  1. Wait. So me saving Katie Douglas all those times didn't happen?

So, the Loyalist Responsibility arc is the way the storyline progresses?

Duncan is a Praetor and her counterpart in Primal is not a member of the Freedom Phalanx.

  4. Was able to login, but not access Time Manip, Street Justice, or any of the GR sets that I have access to on live.
  5. I say keep BABs out of the Freedom Phalanx if that's the case! Rewrite those missions!

Have him be that really good ally who you think would be a FPer but isnt!

I basically glossed over it in favor of trying to enjoy the movie.

I will simply summarize my position on the matter by saying that Kirk realistically speaking would probably have not been left in command of the Enterprise based solely on the events of the movie. I have no problem with his heroic "field promotion" during the events we saw. I simply have a quibble with the premise that -after- all the excitement he would be left in permanent command. He's simply too raw out of the gate no matter how cool or brilliant he is.

Sure based on his exploits he'd most certainly be fast-tracked to the captain's chair. I could see promoting him directly to LtCmdr or even Cmdr and maybe even formalizing his position as first officer on the Enterprise at least to start so that he could get some real space experience under his belt from a working mentor other than Pike. But going so far as to make a cadet fresh out of school the permanent captain of your flagship heavy cruiser? No, that's just not going to happen instantly no matter which timeline you're talking about.

Once again I realize for the simple purposes of the movie Kirk was going to end up being the "captain" regardless. I'm just pointing out that if you bother to scratch the surface for even a moment you see there's a working difference between what's "necessary for a epic summer blockbuster" and what "would happen if this were real".

It's not like Abrams isn't going to bend the rules for whatever he wants regardless.
I think to believe that after saving Earth, they see the potential and thusly put him in charge.

You know, outside of Char (because it's a smoke animation and not BLAZE or FIRE), I tend to like the Holds. It's the ST Immobilizes I really haven't cared for.

But the Hold at least to me has a better function than the Immobilize.

And I have to agree. Would be nice if the blasts where a bit better damage. I don't take the blasts for a ranged attacks per se (though it's nice to have for sure) I take them because they're awesome for concepts to take.

Sadly, they're not always worthwhile using except for say on a runner, when I'd rather like to use them to replace or use in conjunction with say my Tier 1 melee attack, without losing any damage.

It will come up since if you have a class of 30 students. If you have 15 boys (half a class) one or two will be color vision deficient.

There are several types. red/green can be from a lack of red receptors or green receptors. -Green is the most common form.

There is also blue/yellow. It is also possible to be -red and -blue, or -red and -green and rarer cases where the person has no cone cells at all.

I don't know where common starts and uncommon ends. Its a numbers game and this is something that should be a consideration for design.
Me neither (hence why I asked). I just figured that number wasn't high enough to worry about in this medium.

I like the idea of a buff that makes my other time buffs better, and a debuff that makes my other time debuffs better. It's a bit like the combo mechanic from dual-swords, and it puts some focus on Time Manip as being a self-focused set as opposed to a set that provides support for my primary set.
Oh it seems nice, but the added effects (as of the one post) is just additional regen for a limited time. A nice little something extra, but nothing that looks to be a real deal breaker without it.

But having seen that list before, I've been planning out a build based around it, and I need to make quite a few power choices to fit everything in that I want for the concept (this includes skipping Dual Pistol powers, I've never skipped before, but truthfully only used because I love the animation and ignored a lot of times).

If the dev have no problem with Fire/Kin and SS/Fiery, then I can't see why Elec/Shield Stalker is going to be that broken.

    1. Shield Charge and Lightning Rod can't critical.

    2. Stalker's build up isn't as strong as Scrappers'.

    3. Lightning Rod > Assassin Strike only works well if you are soloing and all surrounding mobs are knocked down. If not, it's better to just follow up with Thunder Strike or a patron aoe.
I have no problem with it. I'm just wondering if the devs would intentionally let it happen, and why I think they'd be more likely to remove Shield Charge for Hide.

Siolfir: They could, do doubt about it, but doesn't mean it'll happen. Did they add +REC to a power for Regeneration losing QR? What about WP?

Not me! I've played an ILL/RAD and a FIRE/THERM to 50 and outside of concepts (I'd have loved to make a Ice/Cold/Ice) I find Trollers are just not my AT for fun. :/

To some other posts...one of the great things about CoX, is a lot of the sets lend themselves to being used as other concepts, if you like their setup.

Like before I've used Radiation Emission as Time Manipulation (and WP for melee as a Time Manip style set, but for melee).

It's close to what I've been looking for (my guess as to what Time Manip would fit a bit better) in a buff/debuff set. However, the set being full of click powers looks to be kinda sucky for the weapon users. :/
  15. And the accelerated aspect doesn't seem all that great. Yeah, it is a buff, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't look to be all that.

Also would love to know if that tier 9 works on the caster as well, or just the team.

Peter Parker is Spider-Man, not this new guy. People hated it when they made Spider-Man into Ben Reilly, and he was a white guy.

I've heard others pointing to Batman being replaced by Nightwing and Captain America being replaced by Bucky and there wasn't much of an uproar. The thing is, the deaths of Bruce Wayne and Steve Rogers were *wink wink nudge nudge* affairs where everyone knew they would be back eventually.

And I mean, really, the previous poster (not quoted above) saying people only want Grand Wizard superheroes, I mean, that's about as immature as you can get.
True with the Batwoman. She qas created that way. I meant it more as I got the feeling she was created that way to hype it up more than anything else.

IE...let's do this to be edgy, and get major hype. I could be wrong on it of course (I dont deny that) and it may have just been the media who gave it that feeling.

Spider-Man change feels exactly like all the changes are EXACTLY for these reasons though.

Now let's assume it's done to diversify, I don't see why the couldn't create a new character. With this route it feels exactly like they're saying making their own original hero like this wouldn't sell without name recognition.

What are they going to use instead?

Green-Red color blindness? So use blue? What about those with Blue-Yellow color blindness?

It's just to me, in this medium I don't know how they could really get it right with taking that into account.
  18. My only thought so far has been "awesome set" likely to skip Temporal Selection as it's basically a single target buff, that is nice but hardly needed in a team enviorment outside of being nice on a duo.

    Just my opinion anyways.

6% isn't "fairly common," it's "so common as to be assumed."

That's assuming the 6% number is real.
I don't know. 6% of the world population was me just wiking it Cuz hearing it be faily common I was curious, so I thought I had to check.

Just didn't seem fairly common to me.

2% of the population has red hair (which I have) and I never thought red hair was a fairly common trait.

But even if that was case, I don't think it's something the devs should take into consideration at all, when it comes to colors of effects.

If they did, we'd have very limited use of color.

Hell, you can complete the first Patron arc to get the powers, then complete the second Patron arc to kick their *** with their own powers, then get out of the Isles by doing some good things on your way.

If you never complete the 3rd arc where you kiss and make up, it never happened. You can safely consider Scirocco to be a dire enemy of your hero from that day forward, and your name to be on Arachnos Most Wanted lists.

Was that really so hard to come up with?
Or, Recluse considers your hero a destined one, and is willing to give you some leeway in the isles to take out the bad guys in the isles while trying to watch you fall to the darkside.

You can just ignore a lot of the missions actual story and make your own.

    Day-Jobs v2.0

Hmmm...I never thought of the day jobs as perticularly awkward to use. I just found I prefere some over the others.

Like +REC is nice and all, but if it only works when out of combat, it becomes of little use to me.

S/L Defense shield is nice, but it's only good for me if I have a character with suffiecent S/L defense to stack with it.

The end of mission rewards are nice, but it requires I slam through missions to make more use of it.

    Hmmm...a thought...

Make Day Jobs a selectable thing, much like Incarnate Powers.

However, put a time limit on how often you can change it. Then when you put it in a slot and you get that particular bonus power, whether it be a toggle (like the S/L Shield) or Passive.

Sorry, Katt, for the outburst earlier. Game balance is a delicate thing, and selling power... yeah. Never a good idea. It turns the game into haves and have nots and there's already too many of those on the market.
I think that selling power isn't a bad idea per se. It's knowing the balance.

Would selling the ability to have 3 more slots available to you at lvl 49 or 50, make that big of a difference between characters? No.

Would selling the ability to have 3 more slots avialable to you at lvl 49 or 50, make that big of a difference between players? No.

Would selling that ability to have 3 more slots available to you at lvl 49-50, mean you're characters have a bit more power? Of course! But not enough to really hamper anyone who ignored it. It's a bit of +enhancement to a power, and 3 additional set bonuses.

If they implemented it as a 5 dollar global unlock feature, then people wouldn't have to feel it's a waste of money for every character they want to min/max, and those who don't want to spend any money aren't really left out of anything.

Now, that's a bit different than what AK suggested, as buying just more slots repeatedly does make to extreme of a power difference between haves and have nots.

Point being, it's all in how it's implemented and how much they offer.

Offering 3 slots = nothing really changes.

Offering unlimited slots = OMG WTF!
