Both were universe-wide retcons that allowed the writers to tell some new stories and some old stories over again.
While I didn't care for all the changes it made (Jubilee losing her abilities comes to mind), I actually liked them losing the "mutants are everywhere" "1 mutant for every 10 normal people" that was going on.

Mutants should of stayed the minority.

Wasn't that just part of the story arc, and in the end of the story arc, all returned to normal except for a bunch of mutants losing their mutant abilities.

Things are crazy when the RT rating gets as much press as it does. Heck, it even shows up in Roger Ebert's negative review of Thor:

"Here is a film that is scoring 79% on Rotten Tomatoes. For what? The standards for comic book superhero movies have been established by "Superman," "The Dark Knight," "Spider-Man 2" and "Iron Man." In that company "Thor" is pitiful. Consider even the comparable villains (Lex Luthor, the Joker, Doc Ock and Obadiah Stane). Memories of all four come instantly to mind. Will you be thinking of Loki six minutes after this movie is over?"

I would not agree with his assessment of Superman being a great film nor Gene Hackman's Luthor a great villain, but I liked the others. I therefore do not rely on Ebert's rating, either. He hated Green Lantern, and I had a good time overall. Not in the category above, more's the pity, but still enjoyable.
Agreed. I don't see how Superman is the standard. And personally, I enjoy Thor WAY more than I do Superman. And agreed on Lex Luther. Gene Hackman is awesome, but his Lex was...sadly didn't feel like Lex.

Or the league leader though, let's speed through this side, then jump over to the other side as a valid tactic.

That said, I've noticed the difference between a heavily Incarnate trial run and a low on Incarnates (or even just a mix of +1's and +0's) and the "Mostly +3's" but that's to be expected.

It's no different than running them and succeeding at them when they first cam out. A little rougher, but doable.

On the other hand, with the up-coming AoE buffs, it is more likely that you will get a buff from the buffers - their work will be easier and so likely that their will do it more regularly. So with a scrapper, you will still have good res buffs. Also, don't forget the Destiny buffs too.

So, in reality, both ATs are more or less even. Only a some unique settings can tell them apart. I personally prefer brute. I like watching my fury bar goes up - like I am working towards a goal for better damage.
With all those AOE buffs flying around, I'd think Brutes with their higher resist caps, and damage being pretty much equal, would win out in the end, under those situations.

Well, I'm not saying she couldn't use an update. I just think adding wings is just a terrible idea. And in fact, I like her cape.

But your redesign seemed less "superhero" and more " I'm getting married!" or "I'm an angel!"

I'd rather keep to the superhero look for the FP.

Of course, we shall see how Captain America does in July, then the Avengers and Dark Knight Rises next year.
Beginning of the end of big-budget superhero movies? They're already planning Thor 2 and Captain America 2, and I have full faith in seeing Captain America be this big hit.

X-Men (while I enjoyed the movie) had a few things going against it, and it was going to be hard to break past it. First there was X3. Then there was the fans (face it, some fans were not going to give X-Men FC a chance with how far off from comics that it was). And third, which I havent seen mentioned, it was set in the 60's. This will likely not be a problem for Captain America. But for X-Men, I think it may have caused some issues for one reason or another.

And we've already seen a few ont he forums say "Rotten Tomatoes rated it at 20%, so I'm skipping it" now add to that for wider population, and more so with the economy and some people not wanting to risk seeing a movie based purely on critics.
  8. I think GL's lower weekend take was more due to reviews than it's subject matter. The one review I heard over the radio, the reviewer admitted to reviewing it based on previous superhero movies (and thusly reviewed it poorly).

Personally, I want to see a sequal, but if it doesn't bring in enough I just hope DC doesn't go, scrap any of the other characters outside the main two of getting a movie.
  9. While I don't try to fail them...in fact last LGTF I ran, I lead both Glacia and Inferna out solo, just because I didn't like to see them just be killed off

I do agree though, make them rescue and then follow instead of rescue and lead out.

Penny. Agreed, doesn't make since for them to attack her, but it could just as easily be the games way of saying "Clockwork are trying to capture her".

Though on many teams, I never see her die, as someone uses Recall Team to get her out safely, so not as big of a concern imo (this also seems to be the fastest way imo, as a lot of times, trying to get her killed can take forever).

Valkyire is a girl who wears a full suit of armour (Which in itself is part of the bulk) and wields a damn big sword one handed like its nothing. She's going tp have some muscle on her.
Not look like a dman stick insiect in tin foil >_>

And yes, Psyche's face I couldn't get to look right. She needs a unique render. They all do.
First let me say, the thin waist you say is anorexic is just typical comic book style art style. So, I don't think one should ever be all "She looks like so and so" This is superhero stuff.

Now that that's said, your redesign of Valkyrie isn't to bad, but lose the chin guard whatever it is you used. It looks aweful.

Maybe shorten Swan a bit, but darken her skin tone a bit to make the white show more, but let's not touch her outfit and turn it into a dress. :/

  12. Speed Zone/SpeedZone/Speed-Zone
    Back Alley Hitman
    Soul Creeper/SoulCreeper/Soul-Creeper
  13. I'll put the vote in for Katana/ELA.

Like mentioned, lots of Energy Damage in the late game content.

That aside however, it's a powerset I just don't see in use often. So it'll be a bit unique amongst all those Shield Scrappers.

I'd also go with the Cardiac. Lets you not need to rely on Power Sink as an END REC tool (if you don't already all the better) and more as a END Sapping Defense power, and the +Resistance will be a bit better.

2nd nomination goes to the Spines/Dark. Cardiac to help with those end needs, not a build I see often, Cardiac adds to the resists, and you get more AOE. And you can have some decent ST DPS if you build for it.
  14. Seeing as how the ring was sent out to find someone without fear and is worthy in the DC universe...why didn't it go and grab Bruce Wayne?
  15. I'd put The Crow on my top ten personally.

  17. SS/FA, with the right build it could solo AVs and you bring all that yummy damage! And it's fun to play!
  18. That's what they should do! I like it! Make Shards tradeable! Not Threads. Keep those bound on pickup, but shards, make them tradeable, but only for level 50s!

Its not that I hate RPers, its I have delt with them all and choose not to deal with ____'s
You make a valid point. But then I think, if that's their main, why would they want them to be arrested/killed? If that happens, their main character (maybe only) becomes unplayable.

A person's main character is usually a lot like the big named main characters of comics. You know how people complain when comic book companies do the whole "Batman DIES" storylines, but everyone knows that's not true.

Yeeeaaah. They complain about it then, no reason to complain about someone not doing that whole hookey storyline in their RP.

Of course, this is also why I prefere not to RP villains. You know you're destined to lose. No matter how hard you try, you can not RP your villain taking over the world. Your villains can not take over Arachnos, kill any signature character, ect...ect...at most, they can be a successful thief, and maaaybe mass murderer of innocent people if they want to stretch it

i.e. Caios has a character Named Karnage who was a very special kind of 'Jerkwad'. however, three things about Karnage which makes my point.

    1. Not even close to a main Character.
    2. Was not a racists but an equal opportunity mass murderer.
    3. was only really played for the purpose of RP events.

*Caios was the Cowgirl Vampire Character in the Original Guardian Angels.
*Karnage was the Arch-Villain for said Caios.
*the person who played Caios is a very close friend of mine, and the reason why I play COH.

My point being that if you are doing a staged production where you are playing a Racist ******* no problem. If you play a racist ******* as a main you have issues.

Also I have to point out My Character Tiburon Hates Mutants, Aliens and Magic Users. He is also a Main Character. He is not racist against any real population group.
To be a racist against your own real population group. Hmmm...not many racists are racist against their own populations group.

Also, hating mutants, aliens and magic users wouldn't be racists, as those are not races.

Now reasons to RP such a character, and have it be your main...because no one else is!

You get a free respec when you do the patron pools, so you wouldn't have to runa respec trial. Just have to do the tips.

But if I'm going to grind through missions, I don't want the added nuisance of teaming dumped on top of it.

We'll get more ways to get our threads. I hope that the entire shard business is tossed and threads take their place. It was a very bad decision to leave the shard junk in the game at all. The conversion rates are beyond idiotic.
I don't know. 10 Shards for 10 threads, once every 20 hours. I have no problem with that conversion rate.

And I don't feel like I'm grinding for shards, since I can get them doing whatever content I want.

And like you said in a previous post, I don't think the point was to get every lvl 50 incarnated to tier 4's in no time flat.

Since incarnates came out, I've had three of my 30+ 50's become incarntes. One just became an incarnate and I ended it there (admittedly due to me not playing it anymore).

Then there's my namesake who has Tier 4 Alpha, and 1 Tier 4 (Interface) and 3 Tier 3's (the rest of them).

Now I admit on my namesake, I'd likely be at tier 4s now, but I know I'll end up rerolling my namesake into a different AT, as I love DB/ but /WP, while as tough as I want the character to feel, doesn't have the right feel to it (but it's the closest I can figure out right now).

My newest Incarnate is my namesake's praetorian double! SS/FA/Soul Brute. Tier 3 Alpha so far, Tier 3 Interface, still unlocking everything else, and I haven't rushed any of the trials for them.

I've done about 2-3 trials, about every other day, and while I can't wait to get Void Judgement and Ageless (maaaybe Rebirth) on it, I see no reason to grind the trials to get there. Especially since, the trials don't require you to have them that high of level.
  23. The answer is simple. Don't grind them.

There are other (obviously more slower) ways to work on getting the incarnate abilities and not just burning yourself out, on trials.

  25. I've played all ATs to 50 except the Kheldians, and out of all my 50's, over half is melee, and almost half of them are Scrappers.

Scrappers/Brutes/Stalkers are the only ones who feel comic book superhero worthy to me. Blasters faceplant to much, there really aren't Healing types in comics...ect...ect...
