  1. What if this was another AT?... Think mastermind, but merely getting 1 summon pet (your sidekick). The AT could be called "Dynamic Duo" or "Partners" whatevs...
The primary power, or summon, would be similar to MMs, but flavored like the other ATs (ranged dam, melee, support, control) that dictates the basic type of SK you get along with the kinds of powers available to you.
The secondary is determined after the primary... IE; melee primary, shield secondary. Ranged primary,blap/soft control secondary. Having the SK as a summon like MMs allows for it always to be 1 lvl lower than you and also only take 1 character slot.
Now this form of the concept could allow for a "combo-esq" mechanic in the primary. A various set of bonuses that you receive when your SK is summoned and both performing attacks/buffs/rebuffe/etc.
Gonna need to flush this idea more when I'm at my CPU... Hard to do on a mobile phone.
  2. I keep getting a "coming soon" when i click on the thumbnails at joystiq... I wanna see 'em
  3. the concept is good, but I believe the composition needed a little tweaking... here is my two cents. Hope you don't mind.

your character was consumed by the background. I enlarged him and tried to establish a center triangle (him flanked by the buildings). fading the background a tad (maybe too much) brings him front and center. Also having him over the border helps establish him as the focus. The enlarging of the name was for presentation and balance... but it could remain the dame size yet shifted up on the page.

anyhoo... sorry for this, don't think me a bully, just wanted to point out a few ideas for layout.
  4. Personally, I enjoy the current freebie offer and have grabbed it. It remains to be seen what price thus weapon skin booster will sell for after the special offer. All I know is, compared to every other "free/hybrid mmo" out that I have played (it's well over a dozen), Paragon has been extremely fair with it pricing. If you doubt that claim, please feel free to gander at any other free mmo's market place. Heck, look at Aion's offerings... 10 bucks for 1 weapon skin.

Step back and gain some perspective... Or just breathe. There are far worse things to fret about.

(please note: this postings was not intended to snark, badger, or insult... Just wanted to voice my scouting report. )

Aw, Kalinda is gone from redside? I haven't gone bad yet post 21... Have all the contacts been wiped in Mercy? Even the SoA contact?

    Slide power

Not for sale. According to the devs through Freedom Friday chats on Facebook, it won't ever be too.

    Ludicrous Speed!

O.o guess I should explore Grandville beyond just badges a little more. Thanks for the reply.

    Ludicrous Speed!

Nifty, how'd you do it?... I mean, without going plaid.
  9. If this is purely about all costume pieces being available to all player models regardless of current gender gates, then Hell yes! Gimme all them sweet options... I got tons of ideas for their use.

Side note: I am tired of being characterized as a chiseled jaw, balloon bicepped, super being... I want to be a doughy, emotionally observant, and a caring father. If this game involved more aspects from a certain "life SIMulation" game, then maybe we could truly break stereotypes.
  10. Both the male and female avatars are overly sexualized. That doesn't mean sexually arousing, just overly characterized. To condemn a representation of femininity on the grounds it has small weapons or walks with a tush sway is overlooking the broad definitions the society has placed on that gender. The way this game portrays the physical aspects of femininity are based on the broad characterizations made by the contributing writers/artists of the core genre... Comic Books. I feel this topic cannot be discussed without mentioning what contributes to "sexual identity" in the western world. However, that is taboo here so... This discussion maybe at an impasse.
  11. @ NewScrapper,
-Short answer... if you rarely play Blasting types, then skip it.

-More involved answer... Even some serious Blast lovers are split on Beam Rifle, 'tis a tricky set to run and gun with. Corruptors seem* to have the most effective use out of the set.

I personally played (and currently on live) on Beta a BR/Poison Corr. I love it. If there are 2+ BRs on a team, the disintegration mayhem is awesome. Solo, the set works well if you do a little planning.

I suggest playing around with one on Beta/Test and make your own judgements. Hell, try teaming with a few BRs on live and grill them for real time experience.

    Good luck =D
  12. in regards to Proliferation, who's to say that anymore they do wouldn't find it's way on the market as a purchasable power unlock? I don't wanna say they'll do it, but it can be likely... most of the powers left to cross ATs are more labor intensive to port (as stated by the Devs)... so why not get a little scratch for the effort. Not hard to imagine shelling 400 pts for Dark Control, just saying is all. I don't wanna see it, but I can imagine it.
  13. for a broad description of where you are... and I mean broad, try this slash command...

    /whereami

I love it, especially since I am a rabid altoholic and can't remember what server I logged in on or where I actually am... maybe I drink too much... either way, it's a fun command.
  14. Way to go Art Team! Very happy to see this rework. Thank you for acknowledging the players and making this happen. You people are great!
I want all these pieces... will everything be available to the player or are there locked NPC only items? Will there bundle set available or merely per item? Gotta know so I can start socking money away to give you
    Again, well played!

I agree. However, there are people that are motivated to play games by having mini goals. Simply gaining lvls doesn't cut it. Unlocks are just that. Most every other mmo has content locked behind achievable conditions. Flying Mounts and Epic Gear... Costume pieces are part of this games unlocks due to the nature of this game.

I would love to have all the pieces available at creation, but that may never happen. Until then, I'll buy them with P.Points or unlock them through content play. I doesn't matter, by essence all the pieces are there for me to use... some just take a bit of doing.

You are right, I told the devs to lock you Anchor, just you, from ever obtaining certain costume parts. Do you also feel a sense of wanting and despair when you see someone driving a car that you really want? That is called "envy". The cure, make it a goal, obtain the item you desire. Don't hate those that have what you want... or feel you should have.
  18. I still believe there maybe a miscommunication between the devs and the player base regarding this. I can't believe they would allow anyone, regardless of accumulated Reward Points, to just simply "buy" an 84 month vet badge. The power, sure, but the badge is a distinct symbol of actual Subscription Veteran Time.

The next uStream needs to have this clarified.

Achievements in the game will not give you a "better" costume, because what is "good" is entirely subjective. They may give you more options, but as is the case with capes, those options aren't always useful for every design. At the end of the day, what matters is what you do with said options, not which options you have. I sincerely hope that with the Freedom move, I'll have the option of voting with my wallet and broadening my creative toolkit AT CREATION.
I agree with this. EVERYTHING in this game is SUBJECTIVE. Unlockables could be part of your character's backstory... it doesn't matter. Unlock them or don't. I have seen my share of toons with odd assortments of costume pieces cobbled together that make NO sense that I can perceive, yet to that player it all makes sense. One persons decorative head fin is another's symbiotic crystalline entity that speaks Pig-Latin.

If I want a costume piece bad enough that I can't buy, I'll do the work to unlock it. Heck, I have several toons that only recently achieved a look that I believe they should have had at creation thanks to the addition of the Super Boosters. Because they didn't have that one or two pieces that I didn't have didn't make the character invalid, nor did it make it less playable... I'm sorry some players have a hard time enjoying what they have.
  20. forgive me if this was answered already....

When you are first hit with Disintegration, can you activate your self destruct and beat Antimatter to the punch or does that count as a death due to the DoT and award him the HP boost?

For this, we simply do not know. Historically, most things obtainable through in-game unlock are not achievable by an outside purchase. While things will obviously be different with the new operating model coming in i21, and while everyone would like to hope that these may be among the first items available outside the game, there is no guarantee, so people are taking what facts we have on hand: that this stuff is only achievable through Incarnate Merits.
check this page out... issue 21 overview: rewards

    Quote:
Paragon Rewards gives you credit for every single month you are a VIP player, not every three. In addition, purchasing Paragon Points for use in the Paragon Market will improve your Paragon Rewards standing. You'll be able to select from all the rewards that you to could find in the Veteran Rewards in the Paragon Rewards program and new rewards exclusive to the Paragon Rewards program, as well! In addition, you can choose which rewards you receive every time you earn a new one.
Veteran Rewards are kinda a big in-game unlock. I mean, you gotta put the time/money in to get them. Now you can run a new Sub, buy more Paragon Points (to up your Paragon Rewards standing) and simply purchase a 60 month vet reward. Might be cheaper than earning the current way, might be more expensive. The point is they are not going "Historical" here. I'm leaning towards them offering most of what you see in the Incarnate Merit vendors in the P. Store plus a host of exclusive stuff and special VIP only stuff.
  22. hmm, might have to "unlock" them if they are available for Players. Perhaps a "defeat" requirement? A mission arc unlock? I wouldn't mind getting a hand on these... but maybe a package deal with the Light and Dark carnies is in order?
  23. I remember when I scored my first first costume unlock... it was the Council rifle. I wanted it so bad for my AR/Dev Blaster... I really would have wanted it at lvl 1 when I first made her, but I earned it. I purposely hunted down any Council I could to get it as soon as I could. I know that unlock is a minor one and really pretty easy to get, but it made it worth it to me for putting the effort forward to get it. I love my Council rifle.
  24. Thank you E-Knight.... you get it... I'm joking! Geez! The rest of you pull the stick out!

I do want more boobies though... you can never have too many... safety in numbers y'all!
