Blood Spectre

Anyone else having trouble with theirs? Mine just greyed out all the special power icons, and I can no longer activate the emotes. My costume change screen no longer displays an emote option either. It's as if I never bought the things, except I can see the greyed out icons.

That makes sense. I remember diving into a group of DE and thinking "Wha... they're actually hitting me!" Then I read the description on the Quartz emanators, which then went straight to the top of my First-To-Die list.

In a way it's quite exhilarating to suddenly encounter something that actually poses a threat, after so half a dozen levels or so of shredding every enemy I meet.

My favorite thing about CoX is simple. It's amazing customization allows me to create and play a wide variety of super villains. When I bought this game my goal was to create the ultimate villain. Over the years this goal has expanded from alt to alt, new powerset to new powerset until my total stable of characters that I actually like and will play numbers in the dozens. While some might complain that the stories are not evil enough, or not up to their standards, nobody else offers such a rich variety of villains to choose from.

What is my least favorite thing? To be realistic, it's the seperate markets. Paragon Studios own numbers suggest the hero to villain split is 70-30 on any given day. With 70 percent of the drops and cash locked away by a barrier that makes no valid gaming sense (lolzarpee!) the villain side market can be an unholy bear to shop in. There are workarounds, but they are less satisfying and less fun. If it were up to me, I would merge the markets for the overall benefit of both sides of the game.

I will, to this thread submit my personal favorite novel, Villains by Neccissity, writen by Eve Foreward.

It's a typical fantasy novel with the following set up; a long time ago the world was beset by darkness and evil. Dragons and demons prowled the night, united behind The Dark Lord, who threatened to plunge the world into a hellish eternal night. But a band of unlikely heroes, each champions of what was Good and right set aside their differences and banded together to overthrow the Dark Lord and shatter his hold over the land.

But they didn't stop there. No these heroes and their descendents wages a relentless campaign against the dark, leaving no stone unturned, scouring the wicked things and men of poor moral character from the world. The group's wizard created a spell that would infuse the soul of a wicked man with light, thus transforming these villains into peaceful and productive folk.

So it has gone until now the world is a bright and pristine place. Noble dragons and majestic Unicorns move freely across the land, and the people's are united by the legacy of the heroes that freed them. The world stands poised to ascend into a perfect glorious radiance of the light, when the last 6 unlikely scoundrels must band together, setting aside their personal differences to restore the power of the darkness to it's rightful place.

Yeah we're sort of on the same page a little.

That first anti farming rant.. I wont be spoken to like that, by anyone. I have more than enough pink slips to prove it. I'm still mad about this but it just keeps getting worse.

Here's my real opinion. No matter what happens, they let it go live, and they need to live with that. That's been what happened in the past. Powers got out of hand, events gave too much xp, whatever. People got to keep the rewards. You didn't see the Winter Lord babies getting whacked back down to level 1.

Instead we got some gustapo rant and a long list of legitmate rewards and content yanked. My MA arc had it's last map pulled without warning and I dont know if it will ever come back. My hard won awards for the rating on said arc are getting pulled. And no, I didn't exploit to get those badges. Nobody likes me enough to lie for me, so I earned those ratings by making something fun. But fine, apparently I'm a minority and most people with these badges stole them, or something. But now everwhere I look I see friends leaving, letting subscriptions expire, regular events being canceled.

It's hard for me not to be bitter.

I'm out for this one.

My subscription expires within a few days. I'll be leaving the game. I enjoyed all of my time with all of you. I thought Infinity had a great community and I was able to explore aspects of the game with all of you I might never have gotten to otherwise, like strike forces and PvP and raiding. I enjoyed the joke threads and the events and all of it. I'm not sure I'll miss the game, but I'll miss the people.
