Truthfully, never actually had a problem with a comic book character not aging myself. But the 100 issues gives the best use of it imo.

Really. I don't want my Spider-Man, Captain America, Batman, ect ect to be old and dead. By what everyone has suggested for aging of heroes...we'd have no Batman. We'd have no Spider-Man. We'd have none of the current favorites.

Except for Superman and Wonder Woman.

This causes contradictions. Example: in the 80's the Avengers comics reference Ronald Reagan; currently they could go Pay Barrack Obama a visit, yet we're supposed to buy that they only aged a couple of years.

I prefer mini-Series type comics that are self-contained, like Watchmen. Over the course of that series, we glimpsed the lives of characters over a relatively small window of time during a pivotal event. And now that story is done.
The problem they have here, is they never should of used the real presidents to begin with in their universe.

Really, how hard is that to understand?

Did everyone used to consider that their REGENS glowed green anytime they used the powers?

Of course they didn't. They knew it was just a visual cue that they had used a power.

I hear these stories of awesome stormies who know how to really use Hurricane to the best of it's abilities.

My experience has always been with stormies who clicked it on full time either stood in the back blasting, using Hurricane as a shield, or they were the type to jump right into the middle and scatter everything with the belief that the -tohit made it okay.

You bend the energy to reflect the light around you, thusly becoming invisible to everyone around you.

    Does that help you?

    Same works for Electric Armor.

    (I kid, I kid.)

I really hope you are wrong. Not because I dislike Stalkers... but instead due to the characterization of how the Devs will be making decisions on this Freedom thing. I hope they are making decisions based on how it will impact the feel and aesthetics of their game moreso than just pure dollar signs. Am I being too much of an idealist to believe they will never give this set to Stalkers because it is even more illogical than Elec. Armor?
Eh, I don't know. I don't see why the Buster Sword can't be used bya stalker. They're only stealthy up to the point of assassin strike, then they melee it out.
  10. I agree with both a Vanguard and Rularuu Titan Weapon!

Just remember devs! No scaling to size of the model!

Okay while I wish the slider could go farther to the left, I have to agree with a previous poster. If the difference is between the adding this or spending time on more content (awesome TFs, storyarcs, powersets, maybe even new epic ATs), I'd rather have the new content.

And more poly count, wouldn't that make it harder on older computers?

I love the art style of a new mmo World that I've Forsaken due to it's way to easy of play and limited character customization, however it's art style would have been awesome with CoH imo.

I thought it was more than just Castle.

In fact, I specifically recall it being said many in the dev community said it didn't make sense, and many players who didn't think it made sense.

But then of course, there's always players who want many things that don't tend to make sense, or can make sense, but limits the concepts a lot of such sets.

As cool as it is to see Coyote in the tutorial, it seems odd that as much impact as the player had on the community, his memorial is limited to an NPC you talk to once and forget about for the rest of the game. Not even a mention aside from one mission taking place in the same zone. What happened? Is every hero's first day the day Coyote's warranty expires? Does he get sucked into a vortex the moment you choose your first trainer?

It doesn't sound right that the Freedom Phalanx can memorialize fallen heroes with ENORMOUS statues, but don't stop to remember the guy training the heroes backing them up. A moment of reflection to their days as a rookie. A mention of watching him AS a rookie help fellow newbies learn the ropes. Debating whether they should get him anything for his birthday or send him a card. Something to acknowledge that this person that everyone meets on day one actually exists beyond day one.

On that note, I'd also vote for replacing one of the bronze status in City Hall, possibly one of the ones in the corridor leading to the origin contacts, with one of Coyote. As if Coyote's somehow "leading" new heroes in the right direction and "watching" them dash off to met their first days on the job.
He has himself a Praetorian double.
  14. 1) Quick Healing - Clickie AOE Heal (20ft Radius otherwise equal to Healing Aura)

    1) Time Bubble - Toggle (20ft Radius, 25% +RCH/+SPD, 25% Slow Resist)

    2) Slow Crawl - Targeted AOE Debuff (-90% Run/Jump Height/Jump Speed/Fly, -5 to Max Run Speed, -50% RCH. -10% Defense 20ft Radius)

    6) Temporal Mastery - Toggle (20ft Radius +7.5 - 10% Positional Defense, NO Typed Defense, 60% Slow Resist, 20% S/L/Energy or Psi Resist with Stealth Component...OR instead of Damage Resists, Hold/Immobilize/Disorient Mez Protection...Stealth Component added on with the Mez Protection MAYBE. Basically something in the vein of Shadowfall, Arctic Fog, Steamy Mist, or a smaller Dispersion Bubble)

    8) Time Jump - Clickie (A combination of Phase Shift + Fly, duration of 15-20 seconds on Phase + Fly Time, with a 5 second Hover Speed, 1 second Recharge of Power doesn't stack. This is essentially a Travel Power)

    12) Temporal Disruption - Toggle (Single Target, -300% Regen, -15% Recovery, -50% Spd/RCH - SPECIAL All Other Debuffs on Target are magnified/enhanced)

    18) Temporal Breakdown - Toggle (20ft AOE, -20% DMG, -20% RES, pretty similar to Enervating Field, but slightly larger AOE to keep with the Time Bubbles being a 20ft area)

    26) Temporal Empowerment - Clickie (PBAOE 20ft Radius, +10% Positional Defense, +50% Regen, +25% RCH, 25% Slow Resist, +Perception SPECIAL All Other buffs on targets are magnified/enhanced...2minute duration with 6minute Recharge...recharge is a fixed rate.)

    32) Rewind Time - PBAOE Rez (Useable on defeat only, rezs you and everyone within a 20ft Radius - 15second untouchable phase)

Here's what I was thinking for the set, with a few changes after talking to a SG member.

really, I want more of a useful for solo like Dark Miasma, than a buff only for allies type of set.

Doing this retroactively is probably even less likely than the Null the Gull path, and it's sad that they've considered it, found it feasible to some degree, and rejected it.
I disagree with this. I see no problem with sets that do nothing but knockback. Why should it be limited to just one attack per set at most?

Because yyou don't like it? Maybe others do like it.

I think it's great. Some sets you're going to love the animations and hate the effects. Other sets it's going to be reversed.

The secret, is to either live with it, or find one that has both parts that you love.

I don't care for Shields because I consider shields to be a minor roll in super hero comics/modern day setting comics. Nevermind we have a to the past zone. It's a powerset that in comics is limited.

There's more Time Manipulators in superheroe comics, yet we get Shields first. There's other sets just the same.

Hell, they should make a Charged Object throw power set, because there's just as many of them in comics as there are superhero shield users.

I love the mechanical aspect of Shields. I don't play it.

The same is how it works for Energy Blast and Kheldians for everyone else. Don't like it. Don't play it.

I personally will continue to disagree with just being able to shut off EB's or Kheldians KB just because it annoys me (and yes, I've gotten annoyed by KBers before, but now I just accept it and chase the target).

The game, as Leo said, doesn't need to be this "gather in group, release the AOE" game.

But if we're going to go that route and get rid of KB in powers, can we get rid of aggro auras too? That way the enemies can attack the ones who are really the threat based on damage output and debuffing?

Be a little more like the comics I read, where none of them ever do the *grunt and motion with hands to come here* and all of a sudden everyone is on them. Instead they're likely to break off in groups and out number each hero 5 - 1.

Shield would be such a great set on Stalker because of Shield Charge. They could have modified just one or two powers to be stalker-friendly but they chose not to. They think having a Shield there means you can't "Hide". I never know they put that much emphasis on "theme". T_T I don't buy that Shield set doesn't work on Stalkers. That's BS. I bet they think Shield Charge is going to be too powerful for Stalkers because Stalker has one more aoe... oh my god, that is soooooooooo going to break the balance of this game.

They better give Stalker Titan and make sure it's worth it! They've modified Kinetic Melee to be very stalker-friendly and I am sure they can do it again too.
If Stalkers got shields, what makes you think they would of had Shield Charge in it?
  17. My suggestion. Look past them. They're more like "hey look you have this power activated" than "OH hey look you're sparkly like a vampire from twilight"

Not that I'm against the suggestion, but before power customization, this was a valid way to look at it. I know I didnt think my regen back in i3 didn't glow green in my mind.

    Or you'll need 20 dollars, 2 quaters, 4 dimes, 1 nickle, and 4 pennies.
  19. I don't know if Werners KAT/DA build would have enough +RCH for a BS/DA to use, but it could be something to look into if you're willing to go all out.

Since I can't see builds without the data chunk (the link never works for me) I have no idea how much you're willing to spend.

That said, friend in my SG has Werner's KAT/DA build on her's, minus the +3 HOs and is only missing 1 Enzyme, and is loving the build.

I have to ask. Is all these currencies really that confusing to people?

I havent found them confusing yet. So what exactly is making them confusing?

Is it just because it's not a "Gold, Silver, Bronze" style thing?

Give the writers three years to write stuff for the character as they are now, and at the end of the three years ALL the comics jump forward from whatever point they're at. Advance the world setting three years from the last jump, and decide what happened "off pannel" during the jump.

The writers know it's coming, so they can plan for it. They can have uninteresting advancement happen in the jumps so they don't need to waste time showing it. Have failing books end at the jump, and bring new ones in at that time.

The characters age with the passage of time, but the jumps gives you a chance to spend the entire three years NOT worrying about it if you don't want to. If HeroBoy gets his powers as a Junior in High School, you can spend the first three years telling the story of his Junior year. The next three, him trying to hide his identity in college. If the character doesn't seem viable after that, then end the comic or kill him (passing his powers on to his younger brother in Jr High).
The idea of 100 issues equals a year in the comic world, does all that without having to do time jumps.

I did the math for Spider-Man. Taking an older one...

Batman is 72 years old now.

If they stuck with Bruce starting his career at the age of 27-30, he'd be working his way to his 9 years as the Batman now.

This would put him between 35 and 39. Perfect age for our current Batman.

It would mean Damian would be out of the picture or they would have to have aged him artifically or he's a 9 year old little brat and he was born early on in Bat's career.

this was just the one thing I liked about USM. 100 issues was a good set amount to say "the character is this old now, and after this many issues it would have been one year."

All this would mean, is that the comicbook companies would have to put out less holiday themed issues. And would that really be a problem? Best thing for that is insert a nice pin up with the issue.
  22. Stalkers will get Titans Weapons.

It ensures the devs get more money, since it will be a powerset one has to buy, to make it available to those who want to play just Stalkers.
  23. The best badger, is the badger you have fun playing regardless of badging

Some may be harder to get badges on, but there are ways. Started working on my healing badges on my DB/WP with the use of Rebirth (but that was more just luck of picking that as the concept fitting, awesome for the build, Destiny pick).

    It's a good influence sink.

Seeing what the 88's have done, it just makes one realize how much influence is out there and can be gotten by those who are willing.
