Tough, Weave) as my Power Pools. I am thinking I'll need to invest into my Pools much more smartly if I want to achieve my goals.

That being said, here is my 'current' build to 50 (and the potential IO sets) if I were to maintain the current build.

For some reason, can't download your build.

That said, if you were to get all positional defenses to softcap, I wouldn't worry about the S/L Defense.

If you got the S/L Defense to softcap, I wouldn't worry about the positionals either.

I'd suggest picking one, and going for it.

On my Spines/Electric, I focused on Melee Defense, and didn't worry to much about any of the others. But that's Spines Primary, and going after S/L Defense is harder to do with so few worthwhile single target melee attacks.

Electric Armor has some decent Resists and a decent self-heal, and Power Drain works wonders on Minions - Boss level enemies for survival purposes.

    PVP IO Question

I'd get the -Resist Proc over the +3% Resist proc.

The +END/+Heal Proc isn't all that great, when compared to Performance Shifter, however, you can only fit in so many Performance Shifters, so adding in the Panacea Proc is even more yummy +END!

I don't understand why the +3% Resist goes for so much, but that might be because I hardly see it posted on any of the OMG BILLIONS OF INFLUENCE builds.

  12. Scenerio based PvP won't work, if no one likes the PvP rules.

It won't bring in new people. It won't get current people to play it, outside of a badge tied to the scenerio (which there had better be!), and once the badge is gotten, the badgers won't do it anymore.
  13. I expect better fight scenes than the Lynda Carter era Wonder Woman, and I want to see the moves she displays in Superman/Batman Apocalypse, Wonder Woman Animated Movie, basically, some of those wrestling moves that makes me cry that I can't perform them in CoH.

    Khtf

I figure they're just looking over the new average times.

Or rather, I really hope that's the case, as I didn't know about this change untill about 2-4 weeks ago.

And it's a TF I love to run pretty regularly, but hadn't since the change because, well, busy, but when I ran it and I saw this change I was all "OMG WTF!" can't even ATT her out!

And it took over 40 mins!

You know, I actually don't mind the war walls, at least you know where they are unlike the Blue War Walls of the End of Reality in some missions. Those are far more annoying to me.

There is no war wall on one end of Talos and it runs into Peregrine.
I've run into that thing and zone accidentally during a Rikti Raid while fighting Drop Ships. What a pain if you zone and you can't get into the zone you came out of because it is now full and you foolishly zoned only because you didn't now where the line of "zoning" was!
If we got rid of Statesman because a DEV took him as their name, would we get rid of Back Alley Brawler too?
  16. Hmmm...

...if we go how I see her, she'd have high defense, not elude status, but enough defense you'll want to have tohit buffs, increased regen, high S/L Resist, decent F/C Resist, subpar (maybe even no) E/N Resist, with a lot of slow resist and high END Recovery, with Taunt/Fear/Confuse Protection.

Access to Strength of Will (WP tier 9) which she uses whenever it's active after the first use which is at the 80-90% mark.

Now the fight starts out the typical okay gather around and beat her up!

She's going at it with Dual Blades, throwing out some -Resist and Electric Damage, with a Mu Shackles hold no redraw, with enough mag to upset the squishies with no mez protection.

Then at 75% Life, she switches from Dual Blades to Katana and begins to hit harder throwing out more -Defense and the -Resist and Electric Damage, not to mention the Mu Shackles.

At 50% life, she switches from Katana to Dual Pistols, do the same damage as with Katana, but now with range, she loses the Electric Damage part of the attacks, keeps the -Def and -Resist and gains Fire Damage, while still maintaining the Mu Shackles.

The real kicker? AI is smart enough to know when to use Hail of Bullets AND doesn't suffer from being locked in place while attacking.

At the 25% life mark, her Immobilize Protection doubles/triples.

    At 0%...SHE REZES just once.

The purpose...two really get people to diversify those builds! Those melee might just want to grab those hold/immobilize powers to stack with the Trollers/Doms/squishy ATs. She'd be easier to stack holds on with immobilizing being the much harder lock down.

To really make it perfect, at the 75%, 50%, and 25% marks, you see more and more damage...like she's fighting you with a hole in her chest.

To make it even MORE PERFECT...all Radiation Emission users get extra aggro once hit by any Rad Toggle. You think a shield scrapper pulling aggro off a tanker is impressive? Using a Radiation Toggle would have that Rad user pulling aggro off the shield users.

My Tanker lacks the damage to take down an AV, but she has faced, solo, the Clockwork King, the Honoree, Marauder, Malaise and Mother Mayhem, proving that these all lacked the damage to take her down, as well. Also, my Fire/Dark Corruptor couldn't kill Infernal (blasted high Fire Resistance), but he couldn't kill her, either.

    Does that count?
    Sure!

My reply was to Sam's post, which was a reply to mine from another (Techno's I believe).

Saying we get to beat up the big names in CoH, so we don't feel like a lackey like in some other game, I was just saying it's usually (not always, as people of course have builds that can solo AVs...but I'd say that's a minority) 8 vs 1 to take on those Big Names.

8 vs 1, to me anyways, doesn't seem like "Oh I'm so great and equal!"

Not to mention, depending on your build some AVs can be harder than others. Scirrocco, Recluses Lt...soloed...Silver Mantis, side kick to one of Recluses Lt. (Black Scorpion)...not soloed! Grrrr.

To my understanding, a lot of it's limitations come from the fact that they went console/pc, so had to limit lots of things to account for the console players.

On topic, I laughed my *** off at Yahtzee's review, and even considered posting it here, but decided against it. I love the praise he gives to City of Heroes as THE game to compare against, as well as praising it about its character creator in a roundabout way. However, much of the criticisms he levies against Dance Central Universe: Online also applies to City of Heroes: Online, and being the biassed hypocrite that I am, I chose to avoid bringing in an argument that could be turned around against me.

I always enjoy Yahtzee's videos, even when I disagree with him completely, because his blunt, unforgiving criticism often points out annoying problems in titles I like that even I can admit to and laugh at him for satirising. For instance, I liked Mass Effect 2, but the comment on the population of Titan Station being 75% under the age of 12 had me rolling in my chair. "I love mommy and being alive (my blood inside of me)" indeed
Bleh, doesn't count if they're ranked as EBs

Sounds all good, untill you realize MOST of the time, it isn't YOU beating up Recluse's lackeys, Recluse himself, or the big name Heroes.

It's you and a team of others doing it.

So it's not so much, "Ha! I'm strong!" as it is "Ha! You can't take us on 8 to 1!" ;p

Is Claws a good AOE Primary, when it has 1 AOE, and that's a ranged cone?
