This is what I use now , it is pretty effective team and solo in its current form. Posi in both cones is super fun when they proc ( and they do proc a lot )
Edit: Also, with this setup you have a 30% range Def, 20% melee and 43% resist so you can play in close with toggles.

Quote:We had 2 spawn in the final mission 10 feet from the AV, it really really really sucked. We had to call the TF because an AV and 2 +7 Bosses were to miuch to handle. We tried pulling , seperating and zoning and nothing could get them apart.Anyone confirm/test that the Manticore TF doesn't spawn lvl 40s at all like they do on Live?
Patch note still states just the first mission......
P.S. they were both AoE PP's so they would kill us all in 2 hits. -

I had the worst experience on Saturday with an AE bunny. We made the mistake of advertising our Synapse in Atlas and got a 17 Kin/Arch. He assured us he was a good Defender since he had 2 x 50s both Defenders. Being the only Defender in a melee heavy team we told the Tank and Scrappers to stick together and for the Kin to hit them when he can with Transfusion. First engagement tank and 2 scrappers die with zero coming from the Kin other than lots of arrows, so we look at his build..OMG! He has all Archery powers up to Aim , Stealth, Kick, Flurry and Siphon Power!! One whole power from his primary !! We asked him why he didnt take any of his primary powers , he said and I quote. I never needed taht stuff b4 the blobs never attack us .....Ugh.......I died a little inside
P.S. should have looked at him ahead of time then I would have seen his 14 total badges ( no vet badges ) 11 of them AE badges and his power choices. Ah well. -

We apologize for Moldys schizophrenic turrets outbreak , he is now back in his special room. Nothing to see here...... -
For LR you need a non damage toggle on him to interrupt his Bane summoning, We usually use RI with max -tohit which also helps get his tohit spike under control.
As for his fluctuating tohit I think it comes in pulses from Blue Tower, I dont believe Blue gives a constant +30% tohit as stated in the Wiki. We usually go Blue then Red not the way listed on the Wiki, just for that reason. Use a few purples for the first 3 minutes of the fight and when the Blue tower is down you can use standard buffs from your team ( Fort from the Emp glued to you)

Now that Handclap is Knock up, the only set with KB issues is Bots.
Quite a big issue since Bots rely so much on Burn patch damage.

use Electifying Fences from Mu Mastery, stops knockback. -
I use taunt for 2 reasons
1. As a second ranged source to hold agro. I use my Aura/FSC/Combustion for melee and taunt to get ranged or stragglers to focus on me and not the squishies.
2. to taunt things that spawn baddies if you damage them I.E. Lord Recluse on STF, also very usefull for kiting things like GW from range. -

In my opinion Mercs are pretty much completely eclipsed by Thugs(Not a stretch of the imagination), but other than that Necro, Robotics and Ninjas all have their place and strengths next to Thugs; Thugs is definitely not the superior set(especially if you account for AI).
[/ QUOTE ]
Huh? Is this number crunching or actual game play? I find my Mercs just as easy ( if not easier ) to kill with than my Thugs.
When you account for DPS and pure damage you have to account for things like Bruiser A.D.D ( spending half the fight not actually killing but running back and forth) Arsonist causing huge scatter and then having to chase things down only to die out of range.
Mercs have none of these issues so they spend more time damaging foes non stop. -

Ummm well I just tried to builld a new telepad. I used the first recipe - the one with the luck charm. Know what I got? Not the nice tech telepad I could use - but instead some honkin big RAID telepad that I couldnt use. There went that expensive salvage! There are 3 recipies - do they make different things?
[/ QUOTE ]
I would like to know this too. There are 3 telepad recipes listed at my table , the standard tech and arcane and a third one for higher level salvage. What does that make? -

French fries, gravy and cheese curds (or substitute mozzarella in the absence of curds). A small poutine weighs 9 lbs. Feels like 12 when it's in your belly. So good.

For me
3 spiderlings
2 call reinforcements
1 Mu
= 6 pets ( same as MM ) -
Was fighting Arachnos last night with my 37 Crab and as soon as I fired my Venom grenade at a 37 Bubblebot Boss he would run full speed 3 rooms away. It happened every single time, got to the point I was so annoyed and disgusted I exited the mission and logged. I am waiting the 2 days then dropping the mission, I dont want to deal with this crap.
-
I have 5 MM combinations above 32 ( Mercs/Dark, Thugs/Pois, Thugs/Pain, Bots/Traps and Necro/Pain ) and I find Mercs easiest to play.
-Thugs have annoying AI issues with the Arsonist melee dying and Bruiser running all over the place trying to figure out what to focus on ( A.D.D )
-Protector Bots always suicide melee or run right up to an opponent to bubble the other bots that are 50 feet behind him back with me ( whats that all about ). Also had clipping issues with Seekers but that is fixed
-Both Thugs and Bots cause fire fear scatter so if you dont have an immobilize you get the fun job of chasing mobs in 4 different directions.
-Grave Knights get stuck at range using their blast powers and I end up having to GOTO them all the time to melee
Basically I find all other ones I have tried require vastly more micro managing that Merc/x. With my Mercs I just point and shoot and they stay in a nice bunch for heal , debuffs, buffs or toggle range ( don't get me started with Def/Resist IO's with the Thugs/Bots melee scatter ). Sure Merc/x might not be as powerful but I find they are much easier to play and with their base resists stacked with IO's and Toggles they are very survivable. -
My_11_toons did you try PinnBadges or Cozmic's Playground? At any time there are usually 200+ people in each channel. Myself and many people I know would never join a pug from broadcast especially if we dont know the person. A Hami raid can be either very good or a complete waste of many hours depending on the organization or lack there of, its much easier to get 7 other people from the channel and do a STF in 2 hours for a HO.

It wasn't? My sg went ti a secluded area and just smacked each other 750 times, and save a few people trying to give us a hard time by griefing us, we got it in maybe an hour?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah cause ya know attacking someone in a PvP zone is considered griefing
[/ QUOTE ]
Attacking someone repeatedly could be construded as griefing especially if they announce their intentions in a civil manner in english :P The only thing gained from any pvp attack is a reputation increase and now recently a recipie. Every five minutes? Fine o.0 But since you attack a person over and over, the ONLY thing you get from it is the satisfaction of impeeding their progress.
Unless I'm mistaken, what else do you fet out of it reward wise?
However, we managed to get some civil pvpers to come over and beat on them while we worked on our base
-C.A.
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you serious? I dont PvP at all and I even understand the words PvP zone. If I go in there I expect be attacked every step I take, its the whole point of the zone. If they want a place to RP killing someone try pocket D or the other 20+ non PvP zones. -

don't worry, the poster removed himself from the league cause appearently it wasn't their style.
Also didn't know why he was referring to a PvPEC event when this isn't hosted by the PvPEC.
anyways it's not an issue now that they're gone.

And you wonder why this game or any game find it hard to attract and keep PvP players. Its not the PvP part itself that people hate, its the childish attitude that comes with it.
I would have signed up for this if I wasn't 100% sure it was going to end up exactly like this, it always does.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, one person's a real great way to get to know a group of people.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nothing to do with the people on Pinnacle, as a whole all of you are awesome and are the reason I really enjoy CoX. Its just organized PvP and leagues alway seem to lead to name calling and bad feelings. My PvP oriented WoW guild died after 8 months because of all the bickering and in fighting from rules and results.
But this has nothing to do with your league and rules, sorry. I just hate to see the people I have known for years cross the line with each other and say or do things that lead to irreparable damage.
I will stay out of this thread, back to PvP ! -

You can do that for 50M? When did Mako's get this cheap? Or the Steadfast +def? Reactive's gone up in price too, right? The -KB IOs crashed a bit ago, but I really don't think you can put this together for under 100M. Hell, just the crafting fees, not to mention the salvage, is gonna run in you in the millions. Then again, I've been out of the market for a while so maybe you could.
Still, even my own Fire/EM build w/capped S/L def (which costs a bit more than this, obv) is nowhere near as tough as a well built Granite tank, unless you're talking about Fire damage only. Plenty good enough for any TFs in the game w/the right support, but so are most well built tanks regardless of powerset. The phrase "as good as Granite" gets thrown out way too much. Until you get to capped resists & def against most types, no you're not.
Oh, I seriously have yet to have a problem w/the Reichman fight in 4 or 5 PUG runs through it. The only time we had a wipe was the very first day of I15 when no one knew what they were doing and let all 4 AVs come at us w/o taking care of them as they awoke, and we still almost got Reichman (had him at like 3% before we went down, cleaned up after hosp'ing it).
[/ QUOTE ]
Last time I checked Mako's were around 1 -2 mil a piece plus crafting and salvage so say 15 mill for the set, so I guess you're right, more like 60 to 100 but still easily doable by a 50 who has leveled in content and not AE. Even if he has AE for half his levels he can use his tickets for 10 - 20 mill worth of free uncommon/rare slavage. Or you can just ignore the Mako's as they are not even needed for tanking Melee AV's
As for the Granite statements, if you look again most of them have been"SO" Granite including me in this thread. Most TF's are designed around a "SO" character and not "IO". If I can make a Fire/Fire with roughly the same Res/Def as a "SO" Granite then I should be able to tank the same content, right?
A full IO Granite tank with tough/weave is just plain silly, 90% resist and easily a 60% melee Def with 50%+ in everything else. Basically take my Fire/Fire and add 15% Res and double the defense. But hey , I like challenges and the occasional Oh crap moment of tanking with a fire/fire. If I wanted to AFK on large pulls and watch TV while in a +5 TF I would have made a Stone -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Before I upgraded my Fire/Fire with high end IOs I was sitting at 71 Res / 32 melee defense with the basic IO sets above.
[/ QUOTE ]
Care to post that build...I'd like to see it.
[/ QUOTE ]
The cheap 50 mil build? sure. I was a bit off its 71 Res 28.4 melee def ( been awhile since I had Multi's )
If you replace all the Multi's with Oblits your running 38 melee def. I run burn / QS as a mitigation tool and another place for Oblits. For most people I would recommend Pyre pool and slotting Fireblast instead of Scorch. I just went Scorch/Burn route for the extra defense from Mako's and Oblits.

Some people think or say I gimped myself but I in no way feel gimped when I am tanking Reichman or LR and they are dieing constantly
