WW's outfit doesn't look bad. I just hate it for the reason I see them changing it. :/ It's not a "Oh this would be an awesome outfit" it's a "We can't have her in a bikini style outfit"

Superman's outfit doesn't look bad, but it does look like he's wearing some added armor, and it makes me think "Why would Superman need armor?"

Don't care for Cyborg's chin gaurd either.

Glad to see Power Girl is around though I wonder if they changed her too.

    So seriously...
The only problem I'm seeing with this line of thinking is...isn't this what people have said they wanted? If they're going to kill off the hero, REALLY DO IT!

Now, do I think it's stupid that they did it? Oh hell yes. Peter Parker is Spider-Man. However, at least they REALLY did it when they said they would.

Those standards are set in place by the average quality or by the level of quality something should meet if one studied it. And further, standards are always going up due to technology and people competing with each other... or at least they should be.

The ones you have to be worried about is when someone says that you shouldn't compare. If something is good or right it should be able to stand up to scrutiny of any sort.
    Valid point.

And watching GL, I just don't see the 20% rating as being anywhere near accurate with the film.

I'm not saying this was the best film or even best Superhero film.

It however, was nowhere near the travesty of a film that rating entails it to be.

    20% is basically saying it's a 2 out 10 rating. At minimum it's a 5, and I'd more likely give it a 7.5.
  5. He was the best of the FF. He was awesome in Losers. I don't really recall SPvsTW as I thought so little of the movie as I watched it (I really don't see the hype of this movie outside of a few funny scenes).

Enjoyed him in his other movie rolls as well.

I can see why he wanted to say no. I'd say it was more than the typecasting it may cause, but more of this big name Super Hero and it really is all on him.

That's just it. Look at other genre of films.

You don't see "Well this comedy was better, so don't see this one. Oh also, because of that we're rating the movie so low as to give it reviews that say it's unwatchable."

I mean really...20% on Rotten Tomatoes...it wasn't anywhere near that bad of a film.

    Powerset Respecs

If people are worried about people leveling one character and then just paying money out to respec it over and over, could just limit it to a certain number of times per account/character/whatever.

A one time purchase for one character per account! Or a one time purchase per character. So they couldn't do it over and over again (and hey they may even regret it) but it would give some an opportunity to keep their badges on a character they possibly like the concept of but not the powersets.

Not a FF kiddie, but havealways wanted a Buster Sword! Don't have to be a FF kiddie to want an OMG AWESOME HUGE SWORD!

I always thought this was a good idea.

No need for the clones to have the exact powers of the original toon.

Illusion, they could still go around with PA/Phantom Army powers, just look like whatever costume you're wearing.

Same for any of the pets.

I'd love it for some of the Lore Pets as well.

Seeing as we dont have that im trying to come up with some power sets that could mimic it.

Im quite inclined to wait for time manip and see what that holds....

i was thinking something along the lines of a mind/kin troller, energy/kin corr, maybe rad emission. Im not sure.

    Any suggestions?
RAD would work well for such a thing.
  12. I'm hoping for a lot of PBAOE toggle/clickie effects, with a couple clickie debuffs (AOE or ST)

For one, because I want to beable to solo and not pick a power were I can't use it on my own toon (Shield sets, SB, ect come to mind).

Also no annoying strobe effects (ala World of Confusion...Id use that power if it wasn't for it's strobbing effect...I don't mind Sonics or others...but WoC's just...well I can't play it long )

Clickie AOE Heal or Toggle Regen Power

Stealth + Positional Defense Toggle (no typed defense...none) with a huge Slow Resist (maybe other things, don't know) or something akin to Dispersion Bubble, so no stealth effect, but still just Positional Defense and no Typed Defense.

A +RCH toggle power would work with the theme too. Probably wouldn't want it on par with Hasten...so thinking 25%

Basically I'm thinking a lot of "Stay within the Time Bubble aka stay near me" type of buffs.

The Crow is not like Superman or whatnot - it's not the same person every time. It's not one individual. It's a different person with a different story and a different reason for coming back (well, other than "to set something right / revenge.") Do a fifth Crow, sure - been waiting for it for a while (and for some time there was talk of the fifth Crow movie having a female Crow.) "Reboot/remake?" No.
While I enjoyed 2 and 3 (havent seen 4th) I bet they're thinking "We need Eric Draven in it to get people to show up" instead of "We need to make these movies AWESOME!"

Basically their thinking is the sequals werent successes due to no Eric Draven.

Though, that said, it might just be a difficult hero (or heroes) to pull off successfully in a movie you want to make mainstream.

    You're looking at it wrong.

    They're not giving a 4th Sword set.

They're giving us a BUSTER SWORD POWER SET! \o/

Not to step on Kinetics toes - I do think that any Regen/Recovery effects that can be seen will be nothing compared to Kinetics'.

    I envision powers like....

1] A PBAoE toggle power that has a Slow and -Recharge effect to all foes in the area.
2] A PBAoE click or toggle buff that increase the defense of you and all your allies.
3] A teleport power that teleports you into the combat (sort of like Lightning Rod or Shield Charge). However, instead of doing damage, all foes around you may be Held and otherwise face a major Slow effect. Sort of like "stopping time."
4] A clone-pet power that lasts for a little while.
5] A PBAoE click power that increases movement speed and maybe recharge times (maybe not quite as good recharge reduction as to not to steal from Speed Boost there is a target required - or maybe just a self-buff instead of a team buff?)
6] An targeted enemy intangible power - sort of like Dimension Shift in Gravity Control?

    Unsure on the rest.

I am really hoping for a travel-power from it though. I really enjoy Siphon Speed on my Grav/Kinetics controller (who is time-traveler themed), so I would like to have a self +movement speed power. I use Hover + Siphon Speed and can hit the flying speed cap!
This is a bit closer to what I envision. I'd actually love more of a self toggle buff/debuff set, so they character needs to be more up close with the enemy.

In an earlier trailer they showed the exact same scene with him in the alley getting beat up and saying "I can go all day." (or some such, I may have misquoted) as a skinny kid.

So, I don't see why you'd think he'd be a scared little kid who becomes a hero. With that scene alone it seemed like a "little kid who wasn't afraid to get his butt kicked"
  18. Actually, I'm not finding the AE farms as bad as they used to be.

I mean sure, now they have the S/L or Fire Farms. But these are basically missions setup to cater to a specific sets strengths.

That S/L Farm, it only works if you have the defense to survive it. You're not going to see level 1's entering the map and then killing everything in relative safety.

Now, one could do it with the Fire Farms, but that's with a Fire Armor Brute/Tank MAYBE Scrapper. So they're really just limiting their own build choices if all they make is Fire Armor to get to 1-50 solo and quickly.

Now one can say "But the lowbies have lvl 50's PLing them" to which I just think, "And that's different from what in the last 7 years? When people were going to PI to get PLed."

But they didn't. They're making a Time Manipulation set. Which isn't a Control Set, but a buff/debuff set.

Eh...then the set starts to sound to much like Kinetics. Which gives +END/+RCH.

I say give us the +RCH and lets us fix our end issues with slotting/accolades.

If they put their effort toward a Radiation or Plant set I have no doubt it would be more creative than what you're saying they would be. What I'm saying is I think they should put their efforts toward something other than an area we already have a thousand options in.

How many options does a player have if they want to use a smash/lethal modern weapon? Three ranged, six melee (soon to be seven), and three extras in Masterminds. Of all those, three (four soon) are just swords. But what options does a player have if they want do control radiation, plants, or gravity? Basically 1-2 options max, across all ATs and options, not even limiting it to subsets like "melee only." Just Scrappers alone have more options for swords than you can find for something like illusion across every AT.

The same issues plague concepts like Earth or Psi. They're good ideas that don't stretch to a wide variety of ATs or powersets. If you want Earth you pretty much have Doms, Tanks, and Brutes. You can put Earth on Controllers, but can't pair it with anything. And as there's no Earth Blast, Earth Minions, or Earth Support, your options are highly limited. Psi doesn't show up at all in melee classes. So I feel it's strange to repeatedly expand on something that's already well-represented while not fleshing out things that could use work.

And I don't doubt the devs have the creativity to come up with even more options than that, giving us something more unique that isn't just a melee version of an already exiting concept. During one of the votes one of the options was electric hammer, which would've at least been more interesting than another sword set. And they've put out things like Kin Melee. They could come up with something completely unique like, say, a melee set where you attack using a swarm of insects.

And as long as we're at "settle for X and pretend it's Y," why not just add new models and use Broadsword or Katana instead of making a new big sword set? And then put effort toward something that really needs more options, like Manipulation and Assault sets.
truthfully. I asked for huge weapon models for those two sets already.

But okay I can see where you're going with this. New creative sets. Something different. How would you do them then?

I mean, Plant melee, seems like it would have a lot of range in it, and thusly not melee (as was pointed out many time to me, if a set has range it's not melee...just look at the Sword and Pistol Powerset in the suggestion forums).

Unless of course, we're just hitting people with thorns. Then yes, might as well keep to claws or spines.

But I think Plant Melee, I think some long whipping vines.

Which would lead me to saying, give me Fire Whip as an option. And a whip is a melee weapon with extended range. It wouldn't be a blast set.

That way, it could be used for people that want to keep their badges while requiring the person to learn the new aspects of the power at an accelerated leveling rate.
Hmmm...if it allowed you to change ATs as well, i'd pay the 50 I suggested to do it, just to keep my badges!
