Quote:I spent two years in Taiwan, part of that time when maintenance was daily. Every single day after working from 9 to 10 I'd come home and try to log in, forgetting about the downtime. Even when it was changed to a weekly schedule it still affected my game play. It is a very frustrating scenario, and as a previous poster said, you're story comes off as quite condescending.I detailed EXACTLY what my situation was - did you even read my post?
Out of maybe 30+ attempts to play this game overseas (mostly tried in the evenings and/or "prime times" as far as a person living in Melbourne, Australia would be concerned) I've only been hit by the server maintenance once that I recall. This means that my average downtime in these timezones is around 3% of the time. To me that percentage is not worth whining about.
The only thing I see as "funny" around here is -anyone- whining about downtime here. *shrugs* -

You don't. This is very strange, and most likely a bug. When you choose it as your active mission does the location line tell you it's in Neurtopolis?
-
It was tested in Beta, and IIRC the pact remained intact.

In the AE suppression area all powers are turned off and your tray is greyed out. I can't think of any instance where powers are just suppressed and not turned off. Even when you're held aggressive toggles turn off and defensive ones still work.

Fame is not a limit on how many tip missions you can do in a day. Just a limit on how many alignment points you can get. Morality missions don't count towards the fame/alignment point limit unless you don't have a full 10 points in the alignment of the mission. In both cases you can still get and do missions after all your fame slots are full.

Quote:I'd be more than happy to go somewhere else. Too bad EB is the only store in Canada that carries the physical copy of GR.Just so everyone knows, I used to work at that EB warehouse in Brampton (was listed on page 2 I think), the place is a sweatshop, crappy pay, they watch your washroom breaks and such and never hire anyone full time, they tell u it's "Temp to Perm" but haven't hired anyone in 2 years.
And if your sick, your fired...
NEVER goto EB. -
Quote:You can do as many tips as you want, however, you can gain 5 alignment points within the 20 hour block. Also, there is a 20 hour timer for each fame slot, so the missions don't reset together after 20 hours.A little more detail: You can do up to 5 tip missions within a 20 hour window. If you do all 5, then do 5 more the next day, you can get your morality mission on the second day. So it's a two day minimum to change alignments, but you can spread it out longer if you want. Just look at the tip window and see if all 5 icons are lit up to tell if you've hit the limit.

Just got back from EBGames where I was told the date on the website has now been changed to the 23rd. Stuck me as odd that they'd say on Friday that it would be available on Monday. The guy at the desk also read me an email sent out to all stores saying the shipment is stuck at the borders. I guess they're just trying to give us some excuse.
Black Pebble's post is reassuring though. Hopefully it doesn't take too long to sort out. -
Quote:The strange thing is that WalMart's Canadian website lists GR if you search for it, but if you try to find a store with any in stock no dice.Come find me an alternative!
- amazon.ca - Not in Stock
- bestbuy.ca - only offers AE edition
- futureshop.ca - only offers AE edition
Nothing in the brick and mortar stores either, WalMart, the Source, Zellers... nada as of 08/18/2010.
I really hope tomorrow brings good news for us. I have no problem buying it from NCSoft, but I really wanted a physical copy of it. My most current CoX disc is CoV.
Searching through pages of the GR forums for this thread had me questioning my sanity. -
That's a good point, but I didn't necesarily mean GameStop specifically. I take issue more with the whole exclusive aspect of it. I'd like to have had the ability to choose a store I trusted more while still getting a bonus.

That doesn't surprise me at all. It's not the fault of Paragon. For the rest of the continent it was released on the appropriate day. This is an issue with Gamestop. Although, I hope this issue as well as the issue with some American customers no receiving their pre-order goodies makes Paragon think twice before giving exclusive pre-order deals.

I spent the last 8 hours filing and shredding documents at work. The only thing that kept me going today was knowing that GR would be waiting for me at EBGames when I got home. Oops. The guys at the counter looked at me as though I were crazy, checked their system and told me it comes out on the 20th, not the 17th.
I really hope this is true, as opposed to spice_weasel's source. At least I know it's not just my store. -

Quote:1. That's ridiculous. Considering most of the people who come to these boards with credit card problems are either from outside the United States, or are residing outside, Silverado's understanding of the situation is completely logical. Even more so if you've never had to deal with the issue yourself. This + poster's forum join date + poster's post count = despair for humanity.
2. That's ridiculous. This is what brings you to despair for humanity? Not the slaughter and warefare going on in several parts of the world right now? Not the willful destruction of much of the planet at our hands? Interesting. -

I had to wait half an hour while the guy at my local store got out his netbook and looked GR up on the Gamestop website. Fun times.

Quote:I'm a long term subscriber. I pre-ordered GR, so I am going to get the goodies that come with getting the expansion via GameStop. There really is no good reason why long-time subscribers who Pre-Order the "Going Rogue" set should not receive anything and everything included in the Pre-Sale package sold through GameStop or any other outside retailer.
What about this argument: There really is no good reason why long-time subscribers who pre-order the "Going Rogue" set should not receive early access to the Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning powersets included in the Pre-PURCHASE package sold through the NCSoft store.
Special offers aren't bad ideas. They are choices. If you pre-purchase you got one thing. If you pre-order you got another. If you want to you can do both to get everything, but the only people being denied anything are the people who don't play the game yet since they have no account to attach the pre-purchase to. -
Quote:Expecting more from someone who has two little words under their picture is just rediculous. You get that title by posting on the forums. Any forum. Any post. You don't have to answer questions, or be a friendly person. You just click reply, type one character, then click submit reply.Sorry Snow Globe, but no one deserves to be berated in the manner you just did.[assume= A*s-U-Me]
Since you are a member of the "Forum Cartel",I really expected more from you than that snippy, belittling reply.
Just as you can't judge a player's skill by their level, you can't just post quality by post count.
I'm not saying this with Snow Globe in mind, just as a general rule. Forum titles are truly meaningless. -
Quote:I'll often use assist targeting, and not just through the tank
This is how I do it too.
As a tank I usually cycle through targets to make sure I have everyone paying attention to me, and I give more attention to the tougher mobs, like bosses, AVs so the rest of the team can pick of the little guys in peace. I actually hate seeing the scrapper or blaster rush in to attack the big guy, so I also expect people not to target off of me.
